Objective To study the changes in the percentage of CD+4 CD+25 regulatory T (Tr) cells in peripheral blood and deciduas in unexplained recurrent spontaneous abortion (URSA) patients, normal non-pregnant and pregnant women respectively. Methods The percentage of CD+4 CD+25 Tr cells in deciduas and peripheral blood from 25 URSA patients, 22 normal non-pregnant (NNP) women, and 34 normal early pregnant (NP) women were measured by double-staining followed by flow cytometric analysis. Results (1) The percentage of CD+4 CDbright25 T cells in peripheral blood in both URSA and NP [ ( 1.55±0.77 ) %, (2. 65±1.10)%, respectively] women were increased significantly than that in NNP women [ (0. 39± 0.14)% P<0.05]. The percentage of CD+4 CDbright25 T cells in peripheral blood in URSA women was significantly lower than that in NP women (P<0.05 ). (2) The percentage of CD+4 CDbright25 T cells in decidua in URSA women was significantly lower than that in NP women [ ( 0. 59±0. 23 ) %, ( 1.24 ± 0. 55)%, respectively, P <0. 01 ]. There was no significant difference in the percentage of CD+4 CDdim25 T cells in decidua between URSA women and NP women [ (4. 23±1.52)%, (3.75±1.88)%, respectively, P>0.05]. (3) The proportion of CD+4 CDbright25/CD+4 cells in deeiduas was significantly higher than that in peripheral blood in NP women [(13. 10±10. 25 ) %, ( 5.59±2.62 ) %, respectively, P < 0. 05 ] . However, a significant difference in the proportion of CD+4 CDbright25/CD+4 between decidua and peripheral blood was not found in URSA patients [ (5. 16±2. 83 ) %, ( 4. 64±2. 07 ) %, respectively, P>0.05)].Conclusions The number of CD+4 CD+25 Tr cells is increased in normal pregnancy and decreased in URSA. Therefore, CD+4 CD+25 Tr cells may play an important role in maintaining maternal-fetal tolerance and may be involved in the pathogenesis of URSA.

In order to provide anatomical basis for transoral approach (TOA) in dealing with the ventro lesions of craniocervical junction, and the design and application of artificial atlanto-odontoid joint, microsurgical dissecting was performed on 8 fresh craniocervical specimens layer by layer through transoropharyngeal approach. The stratification of posterior pharyngeal wall, course of vertebral artery, adjacent relationship of atlas and axis and correlative anatomical parameters of replacement of artificial atlanto-odontoid joint were observed. Besides, 32 sets of atlanto-axial joint in adults' fresh bony specimens were measured with a digital caliper and a goniometer, including the width of bony window of anterior arch of atlas, the width of bony window of axis vertebra, the distance between superior and inferior two atlas screw inserting points, the distance between two axis screw inserting points etc. It was found that the width of atlas and axis which could be exposed were 40.2+/-3.5 mm and 39.3+/-3.7 mm respectively. The width and height of posterior pharyngeal wall which could be exposed were 40.1+/-5.2 mm and 50.2+/-4.6 mm respectively. The distance between superior and inferior two atlas screw inserting points was 28.0+/-2.9 mm and 24.0+/-3.5 mm respectively, and the distance of bilateral axis screw inserting points was 18.0+/-1.2 mm. The operative exposure position through TOA ranged from inferior part of the clivus to the superior part of the C3 vertebral body. Posterior pharyngeal wall consisted of 5 layers and two interspaces: mucosa, submucosa, superficial muscular layer, anterior fascia of vertebrae, anterior muscular layer of vertebrae and posterior interspace of pharynx, anterior interspace of vertebrae. This study revealed that it had the advantages of short operative distance, good exposure and sufficient decompression in dealing with the ventro lesions from the upper cervical to the lower clivus through the TOA. The replacement of artificial atlanto-odontoid joint is suitable and feasible. The design of artificial atlanto-odontoid joint should be based on the above data.

Chinese Journal of Neuromedicine 2009;8(11):1086-1089
Objective To explore the development of eosinophilic inclusion bodies in PC12 cells incubated with proteasome inhibitor lactacystin. Methods PC12 cells were incubated for 24 h with 0, 5, 10 and 20 μmol/L lactacystin, and HE staining and α-synuclein immunohistochemistry was used to observe the changes of the inclusion bodies under light microscope. The changes in the inclusion bodies in the cytoplasm were also observed after treatment of PC12 cells with 10 μmol/l lactacystin for 24, 48, 72, 96 and 120 h. Results After incubation with lactacystin for 24 h, P12 cells showed increased number of eosinophilic inclusion bodies in the cytoplasm, and the increment appeared dose dependent. No inclusion bodies were observed in the cells without lactacystin treatment, and a few (3.33%±1.15%) occurred at lactacystin concentration of 5 μmol/L, numerous (71.33%±4.16%) at 10 μmol/l, and almost in every cell (90.33%±3.21%) at 20 μmol/L; some of the inclusion bodies were released from the cells. With the passage of time, inclusion bodies in the cells treated with 10 ?mol/l laetacystin began to dissociate with the cells, and the cytoplasm was reduced to contain only inclusion bodies and nucleus at 96 and 120 h. Immunohistochemistry showed that a -synuclein immunoreaetive granules concentrated and formed inclusion bodies close to the nucleus at 24 h. As the concentration increased and time prolonged, α-synuclein-immunoreactive inclusion bodies were released from the cells, leaving only inclusion bodies and cell nuclei presented at 96 and 120 h. Conclusion Incubation with laetacystin can induce cytoplasmic eosinophilic and α-synuclein-immunoreaetive inclusion bodies in PC12 cells. The development of inclusion bodies in this model is consistent with that in human Parkinson's disease and diffused Lewy body disease. This model is helpful for further study of the mechanism of neurodegenerative diseases.

UNLABELLEDOBJECTIVE To investigate an operative method of combined resection of preseptal fat: and partial retro-orbicularis oculus fat (ROOF) for correction of upper eyelid heaviness, and evaluate the efficacy and safety of the method.
METHODSPreseptal fat lies widely under the orbicularis oculi in the upper eyelid, and retro-orbicularis oculus fat (ROOF) lies in the lateral supraorbital area. Combined resection of preseptal fat and partial ROOF was performed in patients selected by examination. The efficacy and safety were evaluated by follow-up study.
RESULTSFrom May 2011 to July 2013, 38 selected patients received the treatment with 3 months to 28 months follow up. The heaviness of upper eyelid improved in all cases. One patient developed postoperative hematoma, and another patient had a transient numbness over the lateral upper brow region. 37 patients were satisfied with the result.
CONCLUSIONSCombined resection of preseptal fat and partial ROOF was effective in reducing the heaviness of upper eyelid, without major complications. The operative method should be an important adjunct for selected patients undergoing blepharoplasty.
