Objective To explore the prevention and treatment effect and its mechanism of Xuebijing injec-tion combined with dexamethasone on rats' paraqnat-induced acute and chronic pulmonary injury.Method One hundred and twenty of male Wistar rats were randomly divided into six groups:nomud group(A),administrated with saline;model group(B)and treatment groups(group C,D,E,F)were given 20%PQ(100 mg/kg.ip),and 2 hours later the normal and model groups were administrated with the same volume of saline for treatment,rats in group C and group D received 1.25 g/kg and 2.5 g/kg Xuebijing injection respectively.rdts in group E received 25,ng/kg dexamethasone,rats in group F receired 2.5 g/kg Xuebijing injection combined with 2.5 g/kg dexamethasone,one time per day till to be killed,while rats killed at 28 d were treated for 7 days.At 2 d,3 d,4 d after poisoned,five rats in each group were killed,serum SOD,MDA level and arterial gas(at 3 d)were measured.At 28 d,the rest of rats were killed,and serum TGF-β1,lung tissure HYP were measured.The pathology of the lung tissue was ob-served at 3 d and 28 d in guoup A,B,F.Results Compared with group B,poisoning symptoms in the treatment groups were milder and serum.SOD,MDA,TGV-β1,lung tissure HYP level were better,arterial oxygen content were higer.Among treatment groups,the treatment effects in group F were the best,SOD and MDA of 3 d,HYP and TGF-β1 of 28 d in group B and F were respectively(37.47±13.00,91.86±21.35)nmol/mL;(11.34±3.07,5.63±1.58)nmoL/mL;(2.54±0.63,1.32±0.07)mg/g;(484.13±63.79,202.22±49.83)pg/mL.The difference was significant(P＜0.05).The pathology of the lung tissue showed that acute lung hemorrhage,edema or chronic pulmonary fibrosis in group F were milder than that of group B.Conclusions In early stage,Xuebijing injection combined with dexamethasone has a stronger ability to clear out oxidized free radical and inhibit lipid super oxidized reaction.This may ameliorate acute pulmonary blooding and edema.In later stage,they could ameliorate chronic pulmonary fibrosis by inhibiting TGF-β1 secretion and HYP generation.

The present study aimed to investigate the impact of hypothyroidism on left ventricular systolic function using real-time three-dimensional speckle tracking imaging (RT3D-STI). Thirty hypothyroidism patients and forty healthy volunteers were recruited and received RT3DSTI measurement of global longitudinal strain (GLS), global circumferential strain (GCS), global radial strain (GRS), and global area strain (GAS). A comparison of differences between the hypothyroidism patients and those in the healthy group was carried out and we obtained the results as followings. The values of GLS were (-18.93 +/- 3.89) vs. (-21.44 +/- 1.99), with P < 0.01, GRS were (51.13 +/- 11.95) vs. (56.10 +/- 5.76), with P < 0.0; and GAS were (-31.63 +/- 5.38) vs. (-34.40 +/- 2.32), with P < 0.01, i.e. they were lower in hypothyroidism group than those in the health group. While GCS were (-17.75 +/- 1.92) vs. 17.03 +/- 3.45), with P > 0.05, which were not significantly different between the two groups. In linear regres sion, GLS showed significant correlation with both TSH (b = -0.69, P < 0.01) and FT3 (b = 0.71, P < 0.01). Meanwhile, the GRS (b = 2.98, P < 0.05) and GAS (b = 3.11, P < 0.05) linearly correlated with FT3 level. In conclusion, the present study shows that the global longitudinal and radial moves of left ventricular are weaker in patients with hypothyroidism than healthy controls. And the impairment of left ventricular function would aggravate as FSH rises or FT3 declines.

Objective To explore the possible mechanism and protective effect of Xuebijing injection (血必净注射液)and dexamethasone on rats with paraquat-induced chronic pulmonary injury.Methods Thirty male Wistar rats were randomly divided into six groups:normal group(n=5),model group(n=5), treatment groups(n=20).In the normal group,normal saline was used,while in the other groups,20% paraquat 80 mg/kg was injected peritoneally for poisoning.After 2 hours of intoxication,low dose Xuebijing injection(1.25 g/kg),high dose Xuebijing injection(2.50 g/kg),dexamethasone(25 mg/kg),high dose Xuebijing injection combined with dexamethasone(combined group)respectively were administered into the four different treatment groups,equal amount of normal saline was given to the normal and model groups,and the treatment continued for 4 days.At 28 days after paraquat injection,5 rats in each group were killed respectively,serum transforming growth factor-?1(TGF-?1)and hydroxyproline(HYP)level in the lung homogenate were measured,and pulmonary coefficient and histological changes were observed.Results In the treatment groups,the levels of serum TGF-?1 and lung tissue HYP,pulmonary coefficient were leas than those of model group,and among the treatment groups,combined group had the best results(all P

