OBJECTIVETo search for the optimal strategies for sperm collection from the patient with temporary penile erectile dysfunction (ED) on the day of oocyte pick-up ( OPU) in in vitro fertilization embryo transfer (IVF-ET).
METHODSWe retrospectively analyzed 93 cases of temporary ED on the OPU day of IVF-ET from January 2011 to May 2014, with fresh semen for 45 cases (group A), cryopreserved sperm before oocyte retrieval for 30 cases (group B), and frozen oocytes for 18 cases (group C). Group A was again subdivided into A1 (n = 18) and A2 n = 27) , the former intervened with oral sildenafil while the latter left untreated. We compared the rates of fertilization, high-quality embryo, and pregnancy among different groups.
RESULTSNo statistically significant differences were found among groups A, B and C in the age of the males and females, duration of infertility, numbers of obtained and mature oocytes, and rates of cleavage, or in the percentages of normal fertilization (80.78% vs 80.43% vs 84.77%), high-quality embryo (53.27% vs 52.97% vs 47.69%) and pregnancy (60.00% vs 56.77% vs 44.44%) (all P > 0.05). The rate of 3PN was markedly lower in group C (0.63%) than in A (9. 61%) and B (4.34%) (P < 0.05). There were no significant differences between groups A1 and A2 in the age of the males and females, duration of infertility, numbers of obtained and mature oocytes, and the rates of fertilization, cleavage, high-quality embryo, and pregnancy (all P > 0.05).
CONCLUSIONOn the OPU day of IVF-ET, oral sildenafil can help temporary ED men to achieve penile erection and ejaculation without affecting the outcomes of assisted reproduction. Cryopreserved sperm can be used in case of predicted temporary ED and frozen oocytes can also be employed if sperm retrieval fails. However, to avoid puncture injury to the epididymis or testis, fresh semen should be the first choice.

OBJECTIVETo establish the mathematical kinetic model of the components extracted from the FTMC (formulae of the traditional Chinese medicine) and analyze parameters of the astragaloside IV extracted from the BYHWD (Buyang Huanwu decoction).
METHODThe model, including algebra and differential groups, have been set up according to the FICK discipline and Noyes-whitney soluted theories, as well as two transfer diffusive processes ((1) from protoplasate to apoplasmic, also from material compartment interior cell membrane to outside compartment; (2) apoplasmic to solution, also from outside compartment to solvent compartment) on components extraction from the FTMC. The equation groups, according to laplace transform, have been given a expression as solutions, which indicate the quantitative changes of the component concentration in solvent vs. time. The model kinetic parameters have been analyzed, meanwhile the parameters of the astragaloside IV in the BYHWD under 100 degrees C, extracted by water, have been analyzed by way of this model:
RESULTIt has been established a mathematical model that consists of three parts of e exponent. The kinetic parameters: M, alpha, N, beta, L, pi, K, k1', k2', rho1, rho2, tmax, Cmax, AUC, w0, P, D of the BYHWD were respectivelly 0.061 27% , 0.280 2 min(-1), - 1.027% , 0.008 965 min(-1), 1.077%, 0.002 665 min(-1), 3.451 x 10(-3) min(-1), 3.188 x 10(-3) min(-1), 0.375 9 min(-1), 1.420 min, 0.754 7 min, 184.9 min, 0. 0572 1 mg x mL(-1), 289.9 min, 0.070 11%, 46.24%, 22. 35%.
CONCLUSIONThe kinetic model, applied to isolated system, can have been of the rule of multiplex linear. Each parameters can be analyzed completely.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the effect of Endostatin and SU6668 combined with 5-FU on the growth and metastasis of human colon cancer in vivo and its mechanism.
METHODSMetastatic model of human colon cancer was established by orthotopic implantation of human tumor tissue into colon wall of nude mice. Twelve days later, mice were randomly divided into saline water control, Endostatin, SU6668, Endostatin plus SU6668, and Endostatin plus SU6668 and 5-FU groups, intraperitoneal injected respectively every day for four weeks. Six weeks after implication, the tumor weight, inhibition rates, intratumoral microvessel density (MVD) and metastasis were evaluated after the mice were sacrificed.
RESULTSCompared with the control, tumor growth was significantly inhibited in mice treated respectively with Endostatin, SU6668, Endostatin plus SU6668 and Endostatin plus SU6668 and 5-FU with an inhibition rate of 0, 64.9%, 63.5%, 76.4% and 88.2% respectively, and MVD decreased significantly in treated groups [(18.10+/-5.65) vs (2.75+/-0.75), (3.17+/-0.58), (0.94+/-0.42) and (0.36+/-0.45)]. The incidences of peritoneal and region lymph node metastases were significantly inhibited in Endostatin, SU6668, Endostatin plus SU6668 and Endostatin plus SU6668 and 5-FU (90% vs 16.7%, 25%, 0 and 0; 90% vs 0, 0, 0 and 0). The growth and metastasis of human colon cancer implanted in nude mice were significantly inhibited in Endostatin, SU6668, Endostatin plus SU6668, and Endostatin plus SU6668 and 5-FU, and the effect of Endostatin plus SU6668 and 5-FU was the most obviously.
CONCLUSIONEndostatin plus SU6668 and 5-FU has strong inhibitory effect both on tumor growth and metastasis of human colon cancer.

