OBJECTIVE To study the clinical and radiological characteristics of jugular foramen tumors.METHODS The clinical data of 32 patients with tumors of jugular foramen region treated from May 2006 to December 2009 were retrospectively reviewed.All patients were referred to systematic imaging examination of the temporal bone,such as CT(X-ray computed tomography) and MRI(magnetic resonance).Twenty two patients were further examined by angiography and embo1ized 24 hours before operation.Thirty one patients underwent different operations via different approaches, while one patient with glomus jugular tumor didn't receive operation because of fever caused by sigmoid sinus thrombophlebitis.According to pathologic examination, 21 cases were glomus jugular tumors, 10 cranial nerve neurilemmomas.RESULTS In the 32 cases, the major initial clinical symptoms of jugular foramen tumors were tinnitus,hearing loss and facial palsy.Bone erosion and the "salt and pepper" sign were the characteristic appearance of glomus jugular tumor.Neurilemmoma showed compressive bone change, cystic area and moderate enhancement on CT.CONCLUSION The combination of CT and MRI examination is benefit for both diagnosis and the choice of surgical plan.

? AlM: To examine choroidal thickness and its relationship with axial length and spherical equivalent by spectral domain optical coherence tomography ( SD -OCT ) in patients with myopic choroidal neovascularization ( mCNV) .
?METHODS: We prospectively recruited 30 cases of mCNV in Beijing Anzhen Hospital from October 2010 to December 2014. SD-OCT was used to measure choroidal thickness subfoveally and at 1. 5mm superiorly, inferiorly, nasally and temporally ( SFCT, SCT1. 5mm , lCT1. 5mm , NCT1. 5mm , TCT1. 5mm ) . Paired t- test was conducted to assess the difference of spherical equivalent, axial length and choroidal thickness between mCNV group and controls. Logistic regression analysis was performed to evaluate the correlation between spherical equivalent, axial length, choroidal thickness and mCNV.
?RESULTS: The difference of spherical equivalent and axial length between mCNV group and controls was not significant (P>0. 05). lnferior was decreased in mCNV group compared with controls (140. 85±33. 46μm vs 168. 95±45. 36μm). The difference was significant (P=0. 008). Logistic regression demonstrated that decreased choroidal thickness ( lCT1. 5mm ) at inferior location was associated with mCNV (OR=2. 12;95%CI 1. 35~3. 28;P=0. 02).
?CONCLUSlON: The decrease of lCT1. 5MM may be one of the risk factors of mCNV.

METHODS Western-blot was performed to detect the protein expression of ClC-3 in PC12 cells. MTT assay was used to measure the effect of ClC-3 antisense oligonucleotide on growth inhibition induced by thapsigargin. The effect of ClC-3 antisense oligonucleotide on apoptosis was studied with the fluorescent microscopy, DNA agarose gel electrophoresis, flow cytometry analysis. Objective To investigate the efficacy of lamivudine( LAM) combined with thymosin ?1 (T?1) on young patients with chronic hepatitis B. Methods Sixty six chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients aged from 12 to 16 years and weight greater than 33 kg were divided into the LAM + T?1 group and the LAM group; in LAM + T?1 group,T?1 was administered 1.6 mg hypodermic once daily and after 5 days it was changed to 1 6 mg hypodermic, twice in two weeks, and the drug was stopped after 26 weeks, while LAM had been administered 100 mg each time once daily for 52 weeks. In LAM group, only LAM had been administered 100 mg once daily for 52 weeks. The serum level of HBV DNA, HBV markers and the ALT were measured before and after treatment Results After the treatment, the rate of serum HBV UNA turned to negative in LAM + T?1 group was 100 % , and that in LAM group was 93.7 % ; recovery ratios at 52 weeks of LAM+ T?1 group was 87.1% ,and that of LAM group was 78. 1% .After 52 weeks, the HBeAg serum conversion rate of LAM + T?1 group was 58. 1 % , and that of the LAM group was 21.9%. Comparing the results of the two groups, the difference was remarkable. Objective To assess the safety and efficacy of the local nerve block anesthesia procedure in daysurgery inguinal herniorrhaphy practice.Methods Fifty-eight inguinal herniorrhaphy were performed under the local nerve block anesthesia in the form of day surgery between April 2014 and April 2015 other 58 inguinal hemiorrhaphy were performed under general anesthesia.Time of operation,hospitalization stay,complications and costs were evaluated.Results The average operating time of the day-surgery group was (47 ± 12) min.All operations were completed successfully.Fifty-six patients were discharged in 24 hours and 2 patients were discharged in 48 hours after the surgery.The average costs were 8437 yuan.The rate of postoperative complications was approximately 6.6％ (4/58),including hematoma(3 cases),urinary relention(1 case),and chronic pain (1 case).The VAS scores of 6 hours after the operation were (2.4 ± 0.8).Conclusions It suggests that preperitoneal hemiorrhaphy under the local nerve block anesthesia in the form of day-surgery was safe and effective.Also,it could significantly shorten the time of hospitalization and reduce medical costs.

