12 cases of COPD with cor pulmonale and 5 health volunteers were observed while load dose of aminophylline (6mg/kg) was infused intraveneously.LVEF,LVER were measured by 113In-nuclide before and after administration,and FEV1.0,FVC,and arterial blood gas were determined.Serum concentration of theophylline was measured simultaneously.The results showed:(I) In COPD and cor pulmonale patients 10/12 (85%) showed abnormal LVEF,LVER without evidence of coronary heart disease.The results suggested that left ventricular performance were impaired.(2)After load dose of ami-nophylline infusion the left ventricular performance and pulmonary ventilation were improved synchronously.It suggested that aminophylline may be a drug of choice in the stable state of these patients.

Objective To observe the effects of permanent magnetic fields with different magnetic inductions on oxidative damage to human brain microvascular endothelial cells (HBMECs) under normal and hypoxic conditions. Methods HBMECs were cultured in vitro under normal and hypoxic conditions,then divided into a control group and groups receiving magnetic induction at 8.1,16.5,20.3,26.0,27.3,62.5,110.7 and 215.6 mT.Changes in superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity and malondialdehyde (MDA) content in each group were measured 72 h after exposure to the magnetic fields. Results Under normal conditions the SOD activities of the magnetic groups were not significantly different from that of the control group. Only the MDA content of the 215.6 mT group was statistically different (slightly higher) than that of the control group (P ＜ 0.05 ).Under hypoxic conditions,there was again no statistically significant difference in SOD activity,but the MDA content of the 110.7 mT group was significantly lower. Conclusions Under normal conditions,a 215.6 mT permanent magnetic field has an effect on MDA in HBMECs; under hypoxic conditions a 110.7 mT permanent magnetic field has such an effect.

Objective To study the professional value of freshman who specializes in nursing in college,which can help us to take effective strategies to help nursing students form correct and steady professional value.Methods 208 nursing students in college were investigated with nursing professional value questionnaire.Results The total score of the professional value of freshman was (124.53±3.41)points,and caring was (32.41±1.39) points,trust was (22.98±1.64) points,justice was(26.66±l.55) points,profession was (19.73±1.27) points and behaviorism was (22.94±1.31) points among the professional value.Compared with the female nursing students,the scores of the professional values in trust,justice and behaviorism were lower in male,and the score of trust dimension was significantly lower.But the score of the item “Patients have the right to accept or refuse treatment and caring” in justice was significantly lower in female nursing students than male.Conclusions The professional value of nursing students were not optimistic,especially in male nursing students.So colleges and universities need to find effective ways to enhance the training of the professional value of nursing students.

AIM To study the effects of doses of cyclophosphamide(CP) on bone histomorphometry in rats,and evaluted the rat model of osteoporosis after cyclophosphamide administration. METHOD CP at doses of 1 5, 4 5 and 13 5 mg?kg -1 were given to the rats orally everyday for 15 days respectively.in addition, soldium chloride used as control group. At the end of 15 days, the right distal femur were processed to undecalcified sections at 4um and 8 ?m for histomorphometric analysis. RESULT Trabecullar bone mass at doses of 4 5 and 13 5 mg?kg -1 CP reduced markedly, While dose of 1 5 mg?kg -1 CP has no influence on trabecullar bone mass.CONCLUSION Cyclophosphamide has stronger influences on bone tissue and structure in rats. It can be used to make the rat model of osteoporosis.

Objective To explore the magnetic properties of permanent magnet wafers commonly used in magnetotherapy to provide a basis for the scientific and rational use of sources of magnetism.Methods A magnetometer was used to measure the magnetic induction intensities of the N and S polar centers of eight groups of magnet wafers (axial magnetization) with nominal magnetic induction intensities of 6 mT, 10 mT, 20 mT, 30 mT, 60 mT,100 mT, 200 mT and 350 mT.Results There were some differences between the nominal values and the measured mean magnetic induction intensities. In a few groups the differences were close to 20％. There were also differences within the same group. The magnetic induction intensities of the two polar surfaces were not always equal for the same magnet, and there were large differences among individual magnets.Conclusions The intensities of magnetic sources must be measured before use to ensure the consistency of magnetic induction intensities in therapeutic applications.

Objective To study the effect of hidden curriculum on the professional value of nursing students in higher education.Methods A total of 300 full-time nursing students in higher education were collected by the cluster sampling method.They were divided into experimental group and control group by natural class lottery method with 150 students each.The students in experimental group accepted the hidden curriculum such as administrator working of nursing students training,simulated the candidates and the volunteer activities.Then the professional value of the 2 groups was evaluated with nursing professional value questionnaire.Results The total score of the professional value in experimental group after intervention was (126.38±3.29) scores,and caring was (32.50±1.20) scores,trust was (24.40±1.59) scores,justice was (25.54±1.55) scores,profession was (19.64±1.26) scores and behaviorism was (24.31±1.30) scores.The total score of the professional value in control group after intervention was (123.62±2.76) scores,and caring was (32.51±1.24) scores,trust was (22.36±1.30) scores,justice was (26.47±1.54) scores,profession was (19.80±1.23)scores and behaviorism was (22.54±1.59) scores.The scores of trust and behaviorism in experimental group were higher than those in control group,and there were significant differences,t=2.813,2.441,P＜0.05.Conclusions Nursing students of college have positive professional values.The hidden curriculum can cultivate the nursing students' trust and positive psychological quality in higher education.And thus it can be reasonably used in teaching,which would produce a more proactive effect in higher education.

