1.Synthesis of PEGylated carboxymethyl chitosan-rhein conjugate and preparation of paclitaxel-loaded polymeric micelles

Paclitaxel(PTX), an effective anti-tumor drugs, is water-insoluble. And Cremophor as a solubilizer in its commercial formulation, Taxol® , often causes side-effects which limit its antitumor effect. We designed and synthesized PEGylated carboxymethyl chitosan-rhein(CRmP)conjugate, and further prepared PTX-loaded CRmP polymeric micelles(PTX/CRmP). CRmP conjugate was characterized by fourier transform infrared spectrum(FT-IR)and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy(1H NMR). The particle size and surface morphology of PTX/CRmP were characterized by dynamic laser particle size analyzer(DLS)and atomic force microscope(AFM), respectively. The cytotoxicity of CRmP conjugate and PTX/CRmP against MCF-7 cells were evaluated by MTT assay. The results showed that CRmP conjugates displayed very low cytotoxicity and that PTX/CRmP exhibited better in vitro anti-tumor activity than Taxol® at the same drug concentration after a long-term administration.
2.Reliability and validity of the Chinese version of the multidimensional existential meaning scale in college students

Objective To evaluate the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of multidimen-sional existential meaning scale (MEMS-C) in college students. Methods The MEMS was translated into Chinese. A total of 453 college students was tested by convenience sampling method via online survery. Eighteen college students were surveyed by MEMS-C before and after a two-week interval in order to analyze the retest reliability of the scale. Results The fitting indexes of the confirmatory factor analysis were χ2=450. 510,df=74,P<0. 01,χ2/df=6. 088,GFI=0. 859,CFI=0. 930,RMSEA=0. 106,RMR=0. 074,SRMR=0. 0494. The correlation validity coefficient of the scale was 0. 617 (P<0. 01). Conclusion The MEMS-C has good reliability and va-lidity. It is suitable to measure the sense of life of college students.
3.Herbal Textual Research on Asian Ginseng

Asian ginseng mostly appeared in herbal medical books in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China.In modern literature,it is believed that this drug is alias of vigorously cultivated ginseng,Talinum paniculatum(Jacq.)Gaertn.,Pananis Japonici Rhizoma,Arctii Fructus and other drugs,and the origin is confused.This article made a textual research on the name,origin,producing areas,processing,property and taste,and efficacy.It is concluded that the Asian ginseng was earlier included in the Ben Cao Gang Mu Shi Yi in the Qing Dynasty,and was named Asian ginseng because it was produced in Japan.The original plant is Panax ginseng C.A.Meyer,which is a kind of Araliaceae plant.It takes Yunzhou,Huijin and Xinzhou of Japan as the true land,and is also cultivated in Northeast China.Asian ginseng medicinal materials are made by processing techniques such as net whiskers,boiling,cooling,and exposure to dryness.They are warm in property,sweet and slightly bitter in taste.They are good at tonifying qi and generating fluid,and can treat all deficiency syndromes of fluid and qi.In the Qing Dynasty,they were often used as Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma.The identification of false was also attached for distinguishing.
4.Effects of Coating Method on Fabrication Quality of Flexible Silicone Blood Vessels

Objective To investigate the effect of different coating methods on production quality of complex and flexible silicone vascular replicas. Methods Based on models of anterior communicating artery aneurysms, several patient-specific models were made by using spray-coating method and brush-spin-coating method respectively, and two methods for making the same vascular structure were quantitatively compared in terms of thickness growth, circumferential uniformity and light transmittance. Results Brush-spin-coating method was better than spray-coating method in the thickness control and coating uniformity for fabrication of vessels with large curvature, variable diameter and straight tube, and the model had preferably light transmittance and surface smoothness. The relative deviation of thickness by brush-spin-coating method was decreased by 8. 9% , 10. 8% and 16. 9% respectively compared with spray-coating method. Conclusions At present stage, the brush-spin coating method has the advantage of thickness uniformity and light transmittance over the spray-coating method in making silicone phantoms, and it has promising application prospects in fluid mechanics field of in vitro experiment on large vessels.
