Objective To evaluate the value of serum tumor markers in diagnosis of over 80 years old patients with colorectal cancer.Methods Serum CA199,CA242 and CEA of 68 cases senile patients with colorectal cancer and 35 cases senile patients with benign large intestinal diseases were detected by ELISA.Results Serum levels of CA199,CA242 and CEA in patients with colorectal cancer were (37.95 ± 15.95 ) U/ml,( 50.08 ± 24.20 ) U/ml,( 22.34 ± 17.35 ) μg/L respectively and were significantly higher than that in patients with benign large intestinal diseases CA199 ( 10.73 ± 6.27 ) U/ml,CA242 ( 8.00 ± 3.52 ) U/ml,CEA(2.32 ± 1.01 )μg/L.In addition,the level of these three markers was increased with the progress of colorectal cancer and the sensitivity of diagnosis was related with the stages of colorectal cancer.Parallel combined testing methods increased the diagnostic sensitivity to 83.6％,and serial combined testing increased the diagnostic specificity to 88.7 ％.Conclusions Serum tumor markers showed certain values in the diagnosis of the senile patients with colorectal carcinoma.Furthermore,the combined determination of tumor markers is helpful for early diagnosis of colorectal cancer and increases the sensitivity and specificity in diagnosing of colorectal carcinoma.

Objective To clarify the combined ability of viral macrophage inflammatory protein (vMIP) to receptors through comparison research of vMIP binding to chemokine receptors of peripheral blood macrophages(PBMCs). Methods Combined ability of vMIP to receptors was measured with radioligand assay and identified with saturation, kinetic and specificity analyses. Results Kd is 11.1 nmol/L to human receptors of PBMC and 14.3 nmol/L to monkey receptors. The IC50 is 3.4 nmol/L to CCR5 and 4.5 nmol/L to CXCR4. Conclusion vMIP has high affinity with receptors and high specificity to CCR5 and CXCR4.This may be of great significance in the prevention and treatment of inflammation and HIV infection.

Background Human retinal pigment epithelial (RPE) cell transplantation treating retinal degenerative diseases is a researching topic,and the source of human RPE cells is a key problem.Many biological carriers can be used for the preparation of RPE cell layer.However,some advantages,such as cytotoxicity,lack of stability and immunologic reaction etc.are still existed.To study an ideal biological carrier is very important.Objective This experimental was to determine the effects of amniotic membrane on the proliferation and differentiation of human RPE cells and the possibility as a scaffold for RPE cell transplantation.Methods ARPE19 cell line cells were cultured and passaged in DMEM/F12 medium with 10％ fetal bovine serum,and 8-12generation of cells were used.The cells were divided into two groups.One group of cells were incubated on the denuded amniotic membrane,and the other group of cells were cultured in the medium (control group).MTT was performed to detect the A492 value of RPE cells for the evaluation of cell proliferation ability 24,48,72,96 hours after culture.Cell morphology was compared by histopathological examination 3 weeks after culture.The mRNA expression of pigment epithelium-derived factor (PEDF),N-cadherin,β-catenin and cell connection related proteins in the cells of both groups were assayed using reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR).Ultrastructure of the cells was observed under the transmission and scan electronic microscope 3 weeks after culture.Results The number of ARPE-19 cells cultured on denuded amniotic membrane was decreased significantly in comparison with the normal culture plate(F=41.760,P =0.000).Histopatholy also showed that the cell density on amniotic membrane was lower than of normal cells on plate surface.Moreover,the expression level of claudin 1 mRNA,N-cadherin mRNA and PEDF mRNA were significantly up-regulated in denuded amniotic membrane group in comparison with control group (t=15.828,P=0.000 ;t=6.839,P=0.002 ;t=14.667,P=0.000),but the expression of Connexin 43 mRNA was down-regulated in denuded amniotic membrane group compared with control group(t=3.358,P=0.024).Ultrastructural examination revealed that ARPE-19 cells cultured on amniotic membrane exhibited a polygonal epithelial phenotype with cilium on the apical side,however,the cells cultured on normal culture plate displayed fusiform shape and uneven thickness.Conclusions Amniotic membrane plays a promoting effect on the differentiation of ARPE-19 cells and a inhibitory effect on the proliferation of ARPE-19 cells,suggesting that amniotic membrane might be an useful scaffold for the preparation of functionally mature RPE cells for clinical transplantation.

Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value of ultrasonography on thyroid microcarcinoma ,and to find out its sono-graphic characteristics .Methods Ultrasound performance of 206 thyroid microcarcinoma nodules in 150 patients confirmed by sur-gery and pathology were retrospectively analyzed ,nodules internal echo ,boundary ,the shape ,the blood flow and internal calcifica-tion and calcification size ,distribution and type were observed and compared with 82 benign nodules(diameter ≤1 cm) .Results In terms of solid low echo ,minicalcification ,aspect ratio≥1 ,rich blood flow and neck lymph node enlargement ,thyroid microcarcinoma were significantly higher than that of thyroid benign nodules (P<0 .05) .Ultrasonographic performance of thyroid microcarcinoma often presented as solid low echo ,irregular form ,aspect ratio ≥1 ,internal mostly small calcification ,edge blur and the surrounding small burrs .Color doppler blood flow showed that ,blood supply was rich in patients with strong nodules ,distribution was irregular , smaller nodules blood flow was not rich .Conclusion The two-dimensional and color doppler flow imaging(cdfi) might be has a im-portand value on thyroid microcarcinoma diagnosis .

