Objective: To establish the fingerprint chromatography of Shujin Huoxue products (Shujin Huoxue Capsule and Shujin Huoxue Tablet) and provide a reference for its overall quality evaluation. Methods: The analysis was performed on Agilent Poroshell 120 SB-C18 (150 mm × 4.6 mm, 2.7 μm) column with acetonitrile-0.2% formic acid solution for gradient elution, the flow rate was 0.5 mL/min, the detection wavelength was 277 nm, and the column temperature was 30 oC. HPLC of 23 batches of Shujin Huoxue products were analyzed by the software “Similarity Evaluation System for Chromatographic Fingerprint of TCM (2012 edition)” combined with principal component analysis (PCA), cluster analysis (CA), and orthogonal partial least squares discriminant analysis (OPLS-DA). Results: The similarity of 18 batches (S1-S17 and S23) of samples was more than 0.900, 23 batches of samples could be clustered into three groups by PCA, CA, and OPLS-DA analysis. Among these, S1-S16 were clustered into group I, S23 and S17 could be divided into group II, and S18-S22 were clustered into group III. Four common peaks with larger differences were determined from 10 common peaks, including peaks 1, 3 (5-hydroxymethylfurfural), 6 (phenylacetic acid), and 10 (4-methoxy salicylaldehyde). Conclusion: Fingerprint chromatography combined with chemical pattern recognition technique was stable and simple, which could be used to evaluate the quality of Shujin Huoxue products systematically and comprehensively.

Behcet's Disease is a chronic systemic disorder characterized by recurrent oral and genital ulcerations, ocular inflammation, having manifestations related to skin and joints. Neurologic signs can also be observed seldomly during the course of the disease. In this report a case of Behcet's disease with neurological involvement was presented.

Objective To investigate the effects of enteral nutrition support with different doses of glutamine on nutritional status and gastrointestinal function in elderly critically ill patients.Methods Totally 90 critically ill patients were randomly divided into three group:the control group without glutamine (group A),enteral nutrition with low glutamine [0.3 g/(kg· d)] (group B),and high glutamine [0.6 g/(kg· d)] groups (group C).Fasting blood samples were collected on days 1,7,and 14 after the initiation of study,and then the indicators including serum diamine oxidase,glutamine,transferin (TF),prealbumin (PA),hemoglobin (HGB),albunin,and nitrogen balance were determined.In addition,the gastrointestinal complications including bloating,diarrhea,and gastric retention were recorded.Results On the 7th and 14th days,the serum glutamine levels in groups B and C were (1 886.8 ±420.5),(2 228.6 ±440.2) μg/L;(1 889.6 ± 436.1),(2 174.3 ± 440.8) μg/L,respectively,which were significantly higher than those in group A [(1 612.0 ±493.5),(1 869.7 ±559.8) μg/L] (P =0.027,P =0.008).The serum diamine oxidase levels were also significantly lower in group B [(2 310 ± 1 271),(1 602.5 ± 1 137.9) U/L] and group C [(2 076.3 ±567),(1 586.3 ±530.9) U/L] than in group A [(3 250 ±923),(2 476 ±862) U/L] (P =0.000,P =0.000).The serum TF and PA levels were significantly increased on the 7th day (P =0.023,P =0.047),and the HGB was significantly higher on 14th day (P =0.003),The number of patients who had undergone successful implementation of enteral nutrition were 4 and 3 in groups B and C,and the number of patients who had achieved the target volume of enterral nutrition was 25 and 27 in groups B and C,which were significantly larger than those in group A (12 and 13,respectively) (P =0.008,P =0.000).The gastrointestinal complication was also significantly decreased after the administration of enterral nutrition with glutamine.Conclusions Enteral nutrition with glutamine can improve intestinal mueosa barrier and nutritional status in elderly critically ill patients.Thus,it helps to reduce gastrointestinal complications and transition time of total enteral nutrition.

Objective To investigate the role of inflammatory cytokines in the pathogenesis of chronic non-bacterial prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CAP/CPPS) patients. Methods The 38 cases with CAP/CPPS patients (18 cases of CAP and 20 cases of CPPS) and 20 cases of healthy controls were selected. The differential expressions of 40 kinds of inflammatory cytokines were detec-ted by antibody arrays in prostate fluid. Results The inflammatory cytokines which increased more than 1.5 times expression have been found. There were seven kinds in CAP including monocyte che-moattractant protein (MCP)-1, solution tumor necrosis factor receptor Ⅱ(s TNF R Ⅱ), platelet-de-rived growth faetor-BB (PDGF-BB), interleukin (IL)-β, IL-11、IL-6、MCP-2 and five kinds in CPPS groups including MCP-1、PDGF-BB、MCP-2、s TNF R Ⅱ、It-11 respectively, compared with healthy control group. The cluster analysis results showed that protein expression of Monocyte chemoattrac-tant protein 1 (MCP-1)and platelet-derived growth factor BB (PDGF-BB) were significantly increased in CAP (3.47 and 2.07 times) and CPPS (2.25 and 2.19 times) compared with healthy control group and were the final polymerization of inflammatory cytokines. The protein expression of interleukin 1 β (IL-1 β), MCP-1 and soluble tumor necrosis factor Ⅱ (s TNF R Ⅱ) in CAP group was increased more than 1.85,1.55,1.67 times compared with CPPS group. Conclusions Elevated expression of inflammatory cytokines may play an important role in the course of CAP/CPPS disease. The extent of the inflammatory response of CAP was higher than CPPS. The inflammatory factors of MCP-1 and PDGF-BB could serve as a novel diagnostic marker.