OBJECTIVETo compare clinical effect between calcaneal locking plates and tension band with Kirschner's nail for the treatment of patellar fracture.
METHODSFrom December 2009 to December 2017, 58 patients with patellar fracture were divided into plate group(calcaneal locking plate) and tension band(tension band with Kirschner's nail) by surgical method. There were 29 patients in plate group, including 14 males and 15 females, aged from 18 to 72 years old with an average of (36.9±11.5) years old; while there were 29 patients in tension band group, including 17 males and 12 females, aged from 20 to 70 years old with an average of (37.7±14.4) years old. Operative time, blood loss, fracture healing time, follow-up time and postoperative complications were compared between two groups. Böstman score was applied to compared therapeutic effects at 12 months after operation.
RESULTSThere was no significant differences in following-up time between plate group(18.4±2.6) months and tension band group(17.8±3.6) months. According to Böstman score at 12 months after operation, plate group was (28.5±4.6) and (25.7±4.3) in tension band group, and had statistical difference between two group(=2.395, =0.020). Twenty-six patients got excellent results, 3 moderate in plate group; while 14 patients got excellent results, 11 moderate and 4 poor in tension band group, and had obviously meaning between two groups(χ²=12.17 =0.02). There were no significant differences in operative time(=1.978, =0.53), blood loss(=1.740, =0.87), fracture healing time(=0.65, =0.517) and postoperative complications(χ²=0.268, =0.604) between two groups.
CONCLUSIONSCalcaneal locking plates for patellar fracture has advantages of more wide range of clinical application, more reliable fixation, and more satisfactory surgical curative method, its clinical effects is better than that of tension band with kirschner nail.

Background The incidence of retinal vascular diseases increase annually, such as diabetic retinopathy, retinopathy of prematurity and age-related macular degeneration. The key of treatment for these diseases is how to evaluate retinal vascular change effectively and objectively.Retro-orbital injection of fluorescein isothiocyanatedextran (FITC-dextran) is a simple and effective method for observing C57BL/6J mouse retinal vessels. But,whether it is suitable for other mice and rats is seldom reported. Objective This experiment was to assess the feasibility of the observation of retinal vessels by retro-orbital injection of FITC-dextran in different genus of mouse and offer the reference for relevant study. Methods Twelve animals of C57BL/6J mice,Kunming mice,SD rats and Wistar rats were selected, respectively and divided into the experimental group and control group at average. The right eyes of the animals of the experimental group received the retro-orbital injection of 9 ml/kg FITC-dextran,and the right eyes of animals of the control group received PBS solution at the same volume and way.All the animals were sacrificed 10 seconds after injection and both eyes of each animal were obtained for retinal stretched preparation. The retrobulbar tissue and whole-mount retina were viewed under a fluorescence microscope. The use of the animals complied with Regulation for the Administration of Affair Concerning Experimental Animals by State Science and Technology Commission. Results Retinal blood vessels labeled by FITC-dextran could be observed in both eyes of C57BL/6J mice and Kunming mice to present with a green fluorescence in experimental group under a fluorescence microscope, but no any fluorescence-labeled retinal blood vessel was exhibited in the control mice. The retinal blood vessel could not be observed in all eyes of SD rats and Wistar rats after the injection of FITC-dextran both in the experimental group and the control group under a fluorescence microscope. The surrounding tissues of the right eyes of mice and rats dyed with green fluorescence of FITC-dextran in the experimental group, however, green fluorescence could not be seen in the surrounding tissues of the left eyes of mice and rats. Conclusions Retro-orbital injection of FITC-dextran is a suitable method of observing the retinal vessels of mouse but not rat.
