Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 1993;0(06):-
Objective: To study therapeutic effect and mechanisms of inhalation of drug-oxygen Fuchong Xiangye for treatment of vascular dementia. Methods: 123 cases were randomly divided into treatment group and control group by single-blind. Thertapeutic effects, superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity in red cells, plasma lipid peroxide, triglyceride, serum cholesterol and high density lipid protein (HDL) levels, and electroencephalogram were investigated before and after treatment. Results: The improvement of symptom scores and the above indexes after treatment in the treatment group were more obvious than those in the control group, with no reserve reaction in both groups. Conclusion: Inhalation of drug-oxygen Fuchong Xiangye has a better therapeutic effect on vascular dementia, and the mechanism is related with decrease of blood lipid, and increase of HDL and SOD.

Objective To study the anti-dermatophytic effect of chitosan-acetate solution and to determine the antifungal MIC. Methods To determine the antifungal MIC of chitosan and acetic acid by agar dilution method, respectively. Results Both antifungi MIC of chitosan to Trichophyton rubrum and Trichophyton tonsurans were 2500mg?L~ -1 ,and to Trichophyton mentagrophytes,Microsporum gypseum,C. albicans were 5000mg?L~ -1;while the antifungi MIC of acetic acid to Trichophyton rubrum and Trichophyton tonsurans were 630mg?L~ -1, to Trichophyton mentagrophytes,Microsporum gypseum,Candida albicans were 1260mg?L~ -1. Conclusion Chitosan and acetic acid show inhibitory effect on the growth of dermatophytes.

Objective To study the effect of dialysis adcquacy, microinflammation and residual renal function on nutritional status of hemodialysis patients. Methods One hundred and fourteen patients were enrolled in this study.Kt/V,?_2-MG and serum iPTH were measured as markers of hemodialysis adequacy.Nutritional evaluation included MQSGA,Alb,Hb,TF,IGF-1,IGFBP-3 and anthropometrics such as HGS,BSF,TSF,MAC,MAMC and AMA.Serum IL-6,TNF-?and CRP were detected to assess microinflammation.Urinary volume of 24 hours was measured to investigate the residual renal function (RRF).Results (1)There were different correlations and regressive associations of Kt/V,iPTH and?_2-MG with HGS,MAMC,AMA,Alb,Hb,nPCR,IGF-1 and MQSGA respectively.(2) There were significant correlations and regressive associations of RRF to HGS,TSF,MAMC,Alb,nPCR and IGF-1 within the first year of hemodialysis.(3) There were different correlations and regression relationships of IL-6,TNF-?and CRP with HGS、MAMC、AMA、Alb、TSF、Hb、nPCR、IGF-1 respectively.(4) Multivariate analysis showed that Kt/V,iPTH,IL-6, TNF-?,?_2-MG and RRF were influencing factors, among them,Kt/V,iPTH,IL-6 and TNF-?were independent predictors of nutritional status. Conclusions Hemodialysis adequacy and micruinflammation may impact on nutritional status.Residual renal function may be involved in nutritional status in the first year of hemodialysis.Kt/V,iPTH,IL-6 and TNF-?are independent factors affecting nutritional status.

Objective To investigate the effects of neutrophil gelatinase associated lipocalin(NGAL) on renal tubular epithelial cells apoptosis and apoptosis-regulated protein fas,bcl-2 in rat renal ischemia reperfusion injury (IRI).Methods Renal IRI models of rats were established.Rats were randomly divided into 3 groups, including control group,IRI model group and NGAL group. The pathological change of kidney tissue was investigated by hemotoxylin-eosin staining.Renal tubular epithelial cells apoptosis was detected by TUNEL method.Expression of fas and bcl-2 was measured by real-time PCR and Western blotting. Results Compared with IRI model group,NGAL group showed a decreased number of renal tubular epithelial cells apoptosis [(8.6±3.4)/HP vs (20.8±3.7)/HP,P<0.05],down-regulated fas mRNA (2.34±0.51 vs 6.84±2.34,P< 0.05),fas protein (0.65±0.05 vs 0.95±0.08,P<0.05) and up-regulated bcl-2 protein (0.33±0.05 vs 0.24±0.03,P<0.05),but the bcl-2 mRNA had no significant change. Conclusion NGAL can protect renal tubular epithelial cells in renal IRI,which may be associated with decreasing cell apoptosis and adjusting protein expression by apoptosis-regulated cytokines.

BACKGROUND:The methods used to repair articular cartilage defects currently have the cons and pros. Fibrocartilages are commonly used to repair tissues, and the fibrocartilage lacks of the tissue biomechanical properties and chemical properties of normal hyaline cartilage. OBJECTIVE:To investigate the feasibility of biological osteochondral xenogenic graft transplantation to repair articular cartilage defects. METHODS:The normal goats were randomly divided into two groups. The donor pig knee joints were the experimental group. Cylindrical osteochondral with the diameter of 4.5 mm and length of 10 mm were col ected with the Smith&Nephew osteochondral transplantation device, and the patented technology was used for deantigen. The donor goat knee joint osteochondrals were the control group and preserved with cryopreservation. The lesions on femoral trochlea and weight-bearing surface of medial condyle were selected respectively for osteochondral implantation, and the animals were sacrificed at 16 and 32 weeks after operation for the general and pathological section observation. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:General observation in the experimental showed that the lesions were covered by fibroid tissue;some cartilage of the grafts turned yel ow and there was clear boundary between the surface and the peripheral cartilages;the general and section observation under microscope showed that lesions of the control group were covered by the grafts basical y, and cracks could be seen on the edge of the transplant part. The results show that there is difference between effects of biological osteochondral xenogenic graft transplantation and osteochondral al ograft transplantation for the repairing of articular cartilage defects, and osteochondral al ograft transplantation bas better effect.

Objective To compare the clinical effect of hepatic artery perfusion of antibiotics with that of intravenous administration of antibiotics in treating pyogenic liver abscess which is unsuitable for puncture drainage management. Methods Between October 2010 and October 2013, a total of 32 cases with bacterial liver abscesses which were unsuitable for puncture drainage management were encountered at the Third Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University. The patients were divided into group A (n = 15) and group B (n = 17). Hepatic arterial perfusion of antibiotics was carried out in the patients of group A, while intravenous administration of antibiotics was employed in the patients of group B. Percutaneous puncture drainage was adopted in the patients when their imaging examination showed liquefaction within the lesion. Results The hospitalization time, recovery time of body temperature, hemogram recovery time and liquefaction extent of the lesion in group A were much better than those in group B , and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion Hepatic arterial perfusion of antibiotics is an important and effective treatment for bacterial liver abscesses.
