OBJECTIVE To investigae the gene resistant to quaternary ammonium compounds of multiple drug resistant Acinetobacter baumannii(MDR-ABA).METHODS The quaternary ammonium compounds qacE?1 gene in 20 MDR-ABA strains were detected by PCR.RESULTS The 20 MDR-ABA strains showed multiple resistance,its sensitivity to imipenm was 65% only.Among twenty strains of MDR-ABA qacE?1 gene were all positive.CONCLUSIONS The results indicate that qacE?1 gene were all carred class 1 integron.The chlorhexidine usage in prevnting hospital infection after surgery should be reevaluated.

Objective To investigate the expression level of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and its effects on cell proliferation activity and apoptosis in colorectal carcinoma. Methods The expression of COX-2, proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) and apoptosis in 60 cases of colorectal carcinoma, 20 cases of colorectal adenoma and 20 cases of normal mucous were studied by the immunohistochemical and TUNEL methods, the apoptosis index(AI)and proliferation index(PI) were defined respectively. Results The positive expression rate of COX-2 in colorectal carcinoma was significantly higher than that in the other groups. Overexpression of COX-2 in colorectal carcinoma was related to its lymph node metastasis and the size of tumor and clinical stages. In the group with COX-2 positive expression, PI was higher than that in the group with COX-2 negative expression; whereas AI was higher in the latter group than in the former group. Conclusions The expression level of COX-2 may have a close correlation with cell proliferation and apoptosis, they may participate in oncogenesis and progression of colorectal carcinoma.

Objective Objective To investigate the clinical application of high-dose-rate(HDR)endobronchial brachytherapy for the treatment of primary lung cancer with atelectasis. Methods A total of 142 cases of lung cancer with atelectasis treated with HDR endobronchial brachytherapy and 71 cases(contr01)treated with extemal irradiation only at onr center of cancer were comparatively studied.1n the treatment group,with the aid of bmnchoscope,brachytherapy was applied 2 or 3 times at the dose of 8 Gy each time to a tissue depth of 1 to 1.5 cm.Cases in the contmlgroup,treated with external irradiation,received 60-70 Gy in total.Results Complete recruitment of atelectasis was observed in 80.28%cases of the treatment group and 64.79%in the control,T11ere Was significant difference between the two groups.Survival rates after 1,2 and 3 years in cases with complete remission of atelectasis in treatment group were 60.68%,44.44%and 23.93%,but 36.00%,28.00%and 16.00%in cases with no remission of atelectasis.Significant difference of one-year survival Was found between the two groups(P

Trans-cinnamaldehyde, as a preventive care of nature medicine, has great clinical and market potential. This paper gives a review about the pharmacological effects and mechanism of trans-cinnamaldehyde researched in the latest five years. We hope to provide some basic information for further research on trans-cinnamaldehyde.

Background The treatment timing and method of amblyopia rely on the plasticity of visual system.Synapsin is a family of presynaptic terminal specific protein.Its role in visual developmental plasticity is below understood.Objective To investigate the dynamic expressions of synapsin (T-synapsin),and phosphorylation of synapsin (p-synapsin Ⅰ a/b) in visual cortex of normal mice and further explore the role of synapsin in plasticity of visual system.Methods Forty-two clean neonatal C57BL/6 mice were collected.The mice were sacrificed at postnatal 7,14,21,28,35,42,60 days respectively to obtain the tissue samples of visual cortex.Expression levels of T-synapsin and p-synapsin in the visual cortex following the ageing were quantitatively detected using Western blot assay.Results The expression of synapsin in normal mice showed a dynamic increase with the ageing.The T-synapsin Ⅰ a/b/β-actin value in visual cortex was (21.32 ± 3.27) ％,(56.27 ± 10.18) ％,(77.05 ± 10.05) ％,(83.75±10.52) ％,(94.69±11.46)％,(98.75±5.86) ％ of adults mice (postnatal 60 days,P60) in the mice of postnatal 7,14,21,28,35,42 days,respectively,showing a significant difference among them (F =69.538,P ＜ 0.001).Compared with the adult mice,the T-synapsin Ⅰ a/b/β-actin value in the mice of P7,P14,P21,P28 was significantly lower (all at P＜0.05),but no significant difference was found between P35 and P60,P42 and P60 (P =0.280,0.798).The development trend of different synapsin subtypes,such as T-synapsin Ⅰ a/b,T-synapsin Ⅱ a,T-synapsin Ⅱ b and T-synapsin Ⅲ a,was not quite the same during the ageing.The expression of T-synapsin Ⅱ a and Ⅲ a increasing more slowly with development,and kept increasing until P60.Significant differences were found among various age of mice in T-synapsin Ⅱ a,Ⅱ b,Ⅲa respectively(F =42.492 55.595,39.172,all at P＜0.001).The p-synapsin Ⅰ a/b level in the visual cortex elevated with the ageing of the mice,and that peaked in P21 mice,which was (2.86±0.17) times more than that in adult mice.After that,the expression level of p-synapsin Ⅰ a/b dropped rapidly.A significant difference was found in the p-synapsin Ⅰ a/b expression among different ages of mice (F =22.620,P ＜ 0.001).Conclusions Synapsin level in visual cortex presents a developmental change which correlated with the onset and decline of the critical period.Synapsin is probably involved in the regulation of neural plasticity in visual cortex in critical period.

