A canine distemper virus strain was isolated from the lung of dog coming from Aksu in Xing Jiang using lung primary M cell during the CDV molecular epidemiological study. It was demonstrated to be a virulent strain of CDV by a series of systematic identification such as morphology , serology neutralization test, canine infection test, and molecular virology test.

Objective To observe the effect of propofol on cognitive functions and hippocampus tissue in hyperlipidemia aged rats. Methods Seventy-six aged male SD rats were selected and randomly divided into basal diet with propofol injection (group PI), basal diet with normal saline injection(group N1), high-fat diet with propofol injection (group P2) and high-fat diet with normal saline injection (group P2), with 19 rats in each group.Eight weeks later, group P1 and P2 received intraperitoneal injection of propofol 100 mg · kg-1 · d-1 for 5 days. While in group N1 and N2, rats received the same intraperitoneal injection of equal volume normal saline. One day after the last injection, escape latency and space exploration were detected by Morris water maze in the next six days. One hour after the last water maze test, the serum and hippocampus were sampled to detect the expression of beta-amyloid protein and receptor for advanced glycation endproducts(RAGE) by immunohistochemical method and ELISA respectively. Results In place navigation tests, the escape incubation period(98.20±25.40)s in group P1 was obviously longer than that in N 1 group (47.50± 11.08) s (P< 0.01).Compared with P2 (99.79 ± 20.38) s, escape incubation period was shortened in N2 (50.70± 20.55) s (P< 0.05).There was no significantly difference between N2 and N1 (P>0.05), while the escape incubation period in group P2 was longer than P1 (P< 0.05).In spatial probe test, platform passing number ((2.86 ±1.46)times) in group P1 were less than that in N1 group ((7.50± 1.70) times, P<0.05).In group N2, the platform passing number ((6.60 ±3.91) times) were more than those in group P2 ((1.16 ±1.16)times, P<0.05) while there was no significant difference between group N1 and N2 (P>0.05).Times of crossing platform in group P2 were less than that in P1 group (P<0.05).Compared with group N1((147.83±60.88) ng/L) and N2((152.73±87.50) ng/L) ,the expression of RAGE protein was increased in group P1((629.89±110.33) ng/L) and P2((229.89±53.20) ng/L) (P<0.05).There was no significant difference between N1 and N2 groups(P>0.05) ,while the expression of RAGE protein in P1 group was lower than that of P2(P<0.05).In immunohistochemical test, positive expression cells in P1 ((18.49± 1.53) and P2 (25.67±3.08)) were higher than that in group N1(9.33±2.31) and group N2(12.14±2.52) (P<0.05) ,while there was no significant difference between group N1 and N2(P>0.05).Conclusions Anesthetic dose of propofol can injure spatial learning and memory ability in aged rats.Hyperlipidemia might act synergistically with propofol.

Adult male Kunming mice were divided into normal control group, propylthiouracil(PTU) treated group and PTU+T_4 treated group.Neurogranin(Ng)protein expression in the hippocampus after 8 weeks was assayed by Western blotting and immunohistochemical method. Results showed that Ng protein was decreased in the hippocampus of male mice with adult-onset hypothyroidism, suggesting that decreased Ng,which is correctable by T_4,is involved in cognitive dysfunction in adult-onset hypothyroid male mice.
6.Clinical application of the penetrating needling technique from Yemen (TE 2) to Zhongzhu (TE 3).
Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2012;32(3):264-266
The penetrating technique of acupuncture from Yemen (TE 2) to Zhongzhu (TE 3) acts on the extraordinary effect of promoting Shaoyang meridian qi. The technique is specially good for heat pattern/syndrome of the triple energizer and it is commonly used in the treatment of common cold, high fever, anhidrosis in heat pattern/syndrome, migraine, redness, swelling and pain of the eye, tinnitus, ear pain, swelling and pain of the teeth, ulcers in the mouth and tongue, sore throat, neck rigidity, etc. In the manipulation, the needle is inserted from Yemen (TE 2), going obliquely upward along the metacarpal interspace to Zhongzhu (TE 3). With this technique, the Ying-spring and Shu-stream acupoints can be stimulated simultaneously with one needle. This method is characterized as less acupoints, exquisite needling, strong sensation, easy and safe manipulation, remarkable immediate effect and high curative rate of single treatment. Hence, it is worthy of application in clinical practice.

OBJECTIVETo compare the differences in the therapeutic effect on irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) between acupuncture at Tianshu (ST 25) and Dachangshu (BL 25) and western medication with Trimebutine Maleate.
METHODSForty cases were divided randomly into an acupuncture group and a western medication group, 20 cases in each one. In acupuncture group, acupuncture was applied to Tianshu (ST 25) and Dachangshu (BL 25). Ziwu Daojiu needling technique was adopted, once daily. In western medication group, Trimebutine Maleate capsule was administered, 2 capsules in each time, 3 times per day. The assessment on the therapeutic effect was performed in 4 weeks of treatment in two groups.
RESULTSAs compared with those before treatment, the time of abdominal pain, the frequency of abdominal pain, the morbidity of abnormal stool appearance, the morbidity of defecation abnormality, the morbidity of mucus stool and the score of bloating or abdominal pain on bowel movement were all reduced after treatment in two groups (all P < 0.01). The results in acupuncture group were much more significant than those in western medication group (the total score: 16.70 +/- 2.40 vs 15.70 +/- 3.01, P < 0.01). The total effective rate in acupuncture group was 95.0% (19/20), which was superior to that of 70.0% (14/20) in western medication group (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONAcupuncture at Tianshu (ST 25) and Dachangshu (BL 25) may remarkably relieve the clinical symptoms of IBS and its efficacy is superior to that of oral medication with Trimebutine Maleate.

Objective To investigate the effects of hyperthyroidism on the electrophysiological characteristics of atrium and gap junction between atrium and pulmonary vein. Methods Twenty-four rabbits were randomly divided into control group and hyperthyroid group.Atrium and pulmonary vein were dissected after the atrial effective refractory period (AERP)was measured.Connexin 43(Cx43)and Counexin 40(Cx40)protein and mRNA were determined by Western blot and semi-quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction, respectively. Results In comparison with control group,AERP and rate adaption of AERP in hyperthyroid group were significantly shorter than that of control group( P<0.01).The concentration of Cx43 protein in hyperthyroid group was significantly higher than that of control group, but Cx40 protein was significantly lower than that of control group(P<0.05).The expression of Cx43 mRNA in atrium and pulmonary vein was found to be up-regulated in hyperthyroid group as compared with that of control group(P<0.01). With the level of Cx40 mRNA,there was no significant difference between two groups. Conclusion Thyroid hormone could lead to remodeling of both atrial electrophysiology and gap junction between atrium and pulmonary vein.
