1.Analysing the Pathogenesis and Treatment of Ovarian Cancer Based on the Theory of "Sanjiao Membrane and Interstice"
Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2024;65(20):2097-2101
Based on the theory of "sanjiao membrane and interstice", it is believed that ovarian cancer originates from sanjiao membrane and interstice, and can be transferred to other places from sanjiao membrane and interstice, and the disease is located in the lower jiao, with key pathogenesis as the malfunction of sanjiao membrane and interstice caused by original yang deficiency and disturbance of qi movement in sanjiao membrane and interstice. The treatment advocates combining disease and syndrome, treating the root and branch simultaneously, focusing on regulating the function of sanjiao membrane and interstice, making sanjiao membrane and interstice smooth by warming yang and benefiting qi, moving qi and activating blood circulation, eliminating blood stasis and removing phlegm, detoxifying and dissipating masses, and so on, with Yiqi Huoxue Jiedu Formula (益气活血解毒方) as a basic formula for treating ovarian cancer. Meanwhile, focusing on the staging of treatment, western medicine treatment can be assisted in the acute stage to reduce the toxicity, increase the effect, and reduce the adverse reaction; in the remission or stabilisation stage, as well as in the advanced stage with palliative treatment, individualised addition and subtraction of medications can be given according to the patient's physical condition and the characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine syndrome, so as to improve the microenvironment of the tumour.

Cancer toxin is a specific pathogenesis leading to the heterogeneity of breast cancer. The nature and virulence of the cancer toxin determine the differences in the heterogeneity of breast cancer, which can dynamically evolve over time and space, resulting in varying invasion abilities and characteristics of the tumor.Cancer cells in the primary lesion possess"toxicity"that targets specific organs for metastasis, and cancer toxins can influence the metastatic propensity of different types of breast cancer. Therefore, breast cancer treatment strategies based on the theory of cancer toxins emphasize the continuous eradication of the cancer toxin, focusing on differentiating its strength and nature, protecting unaffected areas first, identifying the state based on symptoms, and targeting accordingly to combat resistance arising from tumor heterogeneity. This article aims to provide a new theoretical basis for the treatment strategies of different types of breast cancer.

Objective:To collect and analyze the quality control data of gastric cancer surgery in Jiangsu Province from 2020 to 2022,and study the role of publishing surgical quality control data in promoting the improvement of gastric cancer surgery of China. Methods:An online questionnaire was created and distributed to the members of Jiangsu Gastric Cancer Union(JSGCU).The questionnaire collected information including the basic situation of hospital, the diagnosis and treatment of early gastric cancer, advanced gastric cancer and metastatic gastric cancer, the digestive tract reconstruction, the surgical safety, the economic indicators, and so on. Results:The quality control data of gastric cancer surgery in Jiangsu Province from 2020 to 2022 were consistently collected and published. The data analysis results show that there was a gradual increase in the percent of patients with stage Ⅰ gastric cancer, reflecting the success efforts of early screening and diagnosis.Laparoscopic surgery showed a steady increase and became the mainstream approach for curative surgery of gastric cancer in Jiangsu Province. The percent of hospital with lymph node dissection≥30 was also increased.Different locations of gastric cancer exhibited specific patterns in the choice of anastomosis methods after curative surgery. The rate of grade 3 or higher complications in laparoscopic gastric cancer surgery was slightly lower than that in open surgery. For patients experiencing complications, their postoperative hospitalization duration and expenditure were significantly higher. Finally, there was a gradual increase in the proportion of hospital choosing to close the mesentery during gastric cancer surgery. Conclusion:The publication of the quality control data of gastric cancer surgery in Jiangsu Province has driven the improvement of gastric cancer surgery standards of China.

ObjectiveTo analyze factors related to the suspected allergic reaction of elememe emulsion injection based on hospital information system. MethodData on cases that used elememe emulsion injection were collected from the information systems of 60 first-class hospitals nationwide. The nested case-control design method was adopted. Finally, 30 cases were included in the suspected allergy group and 120 cases in the control group. SAS 9.3 was employed for descriptive analysis of the gender, age, occupation, admission route, conditions of patients at the admission, and the diagnosis with frequency and percentage. The factors affecting the occurrence of suspected allergic reaction were analyzed by conventional logistic regression and propensity score weighted logistic regression. In the case that the number of independent variables was larger than the sample number, MCP (minimax concave penalty) was used to screen the key variables and the conditions of patients at admission, conditions of patients during hospitalization, hospital stay, diagnostic information, and medication information were compared between two groups. ResultThe male-to-female ratio was about 2∶1 in both groups and most of the patients were 46-65 years old. Patients in the control group were mainly "professional and technical personnel", and the majority in the suspected allergy group were "business and service personnel" and "clerks and related personnel". They were mainly admitted at the outpatient and conditions of patients were average at the admission. Compared with the control group, suspected allergy group showed severe conditions during the hospitalization, short average hospital stay, large proportion with intravenous infusion, and low cure rate and effective rate. The results of logistic regression analysis showed no statistical difference in conditions of patients at admission, hospital stay, combined diseases, medicine dosage, and treatment course. ConclusionThe suspected allergic reaction of elememe emulsion injection mainly occurs in the first administration with rapid onset even with the dose lower than the commonly used one. The occurrence is related to the intravenous infusion and the severe conditions of patients during hospitalization and has nothing to do with the conditions of patients at admission, hospital stay, treatment course, use of other medicines, and diagnostic information. In summary, it is mainly related to the constitution and immune status of patients.
