Baculovirus-mediated gene transfer into mammalian cells has been used to develop non-replicative vector vaccines against a number of diseases in several animal models.A baculovirus pseudotyped with the glycoprotein of vesicular stomatitis virus was used as vector to construct the recombinant baculovirus expressing classical swine fever virus(CSFV) E2 protein under the control of ie1 promoter from white spot syndrome virus. The E2 gene was shown to be efficiently expressed in both insect and mammalian cells.Intramuscular injection of mice with the recombinant baculovirus resulted in the production of high-level CSFV-specific antibodies.Specific lymphoproliferative responses to the CSFV stimulation were induced in the splenocytes of the immunized mice as demonstrated by CFSE staining assay and WST-8 assay. The results indicates that the pseudotyped baculovirus-delivered gene can be a potential non-replicative vaccine against CSFV infection.

Journal of Preventive Medicine 2018;30(3):221-225
Objective To examine the independent effect of depression on activities of daily living of patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Methods Data were obtained through the face-to-face interview. Totally 154 elderly patients that were screened from 552 old people by the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) were diagnosed as MCI. They were investigated with the Geriatric Depression Scale, and instrumental ability of daily living (IADL) were measured by the Functional Activities Questionnaire. The effect of depression on IADL of patients with MCI was analyzed by logistic regression analysis. Results The prevalence of depressive symptoms among Chinese elders with MCI was 31.82%. The scores of Medical Outcomes Study Social Support Survey, and Functional Activity Questionnaire of depression group and non-depression group were significantly different (P<0.05) . Logistic regression analysis showed that scores of Functional Activity Questionnaire was positively associated with the scores of Memory Inventory for the Chinese (OR=1.36, 95% CI: 1.15-1.61) and depression (OR=6.19, 95% CI:2.07-18.55) . Conclusion The prevalence of depression in elderly patients with MCI was high. Depression would significantly reduce the IADL of the old patients with MCI. Medical workers should be aware of the extent and impact of depressive symptoms in MCI and take active measures in evaluating and treating the depressive symptoms.

Diabetes Education in China have been carried out mere than 10 years with a larger development, but compared with developed countries there are still many limitations. As diabetes educators, the lack of standardized certification of educator, more traditional didactic education, the less use of theory in nursing practice and lack of counseling skills. So some strategies were mentioned in this article, for example, educators should improve the cognition on health education, promptly change their philosophy about diabetes education, establish the systematic and standardized training system and carry out authorized certification system.
6.Effects of Early Nutrition After Birth on the Development of Small Intestine and Body Growth in Rats with Intrauterine Growth Retardation
Chinese Journal of Contemporary Pediatrics 2003;5(3):197-200
Objective To study the effect of early nutrition on the development of physique and small intestine inrats with intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR). Methods Eight normal pubs fed with normal protein diet (20 % )were used as normal controls. The IUGR pups were assigned into normal protein diet group (IC group), low-protein dietgroup (IL group) and high protein diet group (IH group). On the 1st, 21st and 28th day after birth respectively, theweight and length of small intestine (SI), the body weight and length, and the activities of disaccharidase weremeasured. Results The body weight and length, weight and length of SI in rats with IUGR at birth were allsignificantly lower than those in normal rats ( P < 0.05). Body length, body weight, length and weight of SI in ILgroup were all lower than those in IC, IH and normal control groups in the first 4 weeks after birth. The physique andsmall intestine in IH group caught up growth quickly, the body weight in the 4th week reached the normal value. In thethird week, the lactase activity in IL and IH groups were higher than that in normal control group ( P <0.05). In the4th week, the sucrase activity in IL group was lower than that in normal control ( P < 0.05). Conclusions Earlynutrition after birth has an important effect on the development of physique and SI in rats with IUGR.

OBJECTIVETo summarize the clinical features, diagnostic and therapeutic experiences of colorectal Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL).
METHODSClinical data of 32 patients with colorectal NHL admitted to our hospital from January 1988 to December 2006 was retrospectively analyzed.
RESULTSThis study included 22 B-cell NHL and 10 T-cell NHL cases. In the B-cell NHL group, the male: female ratio was 14:8 and the median age was 60.5 years. In the T-cell NHL group, the male: female ratio was 5:5 and the median age was 31.0 years. The ileocecal region was most frequently involved in both groups, which accounted for 77.3% and 60.0% of the B and T group respectively. The common clinical manifestations included abdominal pain, weight loss, and abdominal mass. Of the 14 cases of B-cell NHL with definite subtype classifications, 64.3% were of the Diffuse Large B-cell Lymphoma (DLBCL) type. Among the 22 B-cell NHL, 40.9% were with localized diseases (stage I-II1), while all 10 patients in T-cell NHL group were in stage IV with 3 patients complicated with massive GI bleeding and 4 with perforation. All patients of B-cell type received chemotherapy utilizing mainly CHOP after surgical resection. After a median follow-up of 55 months, the disease-free survival was rate 88.2%. Among the T-cell NHL group, 8 out of 10 patients underwent surgery and chemotherapy was given to all those who could tolerate it. Five patients died within 2 months after surgery. It's known that 3 patients were still alive after 23 months.
CONCLUSIONSThe ileocecal region is the most frequently involved site of the colorectal NHL. The histology is usually B-cell type with a majority being DLBCL. Currently R-CHOP chemotherapy after the surgical resection is the principal treatment modality. Patients of B-cell type have a better prognosis while the prognosis of T-cell NHL is poor. Therefore more aggressive diagnostic and therapeutic approaches are recommended for T-cell NHL patients. The prospective of organ preservation treatment for colorectal NHL is still in need of further investigations.

