[Objective] To investigate the effect of Suiqing Pill (SP), a Chinese prescription with the actions of activating blood and removing blood-stasis, on growth and metastasis of tumor. [Methods] Sixty C57BL/6 mice were randomized to three groups: group A (model control), group B (low-dose SP) and group C (high-dose SP). H22 hepatocarcinomatous metastasis models were established by subcutaneous injection of H22 hepatocarcinoma cells into the right lower limb. The inhibitory rate of tumor weight, incidence of metastatic carcinoma of lung, metastasis of lymph node, survival time and life-span prolongation rate were observed. Objective To explore the value of uric acid (UA) combined with lipoprotein a [Lp(a)] in prediction of atherosclerotic renal artery stenosis (ARAS) in high risk population with atherosclerosis. Methods A total of 190 patients who were highly suspected for ARAS and received renal artery angiography in Peking Union Medical College Hospital from October 2008 to April 2011 were enrolled in the study.Among these patients,120 were diagnosed as coronary arterial disease (CAD) by coronary artery angiography and 89 were diagnosed as ARAS.The control group included 180 people undergoing routine healthy examination in our hospital.The basic information and lab results such as UA,Lp (a),total cholesterol (TC),triacylglycerol (TG),HDL,LDL,Scr and C-reactive protein (CRP) were collected.Logistic regression analysis was used to identify possible risk factors of ARAS and to establish a new tool to predict ARAS in the high risk population. Results The levels of Scr,UA,Lp (a) and CRP in ARAS cases were significantly elevated compared to control people.For high risk population,there were no significant differences in Scr,lipids,UA and CRP between ARAS cases and non-ARAS cases.Logistic regression analysis showed that UA level＞344 μmol/L was correlated to ARAS independently.Using UA level＞344 μmol/L and Lp (a) level＞242 mg/L as a predicting marker for ARAS in high risk population,the specificity was 96.0％,the positive likelihood ratio was 5.45 (P=0.001),and the odds ratio was 6.78,95％CI (1.90～24.2) (P=0.001). Conclusions In high risk population,the UA may be an independent correlating factor of ARAS.Combining UA with Lp(a) can predict the ARAS.

Objective To observe the effect of low arsenic sub-chronic exposure on blood routine test index in rabbits to pave a way for screening early injury of the low arsenic exposure. Methods Twelve healthy male rabbits were randomly divided into four groups. They were administrated with As at the concentration of 0(control), 10, 50 and 250 μg/L in the drinking water. Blood samples were collected from the vein of the ear edge in 8 weeks, and blood test routine including leukocyte (WBC), lymphocyte (LYM), lymphocyte percentage (LYM%), neutrophil (GRA), neutrophil percentage (GRA%), monocyte (MON), monocyte percentage (MON%), red blood cell (RBC), hemoglobin (HGB), hematocrit (HCT), mean corpuscular volume (MCV), mean corpuscular hemoglobin content (MCH), mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration(MCHC), RDW, platelets(PLT), mean platelet volume(MPV), platelet hematocrit(PCT) and platelet distribution width (PDW), were detected by the ABX-60 hemocyte analyzer. Results Compared with the control group, the WBC, GRA and GRA% increased in 0, 50 and 250 μg/L groups, but there was no significance(P > 0.05). PLT and MPV had a statistical significance in 4 groups(F = 4.07,4.20, all P < 0.05). Compared with the control group[(292.00±16.97)×109/L, (7.10±0.99)fL], PLT decreased in the 250 μg/L group [(221.33±22.50)×109/L] and MPV decreased in the 50μg/L group [(5.57±0.46)fL] significantly (P < 0.05). The other index didn't change obviously. Conclusions Sub-chronic low level arsenic exposure may lead to the change in the blood system. The blood routine test may be considered for early injury of the arsenic poisoning.

Objective Establish an overall performance evaluation index system for innovative medical devices transforming project,a major science and technology project in Zhejiang province.Methods The weight of indexes was calculated using Delphi method,analytic hierarchy process and weight of percentile method.Results A three-level performance evaluation index system was established.First level included 3 indexes,as condition index,process index and result index,with weight of 0.3401、0.4042 and 0.2557 respectively.Meanwhile,second level and third level included 13 and 38 indexes.Conclusions The index system provide a performance evaluation tool for the innovative medical devices transforming project.

Objective　To study the significance of alteration of concentration of endothelins(ET) and calcitonin gene related protein(CGRP) in bile in patients with acute choiangitis of severe type(ACST). Methods　The concentration of ET and CGRP were detected by radioimmunoassay in 55 cases of ACST at openation time, and 7th, 14th day after operation. Results　Compared with the control group, the concentration of ET in bile in patients with ACST was significantly higher at operation time(P<0.01～0.001). The concentration of ET in bile also showed significant difference at operation time between the 2 groups with different ACST severity(P<0.05). The concentration of ET in bile gradually reduced after operations. Compared with the control group, the concentration of CGRP in bile was signficantly lower at operation time(P<0.01). CGRP in bile gradually rose after operation. Conclusions　The ET in bile has some effect on the ACST pathologic alterations. The content of ET in bile is related to the severity of ACST. The disturbance of the balance between bile ET and CGRP may contribute to the pathologic process of liver and bile duct injury in ACST.

