Objective To explore the prevention and treatment effect and its mechanism of Xuebijing injec-tion combined with dexamethasone on rats' paraqnat-induced acute and chronic pulmonary injury.Method One hundred and twenty of male Wistar rats were randomly divided into six groups:nomud group(A),administrated with saline;model group(B)and treatment groups(group C,D,E,F)were given 20%PQ(100 mg/kg.ip),and 2 hours later the normal and model groups were administrated with the same volume of saline for treatment,rats in group C and group D received 1.25 g/kg and 2.5 g/kg Xuebijing injection respectively.rdts in group E received 25,ng/kg dexamethasone,rats in group F receired 2.5 g/kg Xuebijing injection combined with 2.5 g/kg dexamethasone,one time per day till to be killed,while rats killed at 28 d were treated for 7 days.At 2 d,3 d,4 d after poisoned,five rats in each group were killed,serum SOD,MDA level and arterial gas(at 3 d)were measured.At 28 d,the rest of rats were killed,and serum TGF-β1,lung tissure HYP were measured.The pathology of the lung tissue was ob-served at 3 d and 28 d in guoup A,B,F.Results Compared with group B,poisoning symptoms in the treatment groups were milder and serum.SOD,MDA,TGV-β1,lung tissure HYP level were better,arterial oxygen content were higer.Among treatment groups,the treatment effects in group F were the best,SOD and MDA of 3 d,HYP and TGF-β1 of 28 d in group B and F were respectively(37.47±13.00,91.86±21.35)nmol/mL;(11.34±3.07,5.63±1.58)nmoL/mL;(2.54±0.63,1.32±0.07)mg/g;(484.13±63.79,202.22±49.83)pg/mL.The difference was significant(P＜0.05).The pathology of the lung tissue showed that acute lung hemorrhage,edema or chronic pulmonary fibrosis in group F were milder than that of group B.Conclusions In early stage,Xuebijing injection combined with dexamethasone has a stronger ability to clear out oxidized free radical and inhibit lipid super oxidized reaction.This may ameliorate acute pulmonary blooding and edema.In later stage,they could ameliorate chronic pulmonary fibrosis by inhibiting TGF-β1 secretion and HYP generation.

OBJECTIVE To study the drug-resistant diversity of Gram-negative bacilli isolated from inpatients during recent five years.METHODS A total of 1 464 Gram-negative bacilli isolated were detected and retrospectively analyzed from 1999 to 2003.Antimicrobial susceptibility testing was performed using Kirby-Bauer method.RESULTS The resistance of Pseudomonas aeruginosa to piperacillin rised from 17.6% of 1999 to 79.2% of 2003,and that to ciprofloxacin rised from 4.3% of 1999 to 36.0% of 2003.The resistance of Escherichia coli to quinolones was above 50%,while to third-generation cephalosporins was 30-40%;the resistance of E.coli to piperacillin rised from 42.9% of 1999 to 68.9% of 2003,and that to ciprofloxacin rised from 40.0% of 1999 to 73.5% of 2003.The resistance of Acinetobacter to piperacillin rised from 31.2% of 1999 to 67.5% of 2003,and that to ceftriaxone rised from 36.0% of 1999 to 74.1% of 2003.The resistance of Serratia to ceftazidime,ceftriaxone,gentamicin,amikacin and piperacillin rised sharply.Imipenem was the most active antibiotic tested against Gram-negative bacilli.Cefoperazone/sulbactam and piperacillin/tazobactam also showed excellent activity against Gram-negative bacilli.CONCLUSIONS During recent five years,the resistance of the most common Gram-negative bacilli has increased rapidly.How to delay the resistance development of common strains become a global problem.

Objective To explore the possible mechanism and protective effect of Xuebijing injection (血必净注射液)and dexamethasone on rats with paraquat-induced chronic pulmonary injury.Methods Thirty male Wistar rats were randomly divided into six groups:normal group(n=5),model group(n=5), treatment groups(n=20).In the normal group,normal saline was used,while in the other groups,20% paraquat 80 mg/kg was injected peritoneally for poisoning.After 2 hours of intoxication,low dose Xuebijing injection(1.25 g/kg),high dose Xuebijing injection(2.50 g/kg),dexamethasone(25 mg/kg),high dose Xuebijing injection combined with dexamethasone(combined group)respectively were administered into the four different treatment groups,equal amount of normal saline was given to the normal and model groups,and the treatment continued for 4 days.At 28 days after paraquat injection,5 rats in each group were killed respectively,serum transforming growth factor-?1(TGF-?1)and hydroxyproline(HYP)level in the lung homogenate were measured,and pulmonary coefficient and histological changes were observed.Results In the treatment groups,the levels of serum TGF-?1 and lung tissue HYP,pulmonary coefficient were leas than those of model group,and among the treatment groups,combined group had the best results(all P

