2.Effect of Permeation Enhancers on the Percutaneous Absorption of Artesunate in Vitro

IPA.Skin permeation was significantly enhanced by increasing the loading concentration of OA or NMP,larger IPA amount(8%) or PG amount(20%) could inhibit the permeation of artesunate.Conclusion Oleic acid was found to be the most efficient enhancer for artesunate,10% is the most effective concentration.

4.Determination of the Content of Morphine in Pipazhike Soft Capsules by SEP-HPLC

OBJECTIVE:To establish a method for determination of Morphine in Pipazhike soft capsules by using SPE-HPLC.METHODS:SPE condition:C18 cartridge.15mL MeOH-water(3∶ 1)and 5mL water were used as elution solvent.RESULTS:Morphine had a good linearity in the rang of 0.233 5~ 1.868 0? g(r=0.999 9).The average recovery rate was 97.6%(RSD=1.2%,n=5).CONCLUSION:This method is simple,accurate,and reproducible,and can be used to effectively control the content of Morphine in Pipazhike soft capsules.
5.The clinicopathological difference between male and female breast cancer

Objective To compare the clinical-pathology features between male breast cancer ( MBC) and female breast cancer(FBC)patients.Methods Clinical data of 37 MBC and 300 FBC patients admitted in the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from Jun .2003 to Jun.2013 was retrospectively reviewed . Results The ratio of MBC to FBC was 54:10000.The age of MBC patients ranged from 39 to 80 years with the median age of 62 years old, older than FBC patients(t=3.117, P=0.002).The percentage of invasive ducal carcinoma was much higher in MBC patients than in FBC patients (χ2 =7.535,P=0.023).MBC patients in clinically stage III and IV were more than FBC patients (χ2 =16.471,P=0.000).The positive rate of estrogen receptor(ER)was significantly higher in MBC patients than in FBC patients (χ2 =6.294,P=0.043).The posi-tive rate of human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 ( HER2 ) was lower in MBC patients than in FBC patients (χ2 =11.222,P=0.004).The main surgical method of MBC was modified radical mastectomy , and there was no breast-conserving surgery for MBC, while the surgical method of FBC was various (χ2 =7.720,P=0.021). Conclusion There are significant differences between FBC and MBC patients in clinicopathological features , surgical method and even prognosis , which were important to guide the treatment of MBC and FBC .

7.Repairing effect of embryonic stem cells on injured maternal myocardium in pregnant mice

Objective To determine if fetal stem cells can enter the maternal circulation during pregnancy and re-pair the injuries of maternal heart.Methods C57 female mice at the age of 6-8 weeks were randomly assigned to three groups:sham control, surgery without pregnancy, and surgery with pregnancy ( n=8,eath group) .The control sham group was developed by opening and closing of the chest.The other two groups underwent heart surgery.The myocardial infarc-tion ( MI) model was induced by ligation of the left anterior descending coronary artery.Half of the surgical mice mated with e-GFP transgenic male mice, and another half group was not.Electrocardiogram ( ECG) and echocardiographic images were recorded at pre-operation, post-operation and postpartum.The collected data were used to evaluate the heart function. The GFP expression was detected by immunohistochemistry and q-PCR.Results When compared with the sham group, both the ischemia surgery groups with and without pregnancy, the ECG ST segment was significantly increased.This meas-urement indicated that the myocardial ischemia surgery was successful, and no significant difference in the ST segments be-tween two ischemia surgery groups was found.However, when ECG was measured in the surgical mice after postpartum, their myocardial ischemia was dramatically improved when compared with that of the ischemia surgery only mice.Echocar-diographic images also indicated that both the surgery groups had myocardial ischemia, however, no significant difference was observed in the pregnant mice before and after postpartum.The order of the cardiac function indexes from high to low was the sham group, surgery with pregnancy group, and surgery with no pregnancy group;in particular, the cardiac func-tion of pregnancy group was significantly enhanced compared with that of the surgery with no pregnancy group (P<0.05). More importantly, both immunofluorescence and q-PCR results showed that the embryonic stem cell translocation through circulation system with GFP expression in the heart of pregnancy group, while negative in other two groups.Conclusions Embryonic stem cells can be transferred into the maternal circulation of pregnant mice, and play a role in the repairing of their cardiac injuries.
8.The influence of N-back working memory training with Gabor signal on visual function and fluid intelligence