Objective To study the relationships among resilience, self-awareness, personality, stress level and mental health in the warship soldiers. Methods Resilience Scale for Adults ( RSA), Eysenck Personality Questionnaire ( EPQ), Self Acceptance Questionnaire( SAQ), General Self-Efficacy Scale( GSES), Wallance Self Concept Scale (WSCS), Psychological Stress Self-evaluation Test (PSET) and Symptom Checklist (SCL-90)were used to survey 1451 warship soldiers. Results ① 2.5％ of the warship soldiers reported obvious psychological stress. Mental health of warship soldiers was worse than the norm of China population, except for obsessivecompulsive and interpersonal sensitivity factor. While the scores of other factors were significantly higher than the norm of Chinese soldiers(P＜0.01). ②The total scores of SCL-90, psychological stress and resilience, internal/external had negative correlation with self-awareness, and positive correlation with neuroticism. Compared to the SCL-90-negative group,SCL-90-positive soldiers (SCL-90 total score ＞ 160) had higher scores of nervousness and PSET and lower scores of RSA, internal/external and self-awareness (P ＜ 0.01 ). ③Regression analysis showed that stress levels, emotional stability,self-awareness and resilience were able to predict 35.1％ of mental health in warship soldiers. Mental health, emotional stability, internal/external and resilience were able to predict 33.2％of individual's stress level. Conclusion To some extent, warship soldiers have psychological stress and mental health problems. Resilience, personality, self-awareness are important factors affecting psychological stress and mental health.

Objective To investigate the correlation between specific features on contrast-enhanced CT and its clinical findings of adrenal tuberculosis so as to improve the diagnostic accuracy of the disease. Methods Contrast-enhanced CT features in 30 patients with documented adrenal tuberculosis were retrospectively evaluated blindly for the features of location,size,morphology,attenuation and enhancement patterns on CT images,and compared with clinical and pathological materials.Results The common CT manifestations were as follows:enlargement of the adrenal glands in all 30 cases(bilateral 90%,mfilateral 10%)including mass-like enlargement in 13 cases and enlargement but the contours preserved in 17 cases, heterogeneity(28 cases,93.3%),calcification(17 cases,56.7%),and low attenuation in the center with peripheral enhancement(16 cases,53.3%)of the lesions.After antituberculosis chemotherapy, 5 cases of enlarged adrenal glands decreased in size or returned to normal size and configuration,with disappearance of the central low attenuation and new appearance of dot-like calcification in 2 cases.Cochran Armitage trend test showed there was an increasing tendency of calcification rate with clinical duration(X~2= 7.47,P

Objective To investigate the effect of intra-articular carboxymethylated ehitosan(CM- CTS)injection on inducible nitric oxide synthase(iNOS)expression in cartilage at the early stage of os- teoarthfitis(OA).Methods Thirty-two white rabbits were underwent unilateral anterior cruciate ligament transection(ACLT)and were randomly divided into 4 groups 5 weeks after transection.Rabbits of group A re- ceived 0.3 ml of 2% high molecular weight CMCTS(H-CMCTS)once every two weeks.Rabbits in group B were treated using 2% low molecular weight(L-CMCTS)CMCTS at:the same intervals.Group C rabbits were injected intra-articularly with 0.3 ml of 1% sodium hyaluronate(Na-HA)once a week.Animals of group D were not injected.At sacrifice,11 weeks following surgery,the expression of iNOS in cartilages was analyzed by immunohistochemistry and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)methods.Results Both immunohistochemistry and RT-PCR showed that the level of iNOS expression of cartilage in CMCTS in- jection groups was lower than that in Na-HA injection group and the untreated group.There was no significant difference in iNOS expression between the two different molecular weight CMCTS injection groups. No signifi- cant difference of iNOS expression in cartilage was found between Na-HA injection group and the untreated group.Conclusion CMCTS suppresses iNOS expression in cartilage during the early stage of OA.Na-HA treatment has no effect on iNOS expression in cartilage.

Objective To investigate the relationship between maternal weight gain and the increasing speed of weight in different pregnant terms and macrosomia.In order to reasonably manage pregnancy and decrease the morbidity of maerosomia.Methods 106 newborns whose birth weights were equal to or greater than 4000 g were specified as macrosomia,while 106 newborn with birth weights lying in 2500-3999 g were under the control group.A case-control study was conducted to compare the corresponding factors such as maternal BMI.weight before pregnancy and the change of weight during pregnancy respectively.Results Indicated by both simple and multiple unconditional logistic regression analysis,the cause of fetal macrosomia Was mainly associated with the factors including the maternal weight before pregnancy(OR=2.204,95％CI:1.377-3.529),matemal weight gain in 12-pregnant weeks(kgper week)(OR=1.961,95％CI:1.204-3.194),maternal weight gain in 20-gestation weeks(kg perweek)(OR=1.811,95％CI:1.078-3.041),maternal weight gain in 30-pregnant weeks(kg per week)(OR=1.858,95％CJ:1.095-3.153)and virile newborn(OR=2.630,95％CJ:1.420.4.850.When in 30-pregnant weeks.the pregnant women with 0.5-1.0 kg weight gain per week had 1.13 fold risks comparing to those whose weight gains were lexq than 0.5 kg per week.Conclusion Maternal weight before pregnancy,weight gain during pregnancy and fetal sex appeared a closer relation to macrosomia.It is necessary to monitor the change of maternal weight during different pregnancy periods,especially for the 30th-pregnant weeks.

