Objective To compare the results difference between the fluorescence staining and the acid fast staining (Ziehi‐Neelsen staining) methods in the detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis ,and to compare the effects of the methylene blue solu‐tion ,Haris hematoxylin solution and potassium permanganate liquid as the redyeing reagents of the fluorescence staining method . Methods 198 sputum specimens collected from the patients with suspected tuberculosis symptoms and were performed the Ziehi‐Neelsen staining and the fluorescence staining respectively For comparing the difference in the detecting rate of Mycobacterium tu‐berculosis between the two kinds of method .The fluorescence staining adopted 0 .3% methylene blue solution ,0 .5% Haris hema‐toxylin solution and 0 .5% potassium permanganate solution as the redyeing reagents for comparing the effects of the fluorescence microscopic examination among different redying reagents .Results The detection rate of Mycobacterium tuberculosis was 66 .67%(132/198) for the Ziehi‐Neelsen staining ,94 .9% (188/198) for the fluorescence stainings and 94 .95% (188/198) for the methyl‐ene blue staining ,in which the detection rate of methylene blue redyeing was 94 .95% ,which of hematoxylin redyeing was 94 .44%(187/198) and which of potassium permanganate redyeing was 94 .44 (187/198) ,the differences among them were statistically sig‐nificant(P< 0 .05) .Conclusion The fluorescent staining method has the higher positive detection rate of Mycobacterium tubercu‐losis than the Ziehl‐Neelsen staining method ,in which 0 .3% methylene blue solution is a good background quenching redyeing solu‐tion .

OBJECTIVETo observe the clinical effectiveness of Qilin Pills combined with sertraline in the treatment of secondary non-consolidated kidney qi premature ejaculation (PE).

METHODSA total of 120 patients with secondary non-consolidated kidney qi PE were randomly assigned to groups A (aged [35.5 ± 5.4] yr), B (aged [36.2 ± 5.7] yr), and C (aged [35.2 ± 5.3] yr) in the ratio of 1:1:1 to receive Qilin Pills (once 6 g, bid), sertraline (once 50 mg, qd), and Qilin Pills plus sertraline, respectively, all for 4 weeks. The intravaginal ejaculatory latency time (IELT) and PE diagnostic tool (PEDT) scores were obtained before and after medication and at 1 month after drug withdrawal, and comparative analyses were made among the three groups of patients.

RESULTSThe IELT was dramatically prolonged in groups A, B, and C after treatment ([3.23 ± 1.84], [3.87 ± 2.43], and [5.92 ± 3.11] min) and at 1 month after drug withdrawal ([1.85 ± 1.27], [1.52 ± 1.06], and [ 4.26 ± 1.88 ] min) as compared with the baseline ([0.88 ± 0.45], [0.84 ± 0.47], and [0.85 ± 0.50] min) (P < 0.01), even longer in group C than in A and B (P < 0.01). The PEDT scores of the three groups were 5.1 ± 1.8, 4.9 ± 1.7, and 3.8 ± 1.2 after treatment and 8.2 ± 2.4, 8.1 ± 2.4, and 6.5 ± 2.1 at 1 month after drug withdrawal, significantly improved in comparison with 13.2 ± 3.2, 12.8 ± 3.1, and 13.1 ± 3.4 before treatment (P < 0.01), even more significantly in group C than in A and B (P < 0.01).

CONCLUSIONQilin Pills combined with sertraline has a definite efficacy in the treatment of secondary non-consolidated kidney qi PE and therefore deserves wide clinical application.