ObjectiveTo investigate influence on adults'visual function and fluid intelligence with N-back working memory training based on Gabor signal.MethodsControlling group including 13 adults had no training,training group including 14 adults received an eight-days training,half an hour a day.The stimulus was N-back training which has on improved Gabor signal with adjustable spatial frequency and contrast sensitivity.The contrast sensitivity and fluid intelligence were record using OPTEC 6500 and Raven's Standard Progressive Matrices before and after training,then the data was analyzed and processed by SPSS.ResultsContrast sensitivity:there was a siguificant different of the contrast sensitivity between pretest and posttest ( ( 1.93 ± 0.17 ) log,( 1.76 ±0.20 ) log) in training group ( t =-4.579,P =0.001 ).Fluid intelligence:there was a significant different of fluid intelligence between pretest and posttest( ( 129.9 ± 9.0 ) scores,( 113.7 4-16.0 ) scores ) in training group ( t =-4.373,P =0.001 ),and superior to controlling group,which also had a statistical significance (F =1.353,P =0.004).ConclusionThe method of N-back working memory training based on Gabor signal not only enhances working memory and fluid intelligence,but also improves the visual function effectively,and more various effect is acquired comparing to traditional training method.
9.Application of Millikan's modified modality in primary tension-free mesh-plug inguinal herniorrhaphy

Objective To summarize the clinical efficacy of Millikan's modified modality using tension-free mesh-plug inguinal herniorrhaphy. Methods A retrospective study was performed in 185 cases with in-guinal hernias. They received surgical treatment using Millikan's modality in our hospital from Jan. 2005 to Dec. 2006. Results There were 184 males and 1 female in these patients with a average age of 47 years ( range 32 - 75 years). Among them, 7 cases had bilateral hernia. The mean operative time of each hernia was 49 min (range 30 -70 min), and the average postoperative hospital stay was 5. 1 days (range 3 - 18 d). The complication rate was 10. 8% (20/185). All patients had no recurrence after following-up over 24 months. Conclusion Millikan's modified mesh-plug hemioplasty is a safe and effective modality in the pri-mary inguinal hernia repair, and has fewer complications and lower recurrence rate.
10.Study on blood zinc levels and significance of metallothionein expression in rats with diabetic foot ulcer

diabeticfoot ulcer of rats induced by streptozotosin,and to find the significance of free radical scavenging and the antioxidative function.MethodsA total of 60 male wistar rats were randomized into the control group (20 rats) and diabetic model group (40 rats).The model group was induced to diabetic foot ulcer using streptozotosin tail intravenous injection,and the control group was injected equal citric acid-citric acid sodium buffer fluid instead.A rectangular full-thickness skin of dorsum of foot in the two groups was removed from model rats to construct diabetic foot ulcer.Serum zinc levels of the two groups were monitored,and immunohistochemical technique was used to detect the MT expression.ResultsSerum zinc levels in the model group( 1.17 ±0.09) was significantly lower than control group( 1.48 ±0.07),and the difference was statistically significant ( t =12.94,P <0.01 ).The MT expression in control group was low,while it significantly increased in diabetic model group,and the difference was statistically significant ( x2 =12.78,P < 0.01 ).ConclusionsThe zinc levels and MT expression of diabetic foot ulcer rats may be associated with free radical scavenging and the antioxidative function.The increased expression of MT may play an important role in preventing the further development of diabetic foot ulcer disease.