Objective To study the effects of resilience training on work fatigue,psychological stress and mental health in warship soldiers.Methods100 warship soldiers were selected and divided randomly into training-group (n=45) and control group (n=55),and the training group was divided into two groups by casting lots ( n t =22,n 2 =23 ).The shedding rate of the training group was 13％ (6 out of 45 ),while the control group was 10％ (5 out of 50).All of them were tested by the Resilience Scale for Adults ( RSA),Newly Developed Questionnaire for Work Related Fatigue Feelings (WRFFQ),Psychological Stress Self-evaluation Test (PSET) and Symptom Checklist (SCL-90) before and after training.According to resilience theory and its elements to design the group-training,10 times resilience training was arranged 2 hours once per week for the training group.The aim was to train members' self-awareness,emotion management,interpersonal communication,problem solving and social support and other capabilities.Before training there were no significant differences between the training-group and control-group in age,military service,job and education level and total average score of RSA,WRFFQ score,PSET standard scores and the SCL-90 total average score (P＞ 0.05 ).Results ①Compared with the pre-test resuits,the RSA ( 2.90 + 0.47) scores of training-group ( n =39) significantly increased after training,but the scores of WRFFQ(33.62 ± 11.24),PSET(47.80 ±9.09) and 5CL-90( 1.14 ±0.09) significantly reduced (P＜0.05) ;For control group ( n =50),no significant differences were found in scores of RSA (2.56 + 0.57 ),WRFFQ (42.38± 17.76),PSET( 53.70 ± 13.25) and SCL-90( 1.43 ± 0.45 ) (P＞0.05 ) ; ②Compared to the control group,posttest scores of RSA significantly increased,but the scores of WRFFQ,PSET and SCL-90 significantly decreased for the training-group(P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion Resilience training can effectively improve warship soldiers' resilience,increase their anti-stress ability and mental health level and reduce fatigue symptoms.

BackgroundIt is important to measure the corneal curvature, anterior chamber depth (ACD) and axial length accurately for calculating IOL power. The interchange outcomes from different measuring methods and apparatus will cause unreliable IOL power. ObjectiveThe present study was to compare the differences of corneal curvature, anterior chamber depth (ACD) measured by IOLMaster and Orbscan Ⅱbefore and after laser in situ keratomileusis(LASIK) and further compare the axial length measured by IOLMaster and A-ultrasound. Methods One hundred and thirty eyes from 65 consecutive myopic patients before LASIK and 56 eyes of 28 cases with 1-month follow-up duration after LASIK in Henan Eye Institute were enrolled in this study. The K value, ACD between IOLMaster and Orbscan Ⅱ as well as results of axial length between IOLMaster and A-ultrasound were compared by using paired t test. The agreements of the measured values among IOLMaster, Orbscan Ⅱ and A-ultrasound were evaluated using Bland-Altman plot. ResultsBefore LASIK,the K value measured by IOLMaster,Orbscan Ⅱ were ( 43.32 ± 1.52 ) D and ( 42.99 ± 1.45 ) D respectively with the difference value of( 0. 33 ±0. 03 ) D, showing a significant difference(t=10. 380,P=0.000) and a positive relation between them(r=0.971,P=0.000). After LASIK,the K value measured by IOLMaster, Orbscan Ⅱwere(39. 02±2. 14) D and ( 38.91 ±2. 04) D with the difference value (0. 12±0. 33 ) D, presenting a significant differences between them (t =2.715, P =0.009). Bland-Altman plots indicated the disagreement in K value and uninterchangeable. Before LASIK, the ACD measured by IOLMaster,Orbscan Ⅱ and A-ultrasound were ( 3.72 ± 0. 22 ) mm, ( 3.69 ±0. 22 ) mm and ( 3.75± 0.27 )mm respectively and no significant differences were found between them (P ＞ 0. 05 ). Axial length measured by IOLMaster significantly prolonged in comparison with A-ultrasound(25.59± 1. 01 mm vs 25.22±0.99 mm ) , and the difference was( -0. 37 ±0. 30 ) mm, showing significant difference ( t =- 14. 098, P =0. 000 ) and positive correlation ( r =0. 954, P =0. 000 ). Axial length values measured by IOLMaster were ( 25.54 ± 1.05 ) mm in preoperation and ( 25.48 ± 1.01 ) mm in postoperation with the difference (0.052±0. 412)mm, showing statistically insignificant difference between them (t=0. 946,P=0. 348). ConclusionsKeratometries measured by IOLMaster,Orbscan Ⅱ are much more different. Therefore,these two methods are not recommended to use interchangely. ACD measured by IOLMaster,Orbscan Ⅱ and A ultrasound are proved to obtain the similar results and is clinically interchange. Axial length measured by IOLMaster is longer than that measured by A-ultrasound.