Chinese Journal of Medical Genetics 2005;22(1):76-78
OBJECTIVETo identify the genetic defect causing autosomal dominant congenital cataract (ADCC) in a five-generation family in the northeast of China.
METHODSLinkage analysis was carried out with polymorphic microsatellites on the Human MapPairs marker set, special known loci. Mutation analysis of the candidate gene in the critical region was performed to detect the potential mutation.
RESULTSThe maximum Lod score (2.44 at recombination fraction theta=0) was obtained for markers D1S498,D1S305, and D1S2844. The cataract locus in this family constellation was mapped to 1q21.1 and 21.44 cM interval between D1S2344 and D1S2844, which were known to flank the gene coding Connexin 50 (Cx50) or gap junction protein alpha-8 (GJA8). Sequencing of the coding region of GJA8 gene showed a heterozygous transversion T>G in exon 2, which resulted in the substitution of glycine for valine at amino acid 64, and this position was in the first connexin signature region that characterized this protein.
CONCLUSIONThis is the first report on a mutation in the first connexin signature region of the GJA8 and a different mutation within Cx50 revealed in this family, which might account for the phenotypic differences observed. Furthermore, this study confirmed that GJA8 plays a vital role in the maintenance of human lens transparency.

Journal of Experimental Hematology 2004;12(4):441-444
The study was aimed to explore the chemokine receptor CXCR4 expression on the B-lineage acute lymphocyte leukemia (B-ALL) cells of various differentiation stages and its relationship with myeloid antigen expression. Flow cytometry was used to detect the CXCR4 expression by means of double-fluorescence labeling with CD19/SCC gating. The results demonstrated that 92.9% B-ALL patients were positively expressed CXCR4. The CD10, CD34 antigens were differently expressed in differentiation stages of B-ALL. The immunotypes of (1) CD10(-)/CD34(+), (2) CD10(+)/CD34(+), (3) CD10(+)/CD34(-), (4) CD10(-)/CD34(-) presented at various differential stages from premature to mature. The positive rate of CXCR4 were (27.60 +/- 15.25)%, (30.95 +/- 15.50)%, (55.62 +/- 18.37)% and (77.25 +/- 10.86)% from (1) to (4) respectively. The median fluorescence intensity (MFI) of CXCR4 expression were 46.69 +/- 15.06, 47.43 +/- 12.39, 79.28 +/- 24.71 and 132.92 +/- 88.09. CXCR4 expressions were not significantly different between the premature stages of CD10(-)/CD34(+) and CD10(+)/CD34(+) subtypes, but both were lower than the CXCR4 expression in CD10(+)/CD34(-) and CD10(-)/CD34(-) subtypes. The highest incidence of CXCR4 expression was found in CD10(-)/CD34(-) B-ALL. The average level of CXCR4 expression on B-ALL cell with positive myeloid antigen CD13 or/and CD33 (my(+)B-ALL) was (12.56 +/- 3.88)% of positive rate and 39.82 +/- 11.58 of MFI, both of which were less than the positive rate (37.57 +/- 11.59)% and the MFI (50.72 +/- 13.34) on B-ALL cells with negative myeloid antigen expression (mye(-)B-ALL). In conclusion, the CXCR4 expression is associated with differentiation level of B-ALL cells and down-regulated when co-expressed with myeloid antigens.

National Journal of Andrology 2008;14(1):20-22
OBJECTIVETo investigate the expression of inhibin B betaB subunits in human testicular tissues.
METHODSEighty-three cases of the azoospermia underwent testicular biopsy. In accordance with the pathological alterations of spermatogenesis, the samples were divided into four groups: Sertoli-cell-only syndrome (n = 21); hypospermatogenesis (n = 20), maturation arrest (n = 24) and almost normal spermatogenesis (n = 18). Immunohistochemical staining for inhibin B betaB subunits was conducted on the paraffin-embedded sections of different spermatogenesis to localize inhibin B betaB subunits in the seminiferous tubules.
RESULTSImmunohistochemically, positive products of inhibin B betaB subunits were found in both the seminiferous tubules and interstitial tissues of the testis as brown or yellow particles in the cytoplasm. Leydig cells and early intermediate spermatogenic cells showed a very strong positivity; Sertoli cells in the seminiferous tubules were mostly positive; peritubular myoid cells showed a weak positive staining; but no positive expression of inhibin B betaB subunits was found in late spermatids and mature sperm.
CONCLUSIONInhibin B may be produced by both Sertoli cells and early spermatogenic cells in the seminiferous tubules.
