Objective To determine the prevalence of latex glove(LG)-induced type Ⅳ hypersensitivity in clinical nurses. Methods 100 clinical nurses were selected, among whom 69 nurses were set as the latex glove hypersensitivity group, and the other 31 nurses did not show hypersensitivity to latex glove (the control group). The two groupe underwent a patch testing with a modified European standard series of allergens supplied by Chemotechnique Diagnostics. The positive allergens were compared between the two groups. Results The positive rate of patch testing in patients of the latex glove hypersensitivity group was superior to that in the control group (73.9% vs 25.8%).Cobalt chloride and potassium dichromate were the most common allergens in both groups, while only formaldehyde and para-phenylenediamine were more susceptible in the latex glove hypersensitivity group compared with that in the control group.26.1% of the latex glove hypersensitivity group was responsive to rubber additives, but in the control group the results were negative. Conclusions The hand dermatitis of female nurses with LG allergy is mainly caused by exposure to daily necessities. The prevalence of LG-induced type Ⅳ hypenensitivity is relatively high in clinical murses.

Objective:To explore the application effect of blended learning on the teaching of nursing research course for undergraduate nursing students. Methods:From March to July 2019, a total of 118 undergraduate nursing students from Batch 2016 of a university in Xinjiang were collected in this study and divided into two groups randomly: the experimental group ( n = 60) and the control group ( n = 58). At the end of the course, the final examination scores of the nursing students were compared, and questionnaires were used to evaluate the critical thinking, self-directed learning ability and satisfaction of nursing students. SPSS 21.0 was used for independent-sample t-test and chi-square test. Results:After the implementation of the course, the scores of nursing research theory and practice of nursing students in the experimental group were (78.97±6.57) points and (83.02±3.50) points respectively, which were better than those of nursing students in the control group (75.48±7.76) points and (81.48±3.86) points. The total scores of critical thinking ability and self-directed learning ability of nursing students in the experimental group (294.67±25.15) and self-directed learning ability (277.67±30.84) were higher than those in the control group (222.03±18.77) and (203.81±33.19). The satisfaction degree of nursing students in the experimental group (93.33%) was better than that in the control group (60.34%), with statistical significance ( P<0.05). Conclusion:The application of blended learning in nursing research teaching can improve the final examination results of nursing students, and contribute to the improvement of nursing students' critical thinking ability, self-directed learning ability and course satisfaction.

Objective:To explore the willingness to engage in geriatric nursing services of students in geriatric related majors in universities of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China (Xinjiang for short) , and analyze its influencing factors, so as to provide a reference for cultivating the geriatric nursing service personnel in Xinjiang. Methods:From September 2019 to July 2020, 976 students in geriatric related majors (the nursing major and geriatric service and management major) from 2 universities, a medical university and a vocational university in Xinjiang, were selected as the research object. Students were investigated with the Students' Willingness to Engage in Geriatric Nursing Services Questionnaire, and 50 students were interviewed with the structured interview. Results:Among 976 university students in geriatric related majors, 606 (62.09%) were willing to engage in geriatric nursing services. Logistic regression analysis showed that attitudes towards the aged, registered residence, experience of caring for the aged, living with the aged, attention to geriatric nursing information, and views on the prospects of geriatric nursing services were the influencing factors of students' willingness to engage in geriatric nursing services with a statistical difference ( P<0.05) . The results of grey relation analysis showed that the driving strength of the influencing factors of the willingness to engage in geriatric nursing services of students in geriatric related majors from strong to weak was views on the prospects of geriatric nursing services (the relation index was 0.944) and attitudes toward the aged (the relation index was 0.828) , experience of caring for the aged (the relation index was 0.763) , attention to geriatric nursing information (the relation index was 0.658) , living with the aged (the relation index was 0.600) and the registered residence (the relation index was 0.563) . Conclusions:The most critical influencing factor for students in geriatric related majors in Xinjiang universities to engage in geriatric nursing services is their views on the prospects of geriatric nursing services and their attitudes towards the aged. Universities should further strengthen the discipline construction and curriculum reforms of geriatric related majors, pay attention to the education of career prospects, cultivate a positive attitude towards the aged, and increase the willingness of students to engage in geriatric nursing services.