Abstract: Objective　To investigate the clinical manifestations, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of COVID-19-associated multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C) with multisystem organ failure, and to analyze the differences between the syndrome resembling Kawasaki disease and Kawasaki disease. Methods We report a case of child diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection who developed MIS-C with multi-organ failure. Literature was reviewed to further discuss clinical symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of MIS-C. Results The patient 's condition progressed rapidly and was severe, with acute kidney injury at admission, presenting with urine output of 0 mL in 8 hours, serum creatinine of 675.1 μmol/L, urea nitrogen of 38.2 mmol/L, creatine kinase 4 932 U/L, along with continuously elevated serum amylase, peaking at 5 809.7 U/L, aspartate aminotransferase of 995 U/L, alanine aminotransferase of 240 U/L, and frequent vomiting. The patient was categorized as critically ill. The confirmed patient with MIS-C was managed in pediatric intensive care units (PICU), received early continuous blood purification, jejunal tube feeding, and combined treatment with intravenous methylprednisolone pulse and human immunoglobulin for intravenous injection (IVIG), resulting in complete recovery and discharge. Through literature review, it can be analyzed that MIS-C is systemic inflammatory response characterized by multi-organ dysfunction from a cytokine storm, which differentiates it from Kawasaki disease characterized by acute systemic vasculitis triggered by infectious factors, ultimately leading to cardiovascular accidents as the main cause of death.Conclusions When fever (≥38 ℃) persists for at least 24 hours, accompanied by high inflammatory symptoms and dysfunction in two or more systems, requiring intensive care treatment, and there is evidence of SARS-CoV-2 infection, MIS-C should be diagnosed early, and intervention and treatment should be initiated promptly to achieve favorable outcomes.

Objective To discuss the clinical manifestations and CT findings of eosinophilic cystitis in chidren.Methods Nine cases including Six boys and 3 girls,three to 13 years old,mean age of 8.3- year,have symptoms of hematuria,irritative voiding,dysuria and abdominal pain。The eosinophilic cystitis was pathologically proved in 7 patients and eosinophilic granulomatous cystitis in 2 patients,which based on cystoscopic tissue biopsy or surgery retrospectively.Results Local thickened bladder walls or nodular and sessile masses along the bladder dome showed in four cases with eosinophilic granulomatous cystitis,and the diffusely irregularly thickened bladder walls showed on CT scans in the rest 5 cases with eosinophilic cystitis.Conclusion CT findings are helpful to reveal the site,size and other features of eosinophilic cystitis in children.But biopsy of the lesion is necessary to rule out other bladder tumor and selecting the proper management.

Objective To analyze the safety and diagnostic value of ultrasound-guided biopsy with simple biopsy clip in children.Methods Under simple biopsy clip 52 cases were performed percutaneous renal biopsy.Then the curative rate and the incidence rate of complications were evaluated.Results Of 52 cases,49 cases(94.23%) gained enough renal tissue specimen for histological evaluation;Three failed cases occurred at early stage,nothing was found at later stage.The main complication was macroscopic hematuria occurred only once or twice after the operation and perirenal hematoma in 1.92% of the cases.No other severe complications were found.Conclusions The biopsy clip is convenient and sterile,and can guide the biopsy device exactly and safely.The use of 18-gauge biopsy gun and the automated biopsy device in children can decrease the complication rate,which can be easily performed.
