1.Focusing on the application of functional imaging examination in the field of neuro-ophthalmological
Chinese Journal of Ocular Fundus Diseases 2010;26(4):306-309
Functional imaging is a newly arisen interdisciplinary subject compared with the routine radiology displaying anatomy and morphology of lesions. It can exhibit the function-changed information, such as blood flow and metabolism of organs and tissues as visual images or data to provide organizational functions and metabolic information, which makes early diagnosis, more accurate orientation, qualitative definition, and also the prognosis judgment. The ophthalmologists should pay more attention to the functional imaging applications in the field of neuro-ophthalmology.
2.EXCISION OF EXTENSIVE EYELID MALIGNANT TUMOR AND PRIMARY PLASTIC SURGERY REPAIP
Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 1983;0(02):-
The optimal distance from tumor to incision varied according to the cellular type of the tumor. In each case the cutting edge of the excised tissue was checked with frozen sections for cancer cells. Multiple neighboring skin flaps in full thickness raised from the periosteum were used to cover the large defects (the smallest defect is 25 20mm, the largest one is 75 65mm). The results showed that good cosmetic results were obtained in all cases, visual function was preserved in 35 of the 36 patients, and no recurrence of the tumor was found in 5 years' follow-up. One patient with squamous cell carcinoma that disseminated to nasal cavity and sinuses had a complication of meningitis after the operation, and it was cured with proper treatment.

[Objective] The purpose of this study was to evaluate the association of ultrasound findings and different treatments with the prognosis of the pump twin in twin reversed arterial perfusion sequence (TRAP).[Methods] The 55 cases that were diagnosed as TRAP during the period from January 4th 2010 and August 31st 2015 were included.Ultrasound appearances of monochorionic twins were documented in detail when the twins were diagnosed with TRAP initially. At the initial evaluation, presence or absence of the following abnormalities were documented, including the ratio of the acardiac twin to the weight of the pump twin, hydrops fetalis in the pump twin, cardiomegaly in the pump twin, polyhydramnios in the pump twin, oligohydramnios in the acardiac twin and different treatments. The relationship between these ultrasound characteristics and different treatments with mortality of pump twin were analyzed with logistic regression.[Results] A total of 55 cases with TRAP were diagnosed in our institution and three cases were lost to follow up.Selective reduction was performed in 21 cases, termination of pregnancies in 13 and expectant management in 18.Excluding the cases that underwent termination of pregnancy, the remaining 39 cases were divided into two groups according treatment, expectant management group (n=18) and selective reduction group (n=21).Overall survival rate of the pump twin in these two groups was 66.7% and 71.4%,respectively,P =0.748.The markers of perinatal outcome were not significantly different between expectant management group and selective reduction group.Logistic regression demonstrated that cardiomegaly in the pump twin (OR=21.73,95%CI:1.15 ~ 203.89,P < 0.001) were significant correlated with mortality of the pump twin.[Conclusion] The prognosis markers were not significantly different between conservative management and selective reduction group.Cardiomegaly in the pump twin should be considered as risk predictors for mortality of the pump twin in TRAP.

Objective To discuss the application of serum hs-CRP and lipids detection and the correlations between them in type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods The levels of serum hs-CRP,TC,TG, HDL-C,LDL-C,ApoA1,ApoB were all measured in 49 type 2 diabetic patients and 53 normal cases. Results The type 2 diabetic group had significantly higher hs-CRP, TC,TG, LDL-C, ApoB and lower HDL-C than the control group. The concentration of serum hs-CRP correlated positively with TG,ApoB and negatively with HDL-C.Conclusion Serum hs-CRP level is associated with serum lipid level and inflammatory response might play an important role in the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes mellitus. In type 2 diabetic mellitus there is an increased risk of development of cardiovascular diseases.

Objective To summarize our experience in percutaneous transluminal angioplasty(PTA) in the management of thoracoabdominal aortic stenosis of Takayasu's arteritis. Methods From 1987~2001, 12 patients of Takayasu's arteritis with thoracoabdominal aortic stenosis underwent PTA. Aortography and pressure of stenotic segment of arota before and after angioplasty were used to evaluate efficacy. Color Doppler ultrasound examination and Doppler segmental pressure measurement were used in follow-up. Results Success was achieved in all cases without mortality and serious complications except for 1 case of acute thrombosis of iliofemoral artery. The residual stenosis were less than 50% in all cases and the pressure gradient was 5 0mmHg~10 5 mmHg with average pressure being 7 2 mmHg after angioplasty ,although they were 25mmHg~46 mmHg averaging of 37 7 mmHg before angioplasty. All cases were followed up for 9(12~72) months and the result was good without lumen restenosis and obstruction. Conclusions PTA is the first choice for Takayasu's arteritis of thoracoabdominal aortic stenosis of local size and proved to be safe, effectiveand economical. It is also effective for long size cases. It is not necessary to dilate aorta stenosis to normal size, and reducing pressure gradient effectively is enough.

To prepare sustained phenylpropanolamine*HCl (PPA*HCl)-resin complexes and to study the factors influencing the in vitro dissolution of it. METHOD: The sustainedPPA*HCl-resin complexes were prepared by coating the complexes with different kinds of ethylcellulose (EC) as coating embranes. The factors influencing the release rate of PPA*HCl from the complexes, such as resin particle size, the viscosity and thickness of coating membrane, the dispersion medium of EC (water or alcohol) as well as thepH and ion strength of dissolution medium were studied in detail. RESULTS: Thefactors above all influenced the dissolution of the complexes to ifferent extent. When prepared by EC 200 Pa*s (150 g*kg-1), the dissolution of the coated complexes in 0.1 mol*L-1 HCl accorded with the requirements of sustained PPA*HCl capsulesof USP ⅩⅩⅢ. ONCLUSION: The sustained PPA*HCl can be prepared by coating the drug-resin complexes with EC.

Chinese Journal of General Surgery 1993;0(01):-
ObjectiveTo evaluate the efficacy of axillo-axillary bypass grafting for the treatment of contralateral arterial ischemia of upper limb. Method 53 cases underwent axillo-axillary artery PTFE graft bypass among those there were 46 cases of subclavian artery occlusion and 3 cases of subclavian artery aneurysm and 4 cases of trauma. Preoperatively 33 cases suffered from a symptom of extremity ischemia and 18 cases with subclavian artery blood steal. Result Good results were achieved in all cases without any complications. Doppler test showed the gradient of bilateral brachial pressure artery was less 10 mmHg in all cases. ConclusionAxillo-axillary artery PTFE graft bypass is an effective method for subclavian artery reconstruction with less trauma and complications. It is especially suitable for the elders with concomitant heart brain and lung diseases. It is also applicable for cases in which the subclavian arteries are not easily accessible due to artery aneurysm and artery trauma.
