ObjectiveTo explore the abilities of automatic processing,controlled processing,selective attention by Stroop color-word test in patients with ischemic cerebrovascular disease.Methods124 patients (aged 60-90 years) with ischemic cerebrovascular disease and 126 cases with age and civilization matched healthy people were examined by Stoop color-word test (SCWT).The SCWT indexes were compared between two groups.Results Reading time of card 1,timeconsuming and error of card 2,4 and Stroop interference effects (SIE) in SCWT had significantly decreased in the patients than in the healthy people (all P＜0.05).ConclusionsThe abilities of controlled processing and selective attention,but not automatic processing are damaged in patients with ischemic cerebrovascular disease.

Objective To explore the change in heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) level in cerebrospinal fluid(CSF)and serum in patients with mild cognitive impairment(MCI),and the correlation between HO-1 and the rating scale,to provide a new marker for the diagnosis of MCI.Methods The HO-1 levels in CSF and serum in 45 MCI patients (MCI group) and 85 normal cases (control group) were analyzed with sensitive enzyme linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA).MMSE and MoCA scores were evaluated.Results The level of HO-1 was higher in MCI group than in control group both in CSF [(631.38±32.17)vs(480.75±17.98)ng/ L,P＜0.05],and in serum [(612.52±111.48)vs.(384.16±56.86)ng/ L,P＜0.05].The MCI and normal people HO-1 level had no significant difference between CSF group and serum group (P＞0.05).In MCI group,the levels of serum and CSF HO-1 had a positive correlation with MMSE scores (P＜0.05),but had no obvious correlation with MoCA scores (P＞0.05).In the normal group,the level of HO-1 was negatively related with MMSE scores in serum and CSF,and with MoCA scores in CSF (P＜0.05),but no obvious correlation in serum (P＞0.05).The levels of serum and CSF HO-1 had no obvious correlation with age in both groups (P＞0.05).Conclusions HO-1 concentration in both CSF and serum is significantly higher in MCI group than in normal group,and positively related with MMSE score.Thus the increase of HO-1concentration in both CSF and/or serum might be a new marker for the diagnosis of MCI.

Objective To investigate expression and promoter methylation status of BRCA1 in sporadic breast cancer .Meth-ods The expression of BRCA1 mRNA and protein were detected in 60 cases of sporadic breast cancer ,the adjacent breast tissues , and 30 cases of breast benign lesion tissue by RT-PCR and and immunohistochemical staining respectively .The methylation status of BRCA1 promoter in those tissues were detected using bisulfite genomic sequencing PCR (BSP) combined with TA clone for se-quencing .The relation between BRCA1 expression in sporadic breast cancer and promoter methylation status was analyzed .Results The expression level of BRCA1 mRNA and protein were down-regulated in sporadic breast cancer tissues compared to the corre-sponding adjacent breast tissues and breast benign lesion tissue(P<0 .001) .The positive rates of BRCA1 protein was 51 .7% (31/60)in sporadic breast tissue ,which were significantly lower than those of in the adjacent breast tissues 71 .7% (43/60)and breast benign lesion tissue 66 .7% (20/30)(P< 0 .001) .The methylation rate of BRCA1 promoter CpG was 31 .7% (19/60)in sporadic breast ,while it wasn′t found in adjacent breast tissues and breast benign lesion tissue(P=0 .000) .The statistical analysis showed the expression of BRCA1 had significant negative correlation with promoter methylation(r= -0 .345 ,P=0 .007) .Conclusion The hypermethylation of BRCA1 promoter could induce BRCA1 down-regulating ,which may be involved in the occurrence and develop-ment of sporadic breast cancer .

Objective To provide epidemiological evidence for the application of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) physique differentiation to the disease control and prevention, Chinese medicine health care, public education and so on in the elderly population. Methods TCM physique types of the elderly population aged over 65 years old from one University community in Tianhe district of Guangzhou city were analyzed by one-on-one questionnaire investigation with the Classification and Identification Scale for Senile Traditional Chinese Medicine Constitution, and the correlation of TCM physique types with gender, age group was also explored. Results (1) In the 65-year-old elderly population of 777 cases, 231(29.7％) were classified into phlegm-damp physique, 129(16.6％) into blood-stasis physique, and 71(9.1％) into harmony physique, which contributed to the major physique types. (2) Physique types varied in the gender. The male was dominated by phlegm-damp physique and damp-heat physique, and the female was dominated by yang-deficiency constitution, Qi-stagnation physique and interweaved physique. The differences of the constitution ratio of physique types in the gender were significant (P<0.01). (3) In various age groups, the leading 3 physique types were the same, and they were phlegm-damp physique, blood-stasis physique, and interweaved physique (P<0.01). With the increase of age years, the ratio of deficiency physique type showed an increasing trend while that of the non-deficiency physique type showed a decreasing trend. Conclusion The investigation revealed the distribution of TCM physique types of the elderly population from one University community in Guangzhou, which has important practical value for the intervention of the elderly population with Chinese medicine.

