Objective To observe clinical effects and side reactions of Huayu pill combined with TC (Paclitaxel+Carboplatin) chemotherapeutic regimes on treating epithelial ovarian cancer. Methods All 60 patients with the epithelial ovarian cancer were randomly divided into the treated group (Huayu pill combined with TC chemotherapeutic, n=30) and the control group (TC chemotherapeutic regimes, n=30). Results The effective rate of the treated group and the control group was 46.7% and 37.9% respectively. Objective To discuss causation and clinical treatment of complication in anterior decompression and fixation technique (ADFT) for thoracolumbar fractures with associated paraplegia. Methods A total of 204 cases that had thoracolumbar fractures with paraplegia were operated with ADFT from 1998 to 2004. Of all, 51 times (34 cases) of complication took place. Change of Cob angle was measured according to X-film of thoracolumbar spine before and after operation. Meanwhile, sensation and motion of patients was evaluated. Results There was incision infection leading to septic cerebo-meningtis in one case, CSF leakage in seven, pneumothorax in eight, rib nerve-root injure in five, lumbar nerve-root injure in two, genitofemoral nerve injure in three, lateral femoral cutaneous nerve injure in two, kyphosis in three, deep venous thrombosis in three and eight times of skin-temperature change. X-film that was taken after operation for all patients showed scolisis in five cases. A follow up for 3-6 years (average 2.5 years) was performed in 84 cases, of which seven cases had chronic low-back pain, six scolisis and five kyphosis. No patient showed complications such as screw breakage, plate breakage, fixation device loosening and pseudo-articulation in thoracolumbar spine. Conclusions Many complications can be avoided if we master well anterior decompression and fixation technique of thoracolumbar fracture, reduce surgical trauma and give appropriate and rational guide for rehabilitation.

BACKGROUND:Methods after mechanical stimulation can be combined with various kinds of cells to produce many conversion types so as to start the various physiological functions of the body. OBJECTIVE:To analysis the reason why rol ing massage can improve the intracellular concentration of Ca2+METHODS:A biodynamic experimental device was set up, composed of pressure generating device, pressure forming device, pressure display device and related data recording device. We detected the effects of rol ing massage on Ca . 2+concentration in normal skeletal muscle cells and damaged cells through the different functions of the experimental device and system software. These functions consisted of pressure display, data transmission and recording, signal acquisition and processing, pressure signal acquisition, control and processing of signal acquisition, wireless signal transmission and receiving system, display system, storage system, system implementation function. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The experiment results showed that rol ing massage could reduce the Ca 2+concentration in the normal skeletal muscle cells and damaged cells. These findings suggest that rol ing massage can improve the overload of intracellular Ca2+in damaged cells, and it is superior to the sinusoidal mechanical stimulus.

Background Excimer laser corneal refractive surgery is widely used because it reduces the dependency of refractive error eye to glasses.However,the adverse effects of anti-inflammatory drugs is a problem after operation.Lotemax eyedrops is a kind of steroidal anti-inflammatory drug,with a good effect on the operative eye.But its influence on intraocular pressure(IOP) after long-term topical administration is less studied.Objective This study was to investigate the influence of lotemax eyedrops on IOP after long-term topical administration in myopic eyes received excimer laser corneal refractive surgery.Methods An one-month retrospective case serial study was adopted.The case history data of 1552 eyes from 1552 Patients who received excimer laser corneal refractive surgery were collected in Tangshan Eye Hospital from 2011 January to 2012 January,including 321 eyes with laser in situ keratomileusis(LASIK),608 eyes with sub-Bowman keratomileusis (SBK) and 623 eyes with femtosecond laser for flap excimer laser in situ keratomileusis(FS-LASIK).Lotemax eyedrops was topically administered after operation 4 times per day initial and then decreased 1 time weekly for 1 month.IOP was measured in before,1 week,2 weeks,3 weeks,4 weeks after operation with non-contact tonometer.The increasing range of IOP was divided into ＜5 mmHg,5-15 mmHg and ＞ 15 mmHg after operation.Optical head parameters were measured by Heidelberg retina tomography when IOP increasing after operation.Results Within 1 month,elevated IOP was found in 47 of 1552 eyes after administration of lotemax eyedrops,including 3.12％ (10/321) in the LASIK group,3.29％ (20/608) in the SBK group and 2.73％ (17/623) in the FS-LASIK group,without significant difference among them(x2 =1.95,P＞0.05).The IOP elevated 1 week after operation and remained normal after that till drug withdrawal in all eyes.There were no significant differences in the disk area (1.65 ±0.44) mm2 vs.(1.66 ±0.44) mm2,disk volume (0.40 ±0.09)mm3 vs.(0.39±0.08) mm3 and mean nerve fiber layer thickness (0.28 ± 0.08) mm vs.(0.29 ± 0.07) mm in IOP elevation duration compared with 1 month after IOP recovery(t =0.34,0.81,0.48,P＞0.05).Conclusions Topical administration of 0.5％ lotemax eyedrops after excimer laser corneal refractive surgery leads to reversible high IOP.It is very important to monitor the IOP during use of the drug.

Objective To evaluate the value of proton magnetic resonance spectrum (1H-MRS) in the differential diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease (AD) and vascular dementia (VD) patients with white matter lesions (WMLs).Methods Multi voxel 1H-MRS were performed to 30 patients with AD,30 patients with VD,and 30 normal control volunteers.The levels of the N-acetylaspartate (NAA),myo-inositol (mI),glutamate (Glu),and creatine (Cr) were measured in the white matter adjacent to the lateral ventricles.The ratios of NAA/Cr,mI/Cr and Glu/Cr were calculated and compared among the group.Comparisons of the 1H-MRS indexes among AD,VD and NC group were conducted by one-way ANOVA.Results NAA/Cr ratios of the region of interesting in AD (1.59±0.15)and VD(1.53±0.12) group were significantly decreased compared with NC (1.79±0.22)group (P＜0.05),and Glu/Cr ratios of the region of interesting in AD(0.41±0.03) and VD(0.49±0.04) group were significantly decreased compared with NC(0.57±0.05) group (P＜0.05).However,there were not significant differences for NAA/Cr ratios of the paraventricular white matter region between AD and VD group (P＞0.05),and Glu/Cr ratios in AD and VD groups were significantly different (P＜0.05).A significantly increased mI/Cr was found in AD (0.68±0.05) group than in VD(0.57±0.04) and NC(0.55±0.03) groups (P＜0.05),and there were no significant changes in mI/Cr ratios between VD and NC groups (P＞0.05).Conciusion Multi-voxel 1H-MRS is an effective method in the differential diagnosis of dementia,and changes of the mI/Cr and Glu/Cr ratios of the white matter adjacent to the lateral ventricles may help to identify the AD and VD patients.

Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) for duodenal cysts.Methods Clinical manifestations, results of conventional gastroscopy and EUS, as well as follow-up, of patients with duodenal cysts were retrospectively analyzed.Results A total of 105 patients with duodenal cysts presented with no lesion-related symptoms, but displayed characteristic imaging changes under EUS, which could reveal the origin, size and nature of duodenal cysts, and differentiate it from other submucosal lesions.A maximum follow-up of 5 years showed no changes in duodenal cysts.Conclusion Duodenal cyst is a benign disease, and EUS plays a very important role in diagnosis of the disease.
