Objective To explore the influence of psychological intervention on quality of life(QOL) in the hysteromyoma patients underwent surgery. Methods Three hundred and twenty patients with hysteromyoma were divided into the psychological intervened group ( all cases were treated with the comprehensive psychological intervention) and the control group (without intervention). Before and after treatment, the scores of the Olson's Enrich Questionary and the Nottingham Health Poofity (NHP) were assessed in the two groups. Results Before surgery, the scores of N HP and Olson were not significantly different between the psychological intervened group and the control group ( P > 0. 05 ). The scores of NHP of total hysterectomy in the control group after surgery were higher than that before surgery, and the scores of Olson were lower significantly ( P <0. 05 or P <0. 01). The scores of NHP of subtotal hysterectomy, myomectomy and blood vessel involvement treatment in the control group after surgery were significantly lower than that before surgery, and the scores of Olson were higher ( P < 0. 05 or P < 0. 01 ). After surgery, the scores of NHP of all patients in the psychological intervened group were significantly lower than that in the control group, and the scores of Olson were higher significantly (P <0. 05 or P <0. 01). There was no significant difference in ovarian hormones level between pre- and post- surgery (P > 0. 05). Conclusions The comprehensive psychological intervention pre- and post- surgery is good for the quality of life in hysteromyoma patients.

Objective To investigate the effect of early intervention on adhesion molecule NB-3 expressing in cerebral injured neonatal rat induced with intrauterine infection. Methods Pregnant rats were consecutively injected with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) 380 μg/kg or saline 17 d after gestation. The offspring from the LPS group accepted early intervention (I group, n=40) or not (NI group, n=40), and those for saline group were as control group (n=40). They were assessed with suspension test 14 d and 28 d after born, and the expression of were NB-3 were detected with immunohistochemistry 1 d, 7 d, 14 d, 21 d, 28 d after born. Results The expression of NB-3 was different among these 3 groups, as well as the scores of suspension test (P<0.001). Conclusion Intrauterine infection increases the expression of NB-3 of neonatal rats with brain damage. The early intervention may increase persistently the expression of NB-3, and improve the motor function.

Objective To determine the volume reduction of the primary olfactory cortex (POC) in patients with Alzheimer disease (AD) and investigate the potential relationship of functional olfactory activation and anatomical atrophy changes. Methods Twelve patients with AD, eight patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and twenty normal controls (NC) underwent standardized UPSIT (University of Pennsylvania smell identification test) behavior smell test and neuropsychological tests. Then all of the subjects underwent the high resolution MRI and an olfactory fMRI scan on a 3T system. Volumetric measurement of the POC was conducted and the areas were also saved as a ROI which would be used during the processing of fMRI data to get the activation voxels in local region. The Kruskal-Wallis rank test was used to examine the significance of POC volume and activation in three groups, If P-value was less than 0.05,Bonferroni method was used for multiple comparisons. The correlation between the anatomical volume and functional activation was analyzed with partial correlation adjusted for age. Results The POC volume of NC, MCI and AD groups were 3024--4734, 1409--4553 and 1561--3759 mm~3, and the medians were 3749, 2752 and 2156 mm~3. The activation voxels of each group were 0--2360, 0--2160 and 0--100 mm~3, while the medians were 430, 40 and 0 mm~3. There were significant differences of both POC volume atrophy and activation between the three groups, with a trend of reduction from NC to MCI to AD group (H is 14.942 and 16.587, both P<0.05). The volume of olfactory activation at POC was highly correlated with the volume of POC (r=0.364, P=0.023). Conclusions In this study, we explored the morphological and functional changes in the POC. It is revealed that POC suffers prominent local atrophy and dysfunction as well as hippocampus in AD. These results can provide neuropathological and neurofunctional bases for olfactory deficit in Alzheimer Disease.

The difference between the two groups with and without consolidated AM or/and DIE had statistical significance( P < 0.05 or P < 0.01 ). After the treatment, the scores of life's energy, ache, emotion, sleep, social activity and body movement of NHP were significantly superior than those before treatment in all patients ( P < 0.01 ). The surgery time-consuming of Ⅲ and Ⅳ stage patients were (64.5 ± 18.4) min and (61.7 ± 17.1 ) min respectively, which were significantly higher than that of Ⅰ and Ⅱ stage ( ( 31.9 ± 12.3 ) min and (40.3 ± 10. 6) main ] ( t = 20.25, P < 0.01 ). The massive hemorrhages and the internal damage organs occurred in Ⅲ and Ⅳ stage surgery [2.9% and 3.5% ,respectively] ,whereas much less in Ⅰ and Ⅱ stage (0.8% and 1.4% ) ,with no significant difference(P >0. 05). After treatment, the rate of symptoms recurrence of Ⅲ and Ⅳ stage patients respectively were 21.4% ,which were higher than that of Ⅰ and Ⅱ stage patients ( 2.3% ) (P < 0.05 )The rate of pregnancy in Ⅲ and Ⅳ stage patients ( 15.4% ) were lower than that of Ⅰ and Ⅱ stage patients (69. 6% ) ( P < 0. 01 ). Conclusions Pelvic EMS decreased the quality of life. EMS patients combined with adenomyosis or/and deep infiltrating EMS have more severe pelvic pain symptoms, less surgical effectiveness and more serious complications. Ⅲ and Ⅳ stage patients are more liable to symptoms recurrence and lower pregnancy rate.
