Objective To study the effects of ?-asarone on mitochondrial membrane potential(MMP) of cardiac myocytes with ischemia reperfusion injury. Methods The cardiac myocytes model of myocardial ischemia reperfusion injury (MIRI) was induced with sodium dithionite (Na2S2O4). The primary cultured cardiac myocytes of SD neonatal rats were randomized into six groups:normal group, model control group,high-dose ?-asarone (25 ?g/mL),middle-dose ?-asarone group(12.5 ?g/mL),low-dose ?-asarone group (6.25 ?g/mL) and medium group. Mitochondrial membrane potential(MMP) of myocardial cells were measured by flow cytometry. Results Compared with the normal group,MMP in the model control group was obviously decreased(P

Objective To study the protective effects of ?-asarone against the myocardial ischemia/ reperfusion injury (MI/RI) in cultured cardiac myocytes. Methods MI/RI model was set up with Na2S2O4, which make use of rat cardiac myocytes. The viability of cardiac myocytes (using MTT method), dehydrogenase (LDH, CK) activitices in the medium were measured. Results In MI/RI model, ?-asarone can obviously advance the viability of cardiac myocytes, and decrease the dehydrogenase (LDH, CK) activitices in the medium. Conclusion ?-asarone showed protective effects against the myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury in cultured cardiac myocytes.

Objective To understand the psychological status of the AIDS affected orphans in Henan Sunshine Homestead. Methods One hundred orphans from three Henan Sunshine Homesteads were investigated by questionnaire and depth-interviews.Results The study showed that the AIDS affected orphans were satisfied with their present living conditions in general, but still had some dissatisfaction. They valued peer relations, but were passive to contact strangers, and also felt lacking of care from the elderly.Nearly 70% of the orphans were some what introverted in nature, and some were in lack of thankful heart to managers of the Homestead and their patrons.

Journal of Chinese Physician 2001;0(10):-
Objective To explore the effects and molecular mechanisms of arsenic trioxide(As 2O 3) in inducing apoptosis of colonic cancer cell line SW480. Methods The morphologic changes and apoptotic rate of SW480 cells induced by As 2O 3 were observed with fluorescent microscopy and flow cytometry. The bcl-2 and Fas expressions induced by As 2O 3 in SW480 cells were examined by immunohistochemical method. Results 24 hours after exposed to As 2O 3, SW480 cells exhibited typical morphologic changes of apoptosis, the apoptotic rate of which was 2.1%~10.6%. A typical subdiploid peak before G 1 phase was observed by flow cytometry, and As 2O 3 mainly acted in G 2/M phase. As 2O 3 decreased bcl-2 expression and increased Fas expression in SW480 cells. Conclusion As 2O 3 could induce apoptosis of SW480 cells. The molecular mechanism of As 2O 3-induced apoptosis of SW480 cells might be down-regulating the bcl-2 expression and up-regulating the Fas expression.

[Objective] To screen an optimal method for the extraction of volatile oil from Naokangling Capsule (NC) and processing techniques of ?-cyclodextrin (?-CD) inclusion compound of NC. [Methods] The study was carried out with orthogonal design . Oil-extraction ratio, oil-bearing rate and inclusion rate of ?-CD inclusion compound of NC were used as indexes. [Results] The optimal process for oil extraction was adding 10-fold water in medicinal materials and then soaking for one hour and distilling for 5 hours. The optimal processing conditions for ?-CD inclusion compound of NC were: the proportion of ?-CD and volatile oil being 6:1, the inclusion compound being stirred for 2 hours at 40℃ . [Conclusion] This method is simple and practical and can increase the stability of preprations. It can be used for the production of ?-CD inclusion compound in a large scale.

Background and purpose:Life expectancy has continuously improved in recently years with the development of medical level. In 2012, the amount of people who were above 60 years old has reached 810 million and account for 11% of worldwide population. The worldwide population shift towards older ages will inevitably lead to more elderly patients being diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). It still remains controversial whether sublobar resection is effective in such cases. In order to solve this question, we need to understand the clinical characteristics of these tumors. Methods:From 2006 to 2012, a total of 310 patients with NSCLC who were above 65 years old underwent surgical resection in Department of Thoracic Surgery, the First Afifliated Hospital of China Medical University and the Second Department of Thoracic Surgical Oncology, Jilin Province Tumor Hospital. The clinical data were retrospectively analyzed in sex, stage, histology, smoking status, smoking amount, drinking status, surgical approaches, multimodality therapy and overall survival. Survival was analyzed by Kaplan–Meier method and log-rank test. Results:There were 256 (82.6%) elderly patients who underwent standard lobectomies and 54 (17.4%) patients who underwent sublobar resections. The overall 5-year survival rate was 52.9%. Patients with different surgical approaches (lobectomy and sublobar resection) had nearly the same 5-year survival rates (60.5%vs 60.8%, P=0.381). The prognosis were signiifcantly inlfuenced by gender (P=0.024), stage of disease (P=0.028), smoking status (P=0.034) and smoking amount (P=0.028). The multivariate Cox proportional hazards analysis revealed that the smoking status was associated with the hazard ratio of 1.660 (1.058-2.606;P=0.028). Conclusion:In elderly NSCLC patients, sublobar resection is considered to be an appropriate treatment in comparison with lobectomy, as this procedure provides an equivalent long-term survival. The survival of elderly patients with lung cancer is closely related to the smoking status.

Objective To investigate the causes, diagnosis and treatment of postoperative acute cholecystitis. Methods Clinical data of 9 cases with postoperaive acute cholecystitis were analyzed retrospectively. Results7 cases was confirmed by ultrasonography, 1 case was confirmed by CT, and 1 case died of gallbladder perforation, no operative mortality in emergency cholecystectomy. Conclusion The prevalent etiology is biliary stasis. Early diagnosis and treatment is the key point to decrease the death rate.

Infection is one of the common complications of stroke. It can seriously affect the prognosis of patients. Poststroke infection is closely associated with immune system imbalance, while the excessive activation of sympathetic nerve is an important factor of the occurrence of immunosuppression after stroke. The sympathetic nerve regulates immune cels primarily via β2 adrenergic receptors on the surface of the immune cels. There is evidence to show that β2 adrenergic receptor mediated immune function enhances rather than inhibits under certain conditions, but its specific molecular mechanism is unclear. This article reviews the molecular mechanisms of β2 adrenergic signaling pathway in regulation of inflammation after stroke.