Objective To investigate blood gas analysis and lactic acid evaluation in aerobic forearm exercise and the significance of aerobic forearm exercise for the auxiliary diagnosis of mitochondrial myopathy and encephalopathy patients.Methods Forty-two patients with mitochondrial myopathy and encephalopathy patients, 40 healthy control, and 40 patients control were studied.They performed a protocol under aerobic exercise conditions, consisting of intermittent forearm exercise for 4 minutes at 40% of intented maximal voluntary contraction force.Blood samples were collected to monitor blood gas and plasma lactate before, during arid after exercise.Results During exercise venous PO_2(mm Hg, 1 mm Hg=0.133 kPa)decreased in mitochondrial myopathy and encephalopathy patients from 41.2?12.6 to 39.5?16.2, whereas PO_2 fell from 50.5?14.4 to 30.8?13.1 in healthy control and from 50.1?7.9 to 44.3?35.5 in patient control.Venous PO_2 decreased much more in healthy control group than the other 2 groups(F= 6.34,P

Objective To investigate the mRNA and protein expression of E3 ubiquitin ligase Iduna in non-small-cell lung cancer tissue and para-neoplastic lung tissue,and the correlation of the Iduna expression with clinicopathological factors and prognosis.Methods The expression levels of the Iduna mRNA and protein in non-small-cell lung cancer tissue and para-neoplastic lung tissue were determined by reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR),Western-Blot and immunohistochemistry respectively,and the correlation of the Iduna expression with clinicopathological factors and prognosis was analyzed.Results RT-PCR and Western-Blot showed the expression levels of the Iduna mRNA and protein in non-small-cell lung cancer tissue (0.468 ± 0.086 and 2.554 ± 0.544) were significantly higher than those in para-neoplastic lung tissue (0.203 ± 0.070 and 1.570 ± 0.316),there were statistical differences (P ＜ 0.05).Immunohistochemistry results showed that Iduna was negative expression in the alveolar epithelium cells,negative or weak positive expression in normal bronchial and positive expression in different degrees in the non-small-cell lung cancer tissue.Iduna high expression rate was negative correlation with tumor differentiation (P =0.002),Iduna high expression rate was positive correlation with large tumor size (P =0.044),TNM staging (P=0.015) and lymph node metastasis (P=0.009).Iduna high expression of I stage non-small-cell lung cancer patients was correlated with poor post-operative survival (P =0.016).Conclusions High expression of Iduna may be related to the process of invasion and metastasis of nonsmall-cell lung cancer.It is possible that Iduna serve as potential markers for predicting prognosis in nonsmall-cell lung cancer.

Objective To investigate the impact of genetic and environmental factors on mental health status in adolescents twins. Methods A total of 52 pairs of twins aged 11 years were recruited with support from educational committees and school. After the guardians of these twins had signed an informed consent form,the Chinese version growth and the state of health evaluation (Development and Well-Bing Assessment,DAWBA) carries on twins' mental health growth condition investigation to the twins of Age greater than 11-year-old,and focus on a-nalysis of DAWBA youth-assessment version of more than 11-year-old twins. OBJECTIVETo observe the regulatory effect of Bushen recipe (BSR) on immune function in patients with chronic hepatitis B.

METHODSThirty patients with HBeAg+ and abnormal alanine transaminase (ALT) level were treated with BSR for 6 months. The following parameters before treatment, 3 months and 6 months after treatment were tested: (1) HBV DNA by fluorescence quanitiative PCR; (2) Levels of interleukin-10 (IL-10) and interferon-gamma in supernatant of cultured peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC) after had been cultured with HBeAg, HBcAg and phytohemagglutinin (PHA) for 48 hrs; (3) Blood levels of T-cells, including CD4+ , CD8+ , CD8+ CD28+ , CD8+ CD28- and CD28+ , and their ratio, as well as the percentage of CD8+ CD28+ in the cell culture after being co-cultured with PHA for 48 hrs.

RESULTSIn patients effectively treated by BSR, after 3 months treatment, level of IFN-gamma in PBMC culture significantly increased, CD8+ CD28+ , CD28+ T-cells significantly enhanced and IL-10 and CD8 + CD28+ T-cells significantly decreased (P < 0.05, P < 0.01).

CONCLUSIONBSR could significantly strengthen the expression of Th1 type cytokine, decrease the expression of Th2 type cytokine and promote the expression of CD8+ cytotoxic T-lymphocyte, which may be one of mechanisms in suppressing HBV DNA replication.

Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is an ocular disease caused by retinal ophthalmic dysplasia in premature infants,leads to strabismus,amblyopia,cataract,glaucoma,and even blindness,which seriously affects the quality of life of preterm infants.The infant blindness ratio has climbed to 6％-18％,according to figures released by the World Health Organisation.ROP is the primary cause of blindness in children of the world in recent years.But the pathogenesis of ROP is not yet clear.Gestational age,birth weight,oxygen intake,delivery mode,multiple newborns,neonatal respiratory distress syndrome,anemia,blood transfusion,sepsis,infection,hypercapnia,hyperbilirubinemia,maternal prenatal use of a drug are all the risk factors.We reviewed the risk factors and possible mechanism of ROP,in order to offer theoretical support for the study and prevention of ROP in premature infants.
