Net present value (NPV) is explained as follows:If the difference between the net cash inflow of the years within the lifespan of an investment project and the initial investment amount is greater than zero after being converted to present value,it proves the project as financially feasible.With a computerized laminagram camera of the radiology department of a hospital as example,the paper described the use of NPV in performance appraisal of large medical equipments.NVP can scientifically evaluate investment performance of the equipment,and remedy weakness of the recovery period method,making it highly practical.Better hospital information system serves as the cornerstone for more accurate net present value indicators.Reinforced management for equipment controllable costs and cutback of cash outflow are effective means to upgrade equipment performance.

Due to their potential application as novel antibiotics, antimicrobial peptides are attracting much attention. Large quantities of highly purified peptides are crucial to basic and clinical studies. Natural resources of antimicrobial peptides are limited and hard to purify, chemical synthesis is of high-cost and unstable, so recombinant expression of antimicrobial peptides is a cost-effective way. Escherichia coli has been the most widely used as host to express antimicrobial peptides with fusion protein, which can not only avoid the lethal effect towards the host, but also protect the peptide from degradation by proteases. Combined with our research, the present article reviews the progress of fusion vector, cleavage methods and optimization options for antimicrobial peptides production with fusion protein in Escherichia coli.

Biomacromolecules play an important role in the treatment of many diseases, but as a result of cell membrane serving as the natural barriers, only the small molecular compounds whose molecular weights are smaller than 600 Da can get through cell membrane and enter the cell. In recent years, some short peptides (the length less than 30 amino acids) are found to have the cell-penetrating function, called cell-penetrating peptides (CPPs). They are able to effectively translocate segments of protein, polypeptides, nucleic acid into the cells of many mammal animals with many methods. They have high transduction efficiency and will not lead to cell damage. So, the discovery of CPPs has a very good applicable prospect in such research fields as cell-biology, gene-therapy, drug transduction in vivo, evaluation of clinical medicine and medical immunology. This paper reviews the types and characteristics of CPPs, internalization mechanisms, applications, and their existing problems.

Objective A survey was conducted to learn the status of award winning for science and technology achievement among the medical institutions ranked level 2 and above in Sichuan province,to learn the research capacity in such medical institutions,and to provide the basis for research management and health decision.Methods Questionnaire survey was carried out among 555 hospitals ranked level 2 and above in Sichuan province,information on award winning for science and technology achievement during 2010 -2012 was collected and analyzed.Results Only 33％ of those medical institutions were awarded for their achievement in research with total number of 882 awards in three years:300,266,and 316 awards were obtained in 2010,2011 and 2012,respectively.Conclusions In the medical organization of Sichuan province,the number of awards of scientific and technological achievements showed no significant increase with an volatility state,and the overall level of award need to be improved.Awarded Research areas were mainly on clinical research-based,especially on surgery department.Most award winning hospitals are level 3,and the general hospitals win more award than specialized hospitals;furthermore,hospitals located in different regions are quite different in terms of award winning.

Objective To observe the porcelain treated with Nd∶YAG laser irradiation and hydrofluoric acid (HF), and to explore the influence of integrated treatment of Nd ∶ YAG laser irradiation and HF etching in the bond strength of brackets to porcelain.Methods 48 metal ceramic prostheses were randomly divided into untreated control group,HF group,grooved treatment group,0.75W laser group,1.05W laser group,1.45W laser group. All samples were bonded to the brackets.After temperature cycling test,the shear bond strength (SBS)and tensile bond strength (TBS)were measured.Results There were significant differences in SBS and TBS between various surface treatment groups and untreated control group (P < 0.01).The SBS and TBS of brackets bonded in HF group was significantly higher than those in 1.05W laser and 1.45W laser groups (P <0.05).The SBS and TBS in 1.05W laser and 1.45W laser groups were higher than those in HF group (P <0.05).The SBS and TBS in 1.05W laser group were higher than those in other groups (P < 0.05).SBS showed positive correlation with TBS (r =0.426,P =0.000).Conclusion The use of Nd∶YAG laser irradiation with the energy parameter of 1.05W and HF could increase the bonding with formation of composite resin,and the more SBS,the more TBS.

Objective To assess which of topical tacrolimus and topical highly potent steroids,is more effective and safer in the treatment of pediatric vitiligo.Methods The PubMed,Cochrane library,Scopus and CINAHL plus databases were retrieved.The search was confined to English language articles.The randomized controlled trial(RCT) articles were included in our study.The quality of the identified articles was examined by using the CASP Randomised Controlled Trials Checklist.Results As a result,there were only a few studies related to the comparison.However,there were only two RCTs regarding a comparison of topical tacrolimus 0.1％ and clobetasol propionate 0.05 ％ in childhood vitiligo.Conclusion When the body surface area (BSA) involved in the child is ＜20 ％,and the disease is not rapidly spreading,topical therapy is the first choice.Topical tacrolimus may be considered as an alternative therapy for childhood vitiligo,especially for acrofacial and segmental types,before considering other modalities,but still need to observe long-term side effects.

Objective To investigate the effect mechanism of sanguinarine on the proliferation,apoptosis,invasion and migration abilities of cervical cancer cells.Methods MTT,flow cytometer,cell scratch test and Transwell chamber assay were respectively used to detect the cellular proliferation,apoptosis,migration and invasion abilities after sanguinarine action.The expression levels of E-Cadherin,PTEN,β-catenin and MMP2 protein of cervical cancer cells after sanguinarine action were detected by Western blot.Results 0.6,0.8 μmol/L sanguinarine had the inhibitory effect on the proliferation of cervical cancer cells.After 0.8μmol/L sanguinarine action for 48 h,cervical cancer HeLa and Siha cells apoptosis rate were up to (45.68± 2.26)％ and(31.89 ± 3.80)％ respectively.0.8 μmol/L sanguinarine action for 3 h,cervical cancer cells HeLa and Siha adhesion rates were only (67.45 ± 2.13)％and(73.59± 2.61)％.0.8 mol/L sanguinarine action for 16 h,the invasion numbers of cervical cancer Hela and Siha cell were (39.64 ±1.98) and (43.87 ± 2.83) respectively.The expression amount of E-Cadherin and PTEN in cervical cancer cells after sanguinarine action was increased,while the expression amount of E-Cadherin and PTEN was weakened.Conclusion Sanguinarine has the proliferation inhibiting and apoptosis promoting effect on cervical cancer cells,its mechanism may be related to adhesion protein E-Cadherin,β-catenin and PTEN,MMP2.

Objective:To sum up nursing experience of a multi-drug resistant patient with upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage who underwent Lateral skull base.Methods:One patient with multi-drug resistant was admitted to our hospital in October, 2019. To observe and prevent the postoperative complications of lateral skull base and to prevent the rupture bleeding of carotid artery. The early detection and treatment the symptoms of upper gastrointestinal bleeding is effective and necessary. Intervention for patient receiving nutrition therapy is promoted.Results:By giving psychological care to improve patient compliance. The patient had no postoperative complications of lateral skull base, and the bleeding symptoms of upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage was controlled in time.Conclusion:The patient was discharged from the hospital with a tracheal tube in a stable condition.
