International Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2012;34(10):865-869
ObjectiveTo explore the correlation of characteristic symptoms and indexes of brain collateral damageat acute stage of stroke.MethodsSeventy cases who got stroke within 72 hours were included.Five nonspecific symptoms and 6 indexes were observed at two time points.ResultsThere were positive correlations between the number of nonspecific symptoms and the value of Hs-CRP,IL-6,OX-LDL,NSE.The correlation coefficients were 0.307,0.289,0.342,0.253 and P<0.05.Nonspecific symptoms appeared in 1 to 3 groups, altogether 40 cases were involved, and the groups had significant deviation compared with the groupwithoutnonspecificsymptomsonOX-LDL(32.37 ± 31.17)μg/l, NSE(2.82 ± 1.25)ng/ml,MMP-9 (214.97± 137.88) ng/ml and P<0.05.Single symptom especially dull expression and hypersomnia were proved to be related with the indexes. For example, the correlation coefficient was 0.318 between hypersomnia and Hs-CRP.The correlation coefficient was 0.384 between dull expression and IL-6.Conclusion Characteristic symptoms were well correlated and ganged with the indexes from different view or level. It acted as representative combination of brain collateral damage syndrome.
2.Role of SOCS-3 on leptin resistant and obesity
Academic Journal of Second Military Medical University 2001;0(09):-
The new protein suppressors of cytokine signaling(SOCS) as negative regulators of signaling pathways involve in the cellular actions of many cytokines, including leptin. It regulates intracellular signal transduction cascades such as the JAK STAT pathway. SOCS is now evident of leptin resistance and has close relation with obesity. We reviewed the structure and function of SOCS 3 and the mechanism in leptin signaling pathway, providing data for the potential effect of SOCS 3 in the treatment of obesity.
3.Expressions of leptin receptor mRNA and neuropeptide Y mRNA in the hypothalamic arcuate nucleus of obese rat induced by high fat diet
Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 1986;0(03):-
The rat model of obesity was induced by high fat diet and in situ hybridization was performed with oligonucleotide probes. The results showed that expressions of leptin receptor mRNA and neuropeptide Y mRNA were significantly increased, suggesting that these increments might be related to leptin resistance.

Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2010;16(9):817-819
Objective To evaluate the cognitive impairment and the related factors in patients after first lacunar infarct (LI). Methods96 patients with LI and 40 controls were assessed with mini-mental state examination(MMSE), digit span test (DST), verbal fluency test (VFT)and clock drawing test (CDT). ResultsThe scores of MMSE, DST, VFT and CDT were significantly lower in LI group than in control group (P<0.05). Cognitive impairment occurred in 37 (38.5%) patients with LI after first stroke. The scores of MMSE, DST, VFT and CDT were lower in the patients with multiple infarcts than with single infarct (P<0.05), and lower in patients with infarcts affecting the frontal lobe, thalamus and basal ganglia than affecting other area (P<0.05). The scores of MMSE were lower in the patients with prior vascular risk factors than without risk factors (P<0.05). ConclusionLacunar infarction usually leads to cognitive impairment. Cognitive function is associated with multiple infarcts, lesions affecting the frontal lobe, thalamus and basal ganglia and those with prior vascular risk factors.

Objective To compare the difference of the microleakage repaired by direct method and indirect method of the funnel shaped root canal in the anterior teeth. Methods A total of 22 middle teeth at the similar size were collected, prepared into funnel root canal after finishing the root filling. The teeth were divided into A and B groups randomly, and there were 11 test pieces in each group. The root canal was repaired by direct method in group A and indirect method in group B. After 500 thermal-cold cycling and 240 000 dynamic cyclic loading, one tooth was selected in each group randomly. The microstructure were observed by scanning electron microscope (SEM). One piece of each group was randomly selected and the image of the core and the dentin was scanned by electron microscope. The remaining 20 pieces were dyed by India ink, dealt with transparent, compared and observed under the microscope. The degree of microleakage was recorded and analyzed in two groups. Results Under electron microscope, a gap can be observed in the bonding interface of group A. The gap was significantly bigger than that of group B. The leakage was significantly serious in group A than that in group B (P<0.05). Conclusion The level of microleakage of anterior teeth with flared canals, which is restored by fiber post core with the indirect method, is significantly better than that with the direct method. The indirect method has a good edge seal action and is more suitable for clinical application.

Objective To evaluate the outcomes and prognostic factors of distant metastasis in patients with advanced cervical squamous cell carcinoma treated with concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT). Methods A total of 118 patients with International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO, 2009 version) stageⅡb-Ⅳa cervical squamous cell carcinoma treated with CCRT between 2006 and 2010 in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University were analyzed. Their median age was 48 years (range, 23-70 years). FIGO stages were as follows:Ⅱb stage 56 cases,Ⅲa stage 6 cases,Ⅲb stage 52 cases, andⅣa stage 4 cases. Of the all patients, 55 cases showed bulkly tumor (tumor size>4 cm) and 35 cases were pelvic lymph node positive. Forty patients had pretreatment hemoglobin (Hb) levels no greater than 110 g/L. Patients with elevated squamous cell carcinoma antigen (SCC-Ag) >1.5 μg/L before CCRT and at one month after CCRT were 91 cases and 34 cases, respectively. Kaplan-Meier method was used to estimate survival. For the analysis of prognostic factors affecting distant metastasis, log-rank test was used for univariate analysis, and Cox proportional hazard model was used for multivariate analysis. Results Thirty-seven patients were diagnosed with recurrence, 19 cases of whom developed distant metastasis, 13 cases developed loco-regional recurrence and 5 cases had both distant and loco-regional recurrence. The 5-year overall survival rates and distant disease-free survival of all patients were 64.0% and 78.8%, respectively. Two patients had grade 3 acute gastrointestinal toxicity (mainly diarrhea) and 20 cases had grade 3 to 4 hematologic toxicity. Seven patients experienced grade 3 to 4 late toxicity, 5 cases of them were gastrointestinal and 2 cases were genitourinary toxicity. Univariate analysis showed that FIGO stages, SCC-Ag level at one month after treatment, pretreatment hemoglobin level, and pelvic lymph node metastasis were significantly correlated with distant metastasis (all P<0.05). Multivariate analysis showed that FIGO stage, SCC-Ag level at one month after treatment, and pelvic lymph node metastasis were independent prognostic factors for distant metastasis (all P<0.05). Conclusions For stageⅡb-Ⅳa cervical squamous cell carcinoma, the regimen of CCRT was efficacious and safe. The predictive factors for distant metastasis in patients withⅡb-Ⅳa stage squamous cell carcinoma of cervix treated with CCRT included FIGO stage, SCC-Ag level at one month after treatment, and pelvic lymph node metastasis. New treatment strategies should be considered to control distant metastasis for these patients.

AIM: To investigate the effect of homocysteine (HCY) on the induction of macrophage inflammatory protein-1? (MIP-1?) expression in cultured human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs). METHODS: After exposure of the cultured HUVECs to HCY at increasing concentrations (0.1, 0.5 and 1 mmol/L) for 8 h, the MIP-1? mRNA expression was determined by in situ hybridization using a MIP-1? cDNA probe, and the MIP-1? protein expression was measured by cell enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) using a goat anti-human MIP-1? monoclonal antibody. RESULTS: The in situ hybridization showed that cultured HUVECs were able to express MIP-1? mRNA at a low level that was purplish blue granules in cytoplasm. After exposure to HCY at the concentrations mentioned above, the expression of MIP-1? mRNA was significantly increased in a dose-dependent manner. Analysis of variance showed that there was significant difference between groups ( F= 606.38, P