BACKGROUND:In recent years, based on high-throughput molecular imaging, integration of genomics, proteomics and computer aided design and the application of correlative “technical chains” have achieved great achievements in the research of breast cancer, lung cancer, gastric cancer, colon cancer, ovarian cancer and melanin tumor. However, there are few researches on oral squamous cel carcinoma. OBJECTIVE:To detect the gene expression profile of the oral squamous cel carcinoma tissue and normal paracarcinoma tissue using DNA chip-based gene expression profile. METHODS:Two samples of oral squamous cel carcinoma tissue and normal paracarcinoma tissue of patients who received treatment at Stomatological Hospital of Guangdong Province of China in 2013 were included in this study. The gene expression profiles of oral squamous cel carcinoma and normal paracarcinoma tissue were determined by the Roche NimbleGen gene expression microarrays. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: According to screening criteria of differential genes, 7 872 out of 32 448 detected genes were differentialy expressed genes of oral squamous cel carcinoma, which accounts for 24% of the total number of the screening genes. 3 800 genes were up-regulated, and 4 072 were down-regulated. The results confirm that through detection with the help of gene expression profile clip, 7 872 differentialy expressed genes were obtained through DNA chip-based gene expression profiles according to the screening criteria. Thus it can be concluded that the occurrence and development of the tumors are not a result of single or several genes. Previous experiments based on a single or several genes have great limitations. These findings also suggest that the occurrence of tumor is a result of mutual regulatory effects of many genes forming a network, moreover, the interactions of the network is quite complicated.

Objective To investigate the value of permeability surface (PS) in predicting hemorrhagic transformation (HT) in acute ischernic stroke (AIS) using CT peffusion (CTP).Methods The study included 31 consecutive patients who presented symptoms suggestive of an AIS for 3-9 h. All patients underwent CT examination (noncontrast CT,CTP).HT was determined by follow-up CT images.According to presence of HT,the AIS was divided into HT group (PSHT,11 patients) and non-HT group(PSNo-HT,20 patients).PS,cerebral blood flow (CBF),cerebral blood volume (CBV) and mean transit time (MTT) on both sides of brains were measured.The relative PS(rPS),relative CBF (rCBF),relative CBV(rCBV) and relative MTT(rMTT) were obtained by calculating the ratio of the values of bilateral regions.The rPS between PSHT and PSNo-HT was compared with an exact Wilcoxon signed-rank test. The rCBF,rCBV,rMTT and the PS of the ischemic side between PSHr and PSNo-HT were compared with independent-sample t test.Meanwhile,Spearman rank correlation analysis was conducted to analyze the relationship between the CTP parameters and HT.ResultsThe PS value of ischemic side was (1.61±0.77) ml · min - 1 · 100 g-1 for the PSHT group,and the value was (0.91 ± 0.49) ml · min - 1 · 100 g- 1 for the PSNo-HT group.For the PSHT group,rPS,rCBF,rCBV,rMTT were 2.76 ±0.78,0.32 ±0.18,0.66 ±0.31,2.67 ±0.71,and for the PSNo-HT group,rPS,rCBF,rCBV,rMTT were 1.35 ±0.19,0.50±0.21,0.91 ±0.28,2.62 ± 1.31.Compared with PSNo-HT,PSHT had higher rPS and PS value,and there were significant statistical differences (U =0.000,t =3.070,P ＜0.01).But rCBF and rCBV values were lower in the PSHT group compared to the PSNo-HT group,and there were significant statistical differences (trCsF =2.343,trCBV =2.210,P ＜ 0.05).There was no significant statistical difference in rMTT between the two groups(t =0.118,P ＞ 0.05).Significant positive correlations were detected between the rPS and PS with HT(r=0.496,0.821,P ＜0.01).ConclusionsThe value of rPS is helpful in predicting HT in AIS.And it can be used as a predictor in determining clinical personalized treatment and thus reduce the incidence of adverse events.

