Autophagy is a vacuolar process of cytoplasmic degradation by lysosome which ubiquitously occurring in all eukaryotic cells. The researches of autophagy have made great progress with the development of the yeast model and genetic technology. This review will summarize the determination of autophagy, its relationship with apoptosis and its role in the tumor treatment in order to give a comprehensive understanding of the function of autophagy.

Objective To resolve the problem that qualified chloramine T was difficult to purchase for some basic laboratories Methods Using the solution of available chlorine prepared by bleaching power instead of chloramine T, the method for determination of cyanide in drinking water was improved Results The data obtained by this assay accorded with Beers Law in the range of 0~2 0 ?g/25 ml cyanide The detection limit, relative standard deviation, and recovery rate were 0 04?g,2 69%~3 09% and 97 50%~99 17% respectively Conclusion This method for determination of cyanide in drinking water was simple and easy to operate and presented good precision and accuracy

Objective To compare the comprehension monitoring in reading between students with and without hearing impairment. Methods An error detection paradigm and an eye-movement recordings method were used in two samples of hearing impairment students and no-hearing impairment students with passages that contained inconsistencies with interval 2 sentences, 4 sentences, 6 sentences and 8 sentences. Results The scores of reading comprehension, the index of tradition monitoring and the index of eye movement were lower in the hearing impairment students than in the no-hearing impairment students (P<0.05). Conclusion The comprehension monitoring ability in reading is poor in the hearing impairment students.

As the number and proportion of aging population increase, dementia has posed tremendous challenges to the sustainable social and economic development of many countries in the world. Thus, dementia has been identified as a global public health priority.Clinically, there is currently no cure for dementia. However,in the past decades epidemiological research has suggested that cardiovascular risk factors and psychosocial factors over the life-course could significantly affect the risk of dementia occurrence later in life.Of these factors, smoking, diabetes, and midlife hypertension, obesity, and high cholesterol might contribute to the clinical onset of late-life dementia by causing cerebral macro-and microvascular damage and neurodegeneration, whereas high educational attainments in early life and social engagement, physical and mentally-stimulating activities during adulthoods might help maintain late-life cognitive function by increasing cognitive reserve. Thus, theoretically clinical onset of dementia is likely to be postponed by implementing interventions targeting these factors over the lifespan. In recent years, evidence from research in Europe and North America has emerged that multimodal interventions that consist of intensive control of cardiovascular risk factors, balanced diets, physical activity, and cognitive training may help maintain cognitive function among individuals at risk for dementia. We call that population intervention research against dementia should be strengthened in China.Identifying the intervention programmes against dementia that are effective specifically among Chinese population is of high relevance for developing the national dementia action plan, and thus effectively dealing with the huge challenges by dementia.

Journal of Chinese Physician 2000;0(11):-
Objective To investigate the early predictive indexes of curative effect of acute respiratory failure(AFR) treated with noninvasive bilevel positive airway pressure(BiPAP) ventilation. Methods Sixty-eight patients with AFR were treated with BiPAP ventilation.According to the therapeutic outcome, patients were divided into success group and failure group, and the distributions of ages, acute physiology and chronic health evaluation(APACHEⅡ) score, consciousness level as well as arterial blood gas(ABG) measurement before and after the treatment with BiPAP ventilation were compared between the two groups. Results There was statistical difference in the ABG levels of pH and PaCO_2 after 1 hour's treatment with BiPAP ventilation(P0.05).Conclusion The levels of pH and PaCO_2 after 1 hour's treatment with BiPAP ventilation are valuable markers for curative effects in early stadge. If the levels of pH and PaCO_2 fail to improve, the treatment with intubation may be necessary.

Objective To evaluate plasma BNP level change in acute pulmonary embolism and its clinical value. Methods 33 cases were diagnosed by CT pulmonary angiography or DSA.they were divided into two groups:the group with right ventricular(RV)dysfunction group and the group without right ventricular(RV)dysfunction.Plasma BNP was detected by Triage BNP test.otherwise,we observed severe clinical presentation、 death rate and mechanical ventilation in two groups. Results Plasma BNP level is higher in the group with RV dysfunction(288?102pg/ml)than that in the group without RV dysfunction(61?32pg/ml)(P