Objective To investigate the association between leukoaraiosis (LA) and early neurological deterioration (END) in patients with acute ischemic stroke.Methods Clinical data of 328 patients with acute ischemic stroke admitted in the hospital from January 2013 to January 2016 were retrospectively reviewed.According to the changes of National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) scores within 72 h after admission,88 patients (26.8%) were identified as END.Clinical manifestations,laboratory tests and radiographic findings were compared between END group and non-END group.ResultsUnivariate analysis indicated that age [(74.6±11.0) vs.(70.7±11.8) years,t=2.67,P=0.01],female sex [51.1% (45/ 88) vs.38.8%(93/240),χ2=4.05,P=0.04],initial NIHSS [M(Q1,Q3) 6(3,9) vs.3 (2,6),χ2=-4.38,P=0.00],systolic blood pressure [(155±28) vs.(149±20) mmHg(1 mmHg=0.133 kPa),t=2.04,P=0.04],responsible artery occlusion [18.2% (16/88) vs.8.3%(20/240),χ2=6.39,P=0.01],white cell count [(7.8±2.7) 109 vs.(7.1±2.2) 109,t=2.32,P=0.02],fasting blood glucose [(7.2±2.6) vs.(6.6±2.4) mmol/L,t=2.00,P<0.05] and C-reactive protein level [(24.5±27.1) vs.(14.6±23.2) g/L,t=3.25,P=0.00] were significantly different between END group and non-END group.After adjustment of confounding factors,LA in periventricular with Fazekas grade 2 (OR=2.309,95%CI: 1.070-4.984,P=0.03) and Fazekas grade 3 (OR=2.861,95%CI: 1.214-6.742,P=0.02) and LA in centrum semiovale with Fazekas grade 3 (OR=3.047,95%CI: 1.244-7.461,P=0.02) were independently associated with END.Conclusion Leukoaraiosis in periventricular group and centrum semiovale are associated with early neurological deterioration in patients with acute ischemic stroke.

Background Intermittent exotropia is a type of strabismus that between latent extropia and manifest extropia.The assessment of fusional convergence/divergence is important for understanding control ability of exodeviation in children with intermittent exotropia.Objective This study was to analyze the correlations between fusional convergence/divergence and control ability of exodeviation in children with intermittent exotropia.Methods Sixty-three children with intermittent exotropia were recruited in Beijing Tongren Eye Centre from July 2013 to February 2014 under the informed consent of children and their parents.Angle of deviation was measured by wearing prism and covering method alternately.The control ability of exodeviation was evaluated and scored by the Revised Newcastle Control Score (RNCS),and fusional convergence and divergence were measured with 1 Δ-40Δ horizonal prisms and regulating targets.The correlations between the measured parameters of fusional convergence/divergence and control scores of exotropia were analyzed by Spearman rank correlation analysis.Results The mean diopter of the right and left eyes was (-1.95 ± 1.63)D and (-2.01 ± 1.73)D,respectively,and the mean deviation angle for distantly and near was (36.67 ± 15.69) Δ and (38.25 ± 14.83) Δ,respectively,without significant differences between them (diopter:t =-0.13,P＞0.05;deviation angle:t =-0.57,P＞0.05).Considerably negative correlations were found between the breakpoints of fusional convergence for distant or near and control scores of exodeviation (rs =-0.41,P=0.03;rs =-0.56,P＜0.01).No significant correlations were found between the breakpoints of fusional divergence for distantly or near and control scores of exodeviation (rs =0.05,P =0.78;rs =0.04,P ＜0.75).In addtion,there was no significant correlation between fusional recovery level and control scores (both at P ＞ 0.05).Conclusions Breakpoints of fusional convergence may be useful in grading the severity of intermittent exotropia in children,and it is probably one of the surgical indications of intermittent exotropia.

Objective To evaluate the safety and feasibility of ketamine-propofol mixture anesthesia for 85 children with congenital heart disease undergoing cardiac catheterization.Methods Eighty-five children with congenital heart disease undergoing cardiac cathete-rization were randomly divided into ketamine group(K group,n=44)and ketamin-propofol group(KP group,n=41).K group:1 mg?kg-1 ketamine was injected intravenously and then infused at 50 ?g?kg-1?min-1 for anesthesia maintenance.KP group:anesthesia was induced with ketamine 1 mg?kg-1 and propofol 1 mg?kg-1 intravenously,and maintained by continuous infusion of ketamine(16.7 ?g?kg-1?min-1)and propofol(33.3 ?g?kg-1?min-1).Electrocardiogram,blood pressure,pluse,respiratory frequency,saturation of blood oxygen were continously monitored.Results Hemodynamic and respiratory function were stable in both 2 groups.Ketamine consumption in K group was significantly more than that in KP group[(52.1?2.8)?g?kg-1?min-1 vs(25.3?7.3)?g?kg-1?min-1],eye opening time and recovery time were also longer in K group than those in KP group [(50.2?16.5)min vs(40.4?18.3)min].Conclusion The ketamine-propofol mixture was a safe,efficacy anesthesia with excellent recovery in children with congenital heart disease undergoing cardiac catheterization.