ObjectiveTo study the effect of 8 Hz infrasound on the expression of 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) in rats' hippocampus and temporal cortex.Methods140 male SD rats were randomly divided into the control group, and experimental groups that exposed to infrasound of 8Hz,90dB,100dB and 130dB for 1,7,14,21,28,35,42 days. Experimental groups were exposed to infrasound for 2 hours each day. The control group was only placed in the infrasonic storehouse but without infrasound. Rats' brains were taken as soon as the exposure finished and strained by immunohistochemistry. The content of 5-HT in hippocampus and temporal cortex was detected under an optical microscope.ResultsInfrasound groups had less expression of 5-HT in hippocampus and temporal cortex than the control group (P<0.01), and the least were at the 28th day for 90 dB and 100 dB groups and the 21st day for 130 dB group. Then the expression of 5-HT had an increase in each group.ConclusionThe deceased expression of 5-HT in rats' hippocampus and temporal cortex could result from infrasound of 8 Hz. Rules of change are related to the parameter of infrasound and the 130 dB 8 Hz infrasound can induce greater changes compared with that of 100 dB and 90 dB.

Objective: To study the recombinant epitope antigens of hepatitis C virus (HCV), in order to fulfil the requirements of recombinant immunoblot assay kit. Methods: An expressing vector pBVIL1 for expression of recombinant antigens in a fusion manner with IL-1β was constructed. A series of selected genes from the HCV antigens including the C, NS3, NS4 and NS5 were amplified from HCV gene-containing plasmids using PCR and the expression plasmids for these genes were constructed in pBVIL1, respectively. The activity of the purified recombinant antigens were tested against an identified HCV antibody positive and negative panel with ELISA. Results and Conclusions: All the cloned genes of chosen antigen epitopes were highly expressed in pBVIL1 in E.coli. The activity of the C and NS4 antigens were slightly higher than the RIBA3.0 antigens, while the activity of NS3 was slightly lower than the RIBA3.0 antigen. But the total evaluation for the panel was same as RIBA3.0. That means the cloned antigens were suitable for the use in RIBA test kit.

Objective To detect the argyrophilic proteins in nucleolar organizer regions(Ag-NORs) that express rDNA and rRNA proliferation of T lymphocytes before chemotherapy and after complete remission(CR) in children with primary acute leukemia(AL).Methods The argyrophilic granules area of NOR/nuclear area(I.S%) of T lymphocytes was detected by image analysis system in peripheral blood of 42 patients before chemotherapy and after CR and 30 normal children.Results I.S% in the patients before chemotherapy(5.06%?1.36%) were significantly lower than those in the healthy donors(7.51%?1.06%)(t=8.238 P0.05).Conclusion These results suggest that decrease of Ag-NORs expresses the evidence for tumour induced suppression of immune function of T cells in children with AL prior to treatment.

Low frequency sensorineural deafness is a common subtype of idiopathic sudden deafness. Certain patients suffered recurrent attacks without vertigo, much alike Meniere's disease. Few of them developed into definite Meniere's disease during long-term follow-up in many clinical studies. Although the pathophysiology of recurrent low frequency deafness is yet unknown, the desease is considered associated with early state of endolymphatic hydrops or migraine. Otologists shall be aware of its clinical course and careful explanation is necessary at time of initial informed consent.

OBJECTIVETo study the molecular biological effects of Guilin Watermelon Frost (GWF) on the mRNA expressions of basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) in patients with uterine uterine cervical columnar ectopy.

METHODSOne hundred and sixty patients with uterine cervical columnar ectopy were assigned to two groups by the random digit table. Patients in the treatment group were treated with local spray of GWF, while those in the control group were local applied with bFGF-collagen sponge. The mRNA expressions of bFGF of the uterine tissue were detected in the two groups before and after treatment using RT-PCR.

RESULTSBefore treatment the mRNA expression of bFGF in the uterine cervical columnar ectopy was 0.55 +/- 0.10 in the treatment group and 0.58 +/- 0.13 in the control group, without insignificant difference (P > 0.05). After treatment it significantly increased in the two groups, being 0.82 +/- 0.17 and 0.78 +/- 0.15 respectively, showing statistical difference from before treatment (P < 0.01). But no statistical difference existed between the two groups after treatment (P > 0.05).

CONCLUSIONGWF showed enhancement on the mRNA expressions of bFGF in patients with uterine cervical columnar ectopy.
