Objective: To investigate the source of Candida alb ic ans in the mouth of neonates. Methods: 208 mother in fant pairs were recruited. Specimens from mothers for fungal culture were obtain de from the mouths by oral rinse and from vagina by swab within 48 h before de livery, and specimens from full term neonates were obtained from mouth by swab on the 1st, 3rd and 5th day while still in hospital and when the neonates were 1 month old. Candida species were identified by the routine microbiologica l methods, then Candida albicans isolated from mother infant pairs were com pared genetically by random amplified polymorphic DNA analysis (RAPD). Results: Candida albicans was isolated in the mouth of only 2 neonates (0.96%) and in the vagina and mouth of the corresponding 2 mothers in hospital.That was isola ted in the mouth of 43 neonates (21.39%) when they were 1 month old and in both vagina and mouth of 3 corresponding mothers and in the mouth of another 2 corr esponding mothers. RAPD revealed different genotypes of Candida albicans in each mother infant pair. Conclusions: The vertical tran smission of Candida albicans from mother to baby seems not to be the main so urce of Candida albicans in neonate mouth.

Objective To study the expression of human kallikrein gene(KLK) 4 and KLK5 in ovarian cancers,and to investigate the pathogenesis in malignant tumors. Objective To study the expression changes and significance of human telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT)-mRNA and mutant p53 protein in thyroid carcinoma tissues in the elderly.Methods The expression level of hTERT-mRNA was examined by in situ hybridization in 50 samples of thyroid carcinoma tissues from the elderly and 41 samples of thyroid carcinoma tissues from the non-elderly and 30 samples of thyroid benign lesions.The expression level of p53 was examined by immunohistochemistry in all subjects.Results The positive rate of hTERT-mRNA was 96.0％ (48/50),85.3％ (35/41) and 10.0％ (3/30) in thyroid carcinoma tissues from the elderly,the non-elderly and thyroid benign lesions respectively,and there were significant differences between the three groups (x2=73.61,P=0.000).The positive rate of p53 was 92.0％ (46/50),85.3％ (35/41) and 13.3％ (3/30) in thyroid carcinoma tissues from the elderly,the non-elderly and thyroid benign lesions respectively,and there were significant differences between the three groups (x2 =62.30,P =0.000).Conclusions The positive rates of hTERT-mRNA and p53 in thyroid carcinoma tissues are higher in the elderly than in the non-elderly,which can be used to evaluate the biological behavior and prognosis of thyroid carcinoma in the elderly,and they play the important roles for targeted therapy.

Objective To study the clinical and pathologic features of chromphobe renal cell carcinoma (ChRCC) and to evaluate the conventional pathologic prognostic parameters in prognosis.Methods Seventy-five cases (42 males and 33 females) with pathological confirmed ChRCC (36 on the left and 39 on the right kidney) after nephrectomy during 1998 to 2009 were retrospectively analyzed. Patient's age ranged from 25 to 74 years, with a mean age of 56 years. Evaluation of conventional prognostic parameters was carried out. Kaplan-Meier survival curve was used to study the survival relationship. Results The mean tumor diameter was 7.3 cm. The majority of tumor macroscopic surface color was gray and yellow or gray and red. The majority of tumor cells were big polygon chromphobe cell or small round eosinophils. The TNM stages of these ChRCC were as follows: 30 cases in T1N0M0, 1 in T1N0M1, 26 in T2N0M0, 1 in T2N0M1, 11 in T3N0M0, 3 in T3N0M1, 1 in T3 N1 M0, 1 in T4 N0 M1 and 1 in T4 N1 M1. The pathologic grade of ChRCC was G1 in 3 cases, G2 in 24cases, G3 in 46 cases and G4 in 2 cases. All the 75 cases were followed up for 9 to 93 months (mean 44months), 7 patients died and others were alive without recurrence and metastasis. 3-year and 5-year survival rates were 93.3% and 90. 7%, respectively. The univariable analysis showed that tumor size (P=0. 028), TNM stage (P＜0. 001) were associated with tumor progression. The multivariable Cox regression model revealed that TNM stage was an independent predictor of aggressive ChRCC. Conclusions The ChRCC tumors are generally larger than other types of RCC and with a favorable prognosis. Fuhrman nuclear grade is not suitable for ChRCC. TNM stage is an independent predictor of aggressive ChRCC.

Objective To compare the treatment effect of autologous blister skin grafting with ReCell autologous chromocyte grafting on cicatricial depigmentation caused by deep burn.Methods Thirty-four patients with cicatricial depigmentation caused by deep burn who were admitted into hospital from May 2012 to February 2015 were included in this study.The total 61 depigmentation areas were randomly divided into two groups;32 areas from 18 patients were treated with autologous blister skin grafting,and the other 29 areas from 16 patients were trea-ted with ReCell autologous chromocyte grafting.In the autologous blister skin grafting treated group,epidermis from the depigmentation area was removed by grinding with a BY-II AM type epidermal graft vitiligo treatment equipment.Then the autologous blister skin was harvested with the suction blistering method and grafted onto the wound of depigmentation area.In the ReCell autologous chromocyte grafting treated group,split-thickness skin flap was harvested by electric dermatome.Then the donor skin was processed into chromocyte suspension with the ReCell assay kit and evenly sprayed onto the depigmentation areas.The wound healing time and the pigment recovery 3 months after surgery were observed.Results The wound healing time of autologous blister skin grafting treated group was significantly shorter than that of ReCell autologous chromocyte grafting treated group (P <0.05 ).The effective rate of pigment recovery 3 months after surgery in autologous blister skin grafting treated group was markedly higher than that of ReCell autologous chromocyte grafting treated group(P <0.05 ). Conclusion The autologous epidermal grafting treatment using grinding and suction blistering method is simple and easy to perform,marked-ly effective,with no suture scar and low surgical risk,thus serving as a promising and ideal therapeutic method for burn scar depigmentation.
