Objective To analyze the clinicopathologic features of primary cutaneous CD30 positive lymphoproliferative disorders. Methods A clinical, pathological and immunohistochemical analysis was carried out in 4 cases of lymphomatoid papulosis and 5 cases of primary cutaneous anaplastic large cell lymphoma. Results Lymphomatoid papulosis was divided into 3 subtypes, A, B and C. The lymphomatoid papulosis of subtype A was pathologically characterized by pleomorphic anaplastic large cells or Steinberg-reed cells scattered or patchly distributed among many inflammatory cells; subtype B showed pathological changes characteristic of granuloma fungoides, and manifested as a broad infiltration zone of lymphocytes in dermis with scattered small- to middle-sized atypical gyrus-like lymphocytes; subtype C was characterized by a diffuse distribution of anaplastic large cells and could clinically subside spontaneously. Primary cutaneous anaplastic large cell lymphoma clinically manifested as subcutaneous nodules or papules, and was pathologically characterized by large, pleomorphic, round or ellipse cells with plentiful, eosinophilic or bicolor cytoplasm, large nuclei and obvious nucleoli. The neoplastic cells characteristically expressed CD30 antigen in both lymphomatoid papulosis and primary cutaneous anaplastic large cell lymphoma, and all the cases showed a favorable prognosis. Conclusions Primary cutaneous CD30 positive lymphoproliferative disorders are a spectrum of cutaneous T cell lymphoma with favorable prognosis, and a synthetic analysis of clinical, histopathological and immunohistochemical findings is beneficial to the diagnosis of these entities.

Objective To observe the uhrasenographical characters of liver and spleen of residents and their changes in endearic areas of schistosomiasis japonica in Poyang Lake region.Jiangxi Province and to explore the value of ultrasonography for assessment of the morbidity of the disease. Methods All permanent residents aged above 3 years old were examined by ultrasonography and Kato-Katz method. Results The schistosome positive rates of fecal examinations decreased obviously from 16.29%in 1995 to 8.54%in 2007(P<0.01).However,the rates of hepatomegaly and splenomegaly between 1995 and 2007 were not significantly changed(P>0.05),with the rates of 8.82% and 20.33% in 1995 and 8.54% and 21.34% in 2007,respectively.The abnormal rate of portal vein diameter decreased significantly.from 32.47%in 1995 to 6.50% in 2007.The abnormal rate of liver parenehyma increased remarkably(P<0.01),from 34.85% to 51.83%.The changes of liver parenchyma Grade I showed a bidirectional trend,29.90% of them chased into Grade 0(normal image on ultrasonngraphy),and 34.02% changed into Grade 2 and above. The abnormality of various indices of uhrasonography examinations were related to age, occupation and schistesome infection status. Conclusions Ultrasonography can show the damages of liver and spleen of patients infected with Schistosoma japonicum directly.but it is necessary to study further on the sensitive indices that reflecting early pathological changes and the best combination of the indices for the assessment of schistosomiasis-related morbidity.

This study was aimed to compare HHGV678 with imatinib (IM) in growth inhibition of Bcr-Abl wild type and IM-resistant cell lines, investigate the possibility of replacing IM with HHGV678 in treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and IM-resistant CML patients. Viability of two Bcr-Abl wild type cell lines (K562 and 32Dp210) and 16 IM-resistant cell lines (K562R and 15 Bcr-Abl point mutant cell lines) treated with HHGV678 and IM was analyzed by MTT. The apoptosis of those cells was identified by flow cytometry with Annexin V staining and DNA ladder analysis. Western blot was applied for detecting the expression of Bcr-Abl and phosphotyrosine protein levels. The results indicated that HHGV678 significantly inhibited the growth of two Bcr-Abl wild types and IM-resistant cell lines in dose-dependent manner except cell line of T315I point mutant. IC(50) results showed that the growth inhibition of HHGV678 was 15.5 and 28-fold higher than that of IM in K562, 32Dp210 and 1.4 to 124.3-fold higher than that of IM in 15 IM-resistant cell lines respectively. Compared with IM, HHGV678 more significantly inhibited phosphotyrosine kinase protein of the cells mentioned above at different concentrations. With most importance, HHGV678 of 10.0 micromol/L induced cell apoptosis of 40.06% and 33.32% in K562R and 32Dp210(T315I) cell lines, which were much higher than that of IM (19.77% and 10.68%). It is concluded that HHGV678 is more effective than IM in the growth inhibition of Bcr-Abl wild type cell lines and IM-resistant cell lines, especially in strongest IM-resistant cell lines. Further studies are needed to show whether HHGV678 may be a novel targeting drug in treatment of CML and IM-resistant CML patients.