Objective To explore clinical characteristics of spontaneous subarachnoid hemorrhage(SAM)pa- tients.Methods Etiopathogenisis and clinical manifestations of 167 SAIl patients of different ages and cause of 24 SAH patients' exacerbation and death were retrospectively analyzed.Results The aneurysm was the main etiologies of SAH.The youth and middle-ages SAH patients were caused by aneurysm.Hypertensive arteriosclerosis was the second etiologies of SAH which was mainly in middle-ages and old ages.SAH caused by Vascular malformation main- ly appeared in youth group.Headache and vomitus and meningeal irritation sign which mainly appeared in youth and middle-ages groups.Occiput pain and conscious disturbance was mainly the first symptoms of aggravation and death of SAH which happened in 14 days after hemorrhage and under 45 year ages.Conclusion Aneurysm and vascular malformations are the main causes of SAH of young patients.And hypertensive arteriosclerosis is the main cause of the old.The clinical manifestations of the old are not as typical as the young.Posterior cranial fossa hemorrhage is the main cause of SAH patients which are mostly under 45 year ages and mostly happen in 14 days after bleeding.

Recent years,progress has been made on the basic researches and clinical applications of ocular surface reconstruction with autologous or allogeneic limbal stem cells,oral mucosa epithelium and ex vivo cultured limbal stem cells.However,there are several issues,including the successful treatment for severe ocular damage,longterm follow-up and evaluation of clinical outcome,and the in vivo tracking of donor stem cells,remained to have definitive conclusions.Future studies should address the questions and challenges based on the basic research of limbal stem cell deficiency and standardized evaluation of clinical outcome.

Objective: To investigate the source of Candida alb ic ans in the mouth of neonates. Methods: 208 mother in fant pairs were recruited. Specimens from mothers for fungal culture were obtain de from the mouths by oral rinse and from vagina by swab within 48 h before de livery, and specimens from full term neonates were obtained from mouth by swab on the 1st, 3rd and 5th day while still in hospital and when the neonates were 1 month old. Candida species were identified by the routine microbiologica l methods, then Candida albicans isolated from mother infant pairs were com pared genetically by random amplified polymorphic DNA analysis (RAPD). Results: Candida albicans was isolated in the mouth of only 2 neonates (0.96%) and in the vagina and mouth of the corresponding 2 mothers in hospital.That was isola ted in the mouth of 43 neonates (21.39%) when they were 1 month old and in both vagina and mouth of 3 corresponding mothers and in the mouth of another 2 corr esponding mothers. RAPD revealed different genotypes of Candida albicans in each mother infant pair. Conclusions: The vertical tran smission of Candida albicans from mother to baby seems not to be the main so urce of Candida albicans in neonate mouth.

Objective To study whether bifendate (BFD) can decrease blood concentration of cyclosporine A (CsA) in the patients subject to renal transplantation. Methods In the 106 cases undergoing renal transplantation treated with CsA, Pred and Aza, 65 were administrated with BFD as experimental group and the remaining 41 cases without BFD as control group. Blood concentrations of CsA, and biochemistry indexes for liver and renal function were determined. Results Blood concentrations of CsA in the experimental group went down by 26. 5 % as compared with those before taking BFD and had a significant decrease as compared with control group (P

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the characteristics and general pattern of the adverse drug reactions (ADR) occurred in our hospital. METHODS:A total of 258 ADR cases collected from June 2006 to June 2008 were analyzed statistically in respect of patients' age and sex,drug variety,clinical manifestations,routes of administraiton and dosage forms etc. RESULTS:Of the total 258 ADR cases,the majority(64.34%) were induced by antimicrobial drugs; 45.74% presented with lesions of skin and its appendants,and 77.91% were induced by intravenous way. CONCLUSION:To develop and strengthen ADR monitoring and reporting should be regarded as the key to enhance medication safety.

ObjectiveTo study the effect of hyperbaric oxygen therapy on the cholinergic neurons of hippocampus and praxiology of vascular dementia rats.MethodsThe vascular dementia models were made and divided into control and therapy group. After 30 days of HBO therapy, abilities of learning and memory of rats were tested by using the Morris water maze. Immunochemistry staining was used to observe the number of cholinergic neurons of CA1 subfield of hippocampus. ResultsAbilities of learning and memory of rats and the number of the neurons positive to ChAT like immunoreaction in the CA1 subfield of the hippocampus significantly increased in therapy group.ConclusionHyperbaric oxygen therapy is effective on the vascular dementia model rats.
