1.Effect of understanding of stroke patients for illness on direction of rehabilitation
Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2004;10(12):749-750
ObjectiveTo investigate the understanding of stroke among stroke patients and promote the direction of rehabilitation.MethodsA survey was carried out among 80 stroke patients by questionnaire.Results42.5% of those patients knew nothing about the risk factor of stroke and the rate of right behavior related to maintain health was relatively low. The rate of satisfaction with rehabilitative direction was only 66.3% though 98% patients had experienced that direction.ConclusionIntensive and continuous direction of rehabilitation is necessary for the stroke patients. Comprehensive health education should be given to those patients to ensure their best self care and improve their quality of living.

? AlM: To examine choroidal thickness and its relationship with axial length and spherical equivalent by spectral domain optical coherence tomography ( SD -OCT ) in patients with myopic choroidal neovascularization ( mCNV) .
?METHODS: We prospectively recruited 30 cases of mCNV in Beijing Anzhen Hospital from October 2010 to December 2014. SD-OCT was used to measure choroidal thickness subfoveally and at 1. 5mm superiorly, inferiorly, nasally and temporally ( SFCT, SCT1. 5mm , lCT1. 5mm , NCT1. 5mm , TCT1. 5mm ) . Paired t- test was conducted to assess the difference of spherical equivalent, axial length and choroidal thickness between mCNV group and controls. Logistic regression analysis was performed to evaluate the correlation between spherical equivalent, axial length, choroidal thickness and mCNV.
?RESULTS: The difference of spherical equivalent and axial length between mCNV group and controls was not significant (P>0. 05). lnferior was decreased in mCNV group compared with controls (140. 85±33. 46μm vs 168. 95±45. 36μm). The difference was significant (P=0. 008). Logistic regression demonstrated that decreased choroidal thickness ( lCT1. 5mm ) at inferior location was associated with mCNV (OR=2. 12;95%CI 1. 35~3. 28;P=0. 02).
?CONCLUSlON: The decrease of lCT1. 5MM may be one of the risk factors of mCNV.

Objective To evaluate the potential risk of aorta injury by simulating different lateral misplacement patterns of thoracic pedicle screws (TPS) in the treatment of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS).Methods From December 2010 to August 2011,50 AIS patients were admitted to our hospital, including 7 males and 43 females, aged from 13 to 18 years (average,15.3±2.6 years). All patients underwent axial magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans from T5 to T12.The left pedicle-aorta (LtP-Ao) angle and distance were measured on the axial MR images by the software of PACS Client. The lateral misplacement of pedicle screw was simulated with variable direction errors (10°,20°,30°) and different lengths of pedicle screw (30 mm,35 mm,40 mm).A total of nine patterns of lateral pedicle screw misplacement were set up,and a warning misplacement was defined as the mimic pedicle screw crossed the aorta. The percentages of warning misplacement were compared in each pattern of lateral pedicle screw misplacement and each level from T5 to T12.Correlation analysis was made between the percentages of warning misplacement and the direction errors as well as length of pedicle screw. Results The mean LtP-Ao angle increased from 34.3°±8.5° at T5 level to 45.7°±4.1° at T7 level, and then gradually decreased to 9.2°±5.6° at T12 level. The mean LtP-Ao distance increased from 28.2±7.3 mm at T5 level to 37.7±6.5 mm at T12 level. The percentages of warning misplacement were positive correlation with the direction errors and length of pedicle screw. The percentage of warning misplacement was higher at the T11 level. Conclusion The potential risk of aorta injury increases with enlarging of direction error and lengthening of thoracic pedicle screw, particularly at the T11 level.

Background The neovascular form of the disease usually causes severe vision loss in a number of eye diseases.Special-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) provides high-quality in retinal imaging and the possibility of the measurement in vivo. Objective This study aimed to investigate the feasibility of SD-OCT dynamically measuring choroidal neovascularization (CNV).Methods CNV was induced in 30 left eyes of 30 clean Brown Norway(BN)rats by retinal photocoagulation with the laser parameter as follows: wavelength 532 nm,exciting power 200 mW,spot diameter 100 μm and irradiating time 50 ms.Bubble or less retinal bleeding was thought as Brunch membrane breakage and CNV model establishment.Fundus fluorescein angiography(FFA) was performed to determine the establishment of CNV model and scored based on the fluorescein leakage on 3,7,14,21 days after photocoagulation.Meanwhile,CNV memberane thickness (CMT) was dynamically measured in vivo as the maxiume value from retinal inner limiting membrane through choroidal vessel layer in various time points.Histopathologic examination was used in the 14th day to evaluate and verify the result of SD-OCT.The right eyes were as controls. Results FFA examination showed that disc-like leakage of fluorescein appeared in 7 days and extended in 14 days after photocoagulation with the scores of 1.6±0.4,2.5±0.6 and 2.4±0.5 in 7,14 and 21 days, showing a significant difference among them(F=13.11,P<0.01).The fluorescein leakage score was significantly higher in 14 and 21 days than that of 7 days(both P<0.05).CMT measured by SD-OCT was(76.33±10.09),(102.03±14.21)and(98.03±13.76) μm in 7,14 and 21 days after photocoagulation respectively, with a significant difference among 3 time points (F=23.25,P<0.01),and that in 14 and 21 days was significantly declined in comparison with 7 days(both P<0.05).The results of SD-OCT showed a consistent tendency with that of FFA.Histopathological examination showed CNV formation in 14 days after photocoagulation. Conclusions Experimental CNV model was successfully induced by laser photography.SD-OCT technology allows excellent visualization of CNV in vivo.