Objective To investigate the better medical resource allocation scheme by analyzing the overall situation and regional characteristics of intraocular lens diopter in cataract patients on Lifeline Express.Methods The total of 27 663 patients data from seven administrative regions of China on cataract surgery in China Lifeline Express from 2014 to 2016 were collected.All diopter values of IOL were recorded to grasp the overall distribution of IOL diopter in cataract patients,and the distributive difference among administrative regions was analyzed.Results The distribution of IOL diopter in 27 663 cataract patients presented a skewed trend,with peak value in 21-＜22 D.The greater frequency of IOL diopter was mainly concentrated in 19-＜24 D,accounting for 72.48％ of the total.The IOL diopter peak was present in 22-＜ 23 D in Northeast China,North China,Central China,East China,and the overall waveform offset to a large degree direction.The IOL diopter peak was present in 21-＜ 22 D in Northwest,Southwest,South China,and the overall waveform showed the trend of small degree direction.The occurrence frequency of IOL with diopter ＜ 10 D was significantly more obvious in Northwest,Northeast China,North China and East China.At the same time,the occurrence frequency of IOL with diopter ≥25 D was significantly more obvious in Central China,Northeast China,East China,North China.Conclusion The IOL diopter values of cataract patients in different administrative regions present a skewed distribution and there are subtle differences between different regions.The results can provide the basis for resource allocation for large scale cataract surgery in each area.

Objective To study the changes of umbilical blood lactate,pH, blood sugar(BS),bilirubin, electrolyte, osmotic pressure (OP) in the newboms with fetal distress.Methods Thirty-five newborns with fetal distress (distress group) and 40 healthy new-borns (control group) were studied. Distress group were divided into distress group Ⅰ and distress group Ⅱ respectively, based on without or with neonatal asphyxia. Concentration of umbilical blood lactate was determined with enzyme method, pH, BS,serum total bilirubin (BIL), serum electrolyte (Na+ ,K+ ,Ca2+ ) and OP were analyzed respectively. Results 1. The difference of incidence of newborn asphyxia between distress groups (29.03%) and control group (2.50%) was statistically significant. 2. Compared with the controls and distress group Ⅰ, the umbilical blood lactate concentration significantly increased in distress group Ⅱ (P 0.05).The incidence of hyperglycemia was significantly elevated in distress groups than that in the control group. 4. Lactate concentration in distress I and distress fl group showed negative correlation with pH. Conclusion The concentration of umbilical blood lactate can provide the proof for diagnosis and prognosis of fetal distress.

ObjectiveTo study the proper treatment of the patient with positive margins after cervical conization. MethodsA total of 220 cervical conizations were performed in the department of obstetrics and gynecology in Conception Hospital in Marseille in France from January 1, 1996 to June 30, 1998. Among them, we studied 73 patients, who had positive margins, by using cervical cytology examination and colposcopy in 3,6,12,18 and 24 months after cervical conization. Results7 cases of cancer invasive were treated with radiotherapy; 17 underwent a second conization or hysterectomy, among whom 8 had residual disease of positive margins near internal orifice of uterus (residual rate, 47. 06 ％ ); 40 remained follow- up; but 9 were lost.ConclusionCytology and colposcopy are effec- tive in the surveillance of patients with positive margins after cervical conization, and can give the indica- tion of the second conization.

AIM:To observe the image features of Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada disease (VKH) and multiple central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC) by fundus fluorescein angiography (FFA) and optical coherence tomography (OCT).METHODS:Thirty-two eyes of 17 patients with VKH and thirty-five eyes of 30 patients with multiple CSC were collected from 2009 to 2016 in my hospital.RESULTS:All the eyes with VKH were found small and dense fluorescein leakage in the early stage.The 17 eyes (53%) with VKH were found fluorescein accumulation in the final stage;24 eyes (75%) with VKH were found high fluorescence of optic disc.All of eyes with multiple CSC were found multifocal leakage in the early stage.And 2 eyes (6%) with multiple CSC were found high fluorescence of optic disc.There were 28 eyes (14 patients) with VKH and 25 eyes (22 patients) with multiple CSC had been done OCT in my hospital.Retinal pigment epithelial fold was only found in VKH.Fluctuation of internal limiting membrane (ILM) and membrane structure had higher sensitivity to diagnostic VKH from to multiple CSC, with sensitivity of 54% and 68% respectively.CONCLUSION:There are some similarities as well as differences between FFA and OCT in diagnosis of VKH and multiple CSC.A combination usage of FFA and OCT can be more effective in distinguishing VKH from multiple CSC.

Objective To investigate the effect of salvia mihiorrhiza on spinal cord ischemia reperfusion injury after surgical treatment in patients with cervical canal stenosis. Methods Retrospective analysis of 64 cases had cervical canal stenosis in the last 5 years in our hospital. Sixty-four cases were randomly divided into the salvia mihiorrhiza group(31 cases)and the control group(33 cases). The therapeutic effect was assessed using JOA grade system. Results In the salvia mihiorrhiza group,the JOA average score was 8. 8 ±2. 6 before surgical treatment, after two weeks of surgical treatment it was 13. 7 ± 2. 4. The JOA improvement ratio was (61. 5 ± 2. 9) % . In the control group,the JOA average score was 9. 1 ±2. 2 before surgical treatment,after two weeks of surgical treatment it was 13. 4 ± 2. 3. The JOA improvement ratio was (60. 5 ± 2.2)% .The JOA improvement ratio in the salvia mihiorrhiza group was significantly higher than that in the control group (P < 0. 05) . Conclusions Salvia mihiorrhiza has protective effect on spinal cord ischemia reperfusion injury.