ObjectiveTo evaluate the nephroprotective effects of transplanting metanephric mesenchymal cells (MMCs) into the renal subcaspsule of rats with acute tubular necrosis (ATN) induced by gentamicin. MethodsMMCs were expanded in culture and immunocytochemistry was used to characterize the cells. After gentamicin-induced ATN, fluorescence-labeled cells were transplanted and traced in kidney tissues by fluorescence microscopy. Serum creatinine (Scr) and N-acetyl-b-D-glucosaminidase (NAG) were tested. Kidney pathology was studied by hematoxylin-eosin staining. Apoptosis was examined by the TUNEL assay. Ki-67 and Bcl-2 expression was examined by immunohistochemistry. ResultsMMCs were expanded in culture and the phenotype of the cells was vimentin-positive and keratin-negative. Compared with other ATN groups, in the MMCs-treated group, Scr and NAG clearly decreased[14d Scr: (101.38±20.46) μmol/L vs (248.78±23.15), (252.98±33.52), (229.08±18.18) μmol/L;NAG: (14.83±7.74) U/L vs (33.33±14.88), (29.62±10.54), (30.22±10.94) U/L, P<0.05, respectively];the histopathoiogic lesion scores were lower (P<0.05);the Ki-67 antibody and apoptosis of renal tubular epithelial cells were improved or reduced respectively;the expression of Bcl-2 protein was up-regulated (P<0.05). ConclusionThe subcapsular transplantation of MMCs can ameliorate renal function and repair kidney injury.

BACKGROUND:Stem cell transplantation provides a new approach to treat chronic renal disease.Specific marking and in vivo tracing of stern cells are the basis of studies in this field.However,the marking methods appropriate for all cells remain uncertain.OBJECTIVE:To observe the in vivo location and differentiation of 4',6-diamidino-2-phenylindole (DAPI) and green fluorescence protein (GFP)-Iabeled cells in adriamycin nephrosis rats so as to explore an efficient labeling and tracing method for metanephric mesenchymal cells (MMCs) derived from embryonic rats.DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING:Grouping comparative observation was performed at the Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University from April to December 2007.MATERIALS:A total of 60 female SD rats,weighing 180-220 g,of dean grade,were used to establish models of adriamycin nephrosis.METHODS:DAPI and MMCs infected with GFP and DAPI were respectively injected into addamycin nephrosis via the tail vein.DAPI and GFP distribution in the frozen sections was detected at 1,3,and 5 weeks,postoperatively.In addition,GFP expression in renal tissues was detected by ABC immunoenzymatic staining method.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:DAPI and GFP-labeled Cell grafts in adriamycin nephrosis rats were compared.The changes of GFP-transfected MMCs at different time points were observed.RESULTS:DAPI positive cells were observed in tubular structures after 1 weeks of injection of DAPI-labeled cells and DAPI alone,and remained existing at 5 weeks,but the florescence was reduced with time.GFP-transfected MMCs were able to survive and integrate into tubular structures after 1 week,and remained existing at 5 weeks.Moreover,the fluorescence was not reduced.ABC immunoanzymatic staining showed that only a few GFP-positive MMCs appeared in glomerular tufts,and mainly distributed in cytoplasm.Semi-quantitative evaluation of GFP show that the positive cell rate in rats with early application was greater than that with advanced application,and the positive rate was increased with time.CONCLUSION:Liposome mediated GFP gene transfer was an efficient labeling in vitro and suitable tracing method for cell differentiation experiment in vivo,suitable for short-term tracing and observation of transplanted cells.

Central South University began to implement the eight-year medical education in 2004, and has accumulated rich experience in the pre-medical education through continuous reform and improvement. Since 2012, Central South University has made a series of reformation, which is more conducive to the all-round development of medical students , on the pre-medical education . Through adding freshman courses, humanities courses, bilingual teaching courses, and applying aca-demic adviser institution, early scientific research training and open courses during the pre-medical education, Central South University has exercised and strengthened students' scientific research ability, the humanistic quality, English level, and made the pre-medical comprehensive examination for the shunt selection of students. Thus Central South University has improved the eight-year medical students' comprehensive quality, and provided an example of the reformation for medical education.

Objective To investigate the diagnosis and treatment of primary hyperparathyroidism ( PHPT) initially with urinary calculus .Methods The clinical data of 26 patients who diagnosed as PHPT ini-tially with urinary calculus were retrospectively reviewed .Results There were 22 cases with bilateral urinary calculus and 4 cases with unilateral relapsed urinary calculus .Ultrasonography , CT and radionuclide were helpful to determine the location of the neoplasia .24 cases underwent percutaneous nephroscope or ureteroscopy pneu-matic ballistic lithotripsy , 2 cases discharged ureteral calculi by themselves .All patients were performed surgical treatment of PHPT , which was confirmed by intraoperative frozen pathology and postoperative pathological exami -nation.There was great improvement of clinical symptoms after surgical procedures .The preoperative serum calci-um, urine calcium and parathyroid hormone elevated , while serum phosphate decreased .The postoperative indi-cators were just the opposite .The difference had statistical significance ( P<0.05 ) .Conclusions Laboratory investigations and imaging studies are very important to diagnose PHPT initially with urinary calculus .The para-thyroid surgery can remarkably reduce the calculus recurrence and improve renal function .
