Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science 2021;19(6):419-424
Objective: To explore the efficacy of mild moxibustion plus loratadine tablets for children with allergic rhinitis (AR).Methods: A total of 80 children were randomized into a control group and an observation group, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with loratadine tablets, and the observation group was treated with mild moxibustion plus loratadine tablets. Before and after treatment, the total nasal symptom score (TNSS) was evaluated, and the serum eosinophils (EOS) count, and the interleukin (IL)-27 and macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) levels were measured. Clinical efficacy was evaluated after treatment. Results: The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the TNSS in both groups decreased (P<0.05), and the TNSS in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05); the serum EOS count in both groups decreased (P<0.05), and the serum EOS count in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). The serum IL-27 level in the control group had no statistical difference compared with the same group before treatment (P>0.05), and the serum MIF level decreased after treatment (P<0.05). The serum IL-27 level in the observation group increased after treatment (P<0.05), and the serum MIF level decreased after treatment (P<0.05), and were both statistically different from those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Mild moxibustion plus loratadine tablets is effective in treating children with AR. It can significantly improve the nasal symptoms and reduce the serum EOS count, which may be related to the regulation of the serum IL-27 and MIF levels.

Objective To evaluate clinical effectiveness and influence factors in the treatment of benign and malignant esophageal stenosis by placing esophageal stent. Methods A series of this research comprised of 29 cases with esophageal cancer, 10 cardiac carcinoma, 5 cardiac achalasia, 6 benign esophageal stricture after operation. The lengths of lesion ranged from 2 to 14 cm in length with mean of 7.3 cm. Fistuli were found among malignant esophageal stenosis in 6 cases. According to the dysphagia scores, 12 cases were designated as Ⅰ grade, 31 with Ⅱ, and 14 with Ⅲ. 46 cases of malignancy were undertaken radiation therapy combined with transcatheter arterial chemotherapy from 15 to 30 days after stent placement. Results 62 stents were placed in 57 cases (52 domestic stents, 10 Boston ultraflex), including 4 cases with 2 stents being once placed, 1 case with second time stent placement because of restenosis 4 month later. All stents were placed successfully without serious complications, such as esophageal perforation, massive hemorrhage. 5 cases of cardiac achalasia and 6 cases of benign esophageal stricture are still alive now. The survival rates of 6, 12, 24 and 36 months in 46 malignant cases, were 67.4%(31/46), 43.5%(20/46), 26.1%(12/46), and 19.6%(9/46) respectively. Dysphagia were relieved significantly form 7 to 15 days after stent placement. Conclusions Esophageal stent placement combined with radiation therapy and transcatheter arterial chemotherapy could improve patient life qualities and survival rates significantly in malignant stricture. The effects on benign esophageal stricture by stent placement are comparable with that of surgical treatment.

Chinese Journal of Dermatology 1995;0(04):-
In order to study the values of MR/CT to the diagnosis, differential diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of systemic lupus erythematosis with neuropsyehiatric disorders (SLE-NP), MR/CT image changes of 22 examinations of skull/spinal cord in 16 patients with SLE-NP were analyzed. The results showed that the images of 18 examinations were abnormal (81.8%), including ischaemia/infarct (9 times), haemorrhage (3 times), focal demyelination (3 times), and cerebral atropy (6 times). The areas involved including basal ganglia (10 times), anterior horn of lateral ventricle (5 times), pons (1 time), and spinal cord (2 times). MR/CT is sensitive for the examination of lesions of SLE-NP, and the total positive rate is as high as 81.8%. Its high resolution rate can display the nature and areas of the lesions, which may provide valuable reference for the early diagnosis, differential diagnosis, treatment, evaluation of therapeutic efficacy and prognosis of SLE-NP.

This study was designed to discover filovirus entry inhibitors in a drug library of commercial medicines. One thousand and six hundred drugs were screened using the ZEBOV-GP/HIV model, a pseudovirus formed by an HIV-core packed with the Zaire Ebola virus glycoprotein. We identified 12 gonadal hormone drugs with inhibitory activities in ZEBOV-GP/HIV entry at final concentration of 10 μmol x L(-1). Among them, three drugs exhibited strong activities with IC50 < 1 μmol x L(-1), such as toremifene citrate (IC50: 0.19 ± 0.02 μmol x L(-1)), tamoxifen citrate (IC50: 0.32 ± 0.01 μmol x L(-1)) and clomiphene citrate (IC50: 0.53 ± 0.02 μmol x L(-1)); seven drugs had moderate activities with IC50 between 1 and 10 μmol x L(-1), such as estradiol benzoate (IC50: 1.83 ± 5.69 μmol x L(-1)), raloxifene hydrochloride (IC50: 3.48 ± 0.07 μmol x L(-1)), equilin (IC50: 4.00 ± 9.94 μmol x L(-1)), estradiol (IC50: 5.26 ± 9.92 μmol x L(-1)), quinestrol (IC50: 6.36?5.37 gmol-L1), estrone (IC50: 6.87 ± 0.03 μmol-L1) and finasteride (IC50: 9.94 ± 0.45 μmol x L(-1)); two drugs, hexestrol (IC50: 14.20 ± 0.55 μmol x L(-1)) and chlormadinone acetate (IC50: 24.60 ± 0.36 μmol x L(-1)), had weak activities against ZEBOV. Further, toremifene citrate, tamoxifen citrate, clomiphene citrate, raloxifene hydrochloride and quinestrol could block both pseudovirus type Sudan ebola virus (SEBOV-GP/HIV) and Marburg virus (MARV-GP/HIV) entries.

Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2003;0(04):-
Objective: To clone and express the preferentially expressed antigen of melanoma (PRAME) gene in E.coli. Methods: The cDNA encoding human PRAME gene was extracted from human AML cell line HL-60 and amplified by RT-PCR, then the PRAME gene was inserted into plasmid PGEM-T-easy. After sequenced, it was cloned into the prokaryotic expression vector pGEX-4T-2 to construct a clone with high level expression and the recombinant plasmid was cloned in E.coli. Results:The protein product reached the highest level at 5 h after IPTG induction. Conclusion: Since PRAME is only expressed at low levels in a few normal tissues and encodes an antigen recognized by autologous cytotoxic T lymphocytes, while expressed at high levels in patients with leukemia, it might be a new targeting candidate for tumor immunotherapy.