OBJECTIVE:To provide reference for reducing the clinical return of finished infusions. METHODS:Interventions for clinical return of PIVAS finished infusions in our hospital were introduced,the return situation of finished infusions before(dur-ing 2013-2014)and after(during 2015-2016)intervention was compared,and intervention effects were evaluated. RESULTS:Our hospital intervened it by rationally selecting and using syringes,strengthening visible particle check of finished infusion before dis-tribution;optimizing the order of drug configuration,reasonably arranging the drug infusion sequence;strengthening the clean-up in work area before drug infusion,correctly using disinfectant;strictly implementing intravenous infusion associative operation, playing the role of pharmacists;cultivating good work habits,and strengthening teamwork,etc. Compared with before interven-tion,the return numbers of finished infusion were decreased by 41.2%,and reported loss amount reduced by 45.7%. The return caused by visibility particles,finished infusion oxidation discoloration after too long storage time,finished infusion leakage,contin-uous infusion of drugs compatibility,heterodyne error,improper drug configuration method in packaging to the ward,improper use of disinfectant before infusion decreased by 25.3%,46.9%,39.4%,77.8%,73.9%,75.0%,100%,respectively. CONCLU-SIONS:Intervening the return of finished infusion can reduce the return numbers and drug waste.

Objective:To optimize the preparation technology of rutin nanoemulsion. Methods:The pseudoternary phase diagram of rutin nanoemulsion under the condition of different Kmwas drawn. With the drug loading and the particle size as the independent var-iables,and the percent of oil and the weight ratio of surfactant to cosurfactant as the dependent variables, the blank formula of rutin nanoemulsion was optimized by central composite design-response surface method. Results:The optimal formula was as follows:the ra-tio of ethyl oleate, cremopher RH40,1,2-propanediol and water was 7: 13: 5: 25. The average particle size of the prepared rutin nanoemulsion was 26.51 nm,and the drug loading was 8.97 mg·ml-1. Conclusion:The central composite design-response surface method can obtain a good formula of rutin nanoemulison,and the model has a good predictive function.

Liposomal Brucine (LB) with high encapsulation efficiency (72%) and small particle diameter (mean particle diameter, 54 nm) was prepared by ethanol-dripping method. The safety and pharmacodynamic action of LB, a new transdermal preparation, were investigated in details with the use of white rabbits, guinea-pigs and mice, respectively. The tests revealed that LB had no acute toxicity to integral and broken skin, and had no allergic effects on skin. In writhing test, the analgesic effect of LB was higher than that of free brucine. The anti-inflammatory activity of LB was significantly higher than that of free brucine (P<0.01). Meanwhile, LB exhibited a better dose-response manner and a longer duration of analgesic effects. In conclusion, LB could reduce the toxicity of brucine, enhance the analgesic and antiinflammatory effects of brucine, and achieve its sustained-release.

Objective To explore the CT and MRI characteristics of hepatic epithelioid angiomyolipomas (H EA)in order to improve recognition and diagnostic accuracy of the disease.Methods The CT and MR imaging data of 8 patients with HEA proved by pathology were analyzed retrospectively.Among these patients,4 cases underwent plain and enhanced CT scans,2 plain and enhanced MRI scans and 2 both CT and MRI scans.Results In the 8 cases,7 were female.All lesions were solitary and well-defined,with maximum diameters ranging from 42 mm to 68 mm.6 leions on plain CT displayed slightly low density,of which 1 showed fat density and other 2 showed patchy cystic areas.MRI showed 4 masses with slight hypointensity on T1 WI,slight hyperintensity or hyperintensity on T2 WI,of which one demonstrated decreased signal on out-phase of T1 WI.On enhanced MR images,7 masses were significantly inhomogeneous in arterial phase,5 showed "fast wash-in and slow wash-out",2 "fast wash-in and wash-out"and 1 "slow wash-in and wash-out".6 showed"central vascular sign"in arterial phase and 2 displayed incomplete pseudocapsule in the portal venous and delayed phases.Conclusion Inhomogeneous enhancement in arterial phase,central vascular sign,fast wash-in and slow wash-out enhancement and no pseudocapsule are imaging features of HEA,which can help to improve the diagnostic accuracy.Its diagnosis still depends on histopathology and immunohistochemistry.