BackgroundFlap creation is one of the most important steps during laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK). As the microkeratome blade technology is developing, the accuracy, uniformity and reproducibility of corneal flaps created by the microkeratome blade are of high clinical concern. ObjectiveThe aim of this trial was to compare the features of corneal flaps created using the Moria M2 microkeratome 110 μm-knife with regular blade versus the Med-Logics O blade. MethodsA pilot and prospective study was designed. Two hundred and four eyes of one hundred and two patients were enrolled in this clinical trial. The patients were divided into the Moria M2 microkeratome 110 μm-knife with Med-Logics 0 blade group ( 110-0 group) ( 102 eyes) and Moria M2 microkeratome with 110 μm-knife with regular blade group (110 group) (102 eyes),with the matched demography. Fourier-domain optical coherence tomography ( RTVue OCT) was used to measure flap thickness using 28 settings on the 204 corneas at one week postoperatively. The features of the LASIK flaps were analyzed on the basis of the outcomes. Written informed consent was obtained from each patient prior to LASIK. Results There was no statistically significant difference in uncorrected visual acuity and the mean spherical equivalent between the 110-0 group and 110 group ( Z =-0. 375,P =0. 708 ; u =0. 056, P =0. 956 ) one week after LASIK. The mean flap thickness of the 110-0 group was considerably thinner than that of the 110 group ( 133.28+15.41μ m versus 142.81 ±10. 07μm) ( u =-5. 227,P＜0. 001 ). The corneal flaps in both the 110-0 group and in 110 group showed a meniscus shape. The nasal flap thickness of the right eyes was not evidently different from that of temporal ( P＞0. 05 ) , but in the left eyes, nasal flap thickness was obviously thicker than the temporal flap thickness (P＜0. 05) in both groups. The mean deviation between the achieved and attempted flap thickness ( 130 μm) were (17.46±2.28) μm in the 110-0 group and ( 16. 82±6. 12) μm in the 110 group, showing a significant difference between them ( u ==0. 517, P=0. 608 ).ConclusionsThe shape of flaps created using the Moria M2 110-0 is more uniform and closer to the expected thickness of 130 μm than the ones created using the Moria M2 110 microkeratome.

Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of deep electroacupuncture (EA) at Baliao points in treating stress urinary incontinence (SUI). Methods: A total of 60 female patients with SUI were divided into two groups according to the order of consultation, with 30 cases in each group. The control group was treated with pelvic floor muscle training. The treatment group was treated with deep EA at Baliao points [Shangliao (BL 31), Ciliao (BL 32), Zhongliao (BL 33) and Xialiao (BL 34)]. Results: The total effective rate was 93.3％ in the treatment group, versus 33.3％ in the control group, and the total effective rate of the treatment group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of international consultation on incontinence questionnaire-short form (ICIQ-SF) and the volume of urinary leakage in both groups were lower than those before treatment (all P<0.05), and the ICIQ-SF score and the volume of urinary leakage in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group (both P<0.05). Conclusion: Deep EA at Baliao points with long needles can improve the clinical symptoms in female patients with SUI, and it has a better curative effect than pelvic floor muscle training.

OBJECTIVE: To study the objectivity and reliability of needle electromyography and nerve conduction for detection of musculus extensor digitorum brevis strength, which may provide a basis for establishing a quantitative detection of muscle strength in forensic clinical study. METHODS: Forty-four healthy people were enrolled as the subjects, and during toe dorsiflexion, the following items including needle electromyography indexes, motor unit potential (MUP) amplitude, MUP count, recruitment reaction type, and nerve conduction detection indexes, compound muscle action potential (CMAP) amplitude, CMAP latent period and motor nerve conduction velocity (MNCV), were simultaneously detected under the cooperation and disguise condition. RESULTS: Under the cooperation condition, regardless of the same operator or different operators, there were good test-retest reliabilities in MUP amplitude, CMAP amplitude, CMAP latent period and MNCV, while there were normal test-retest reliabilities in MUP count and recruitment reaction type and the repeatability of the same operator was slightly better than the repeatability between different operators. Under the disguise condition, test-retest reliabilities of MUP amplitude, CMAP amplitude, CMAP latent period and MNCV were relatively high, while test-retest reliabilities of MUP count and recruitment reaction type were relatively low. CONCLUSION There are good test-retest reliabilities in MUP amplitude, CMAP amplitude, CMAP latent period and MNCV, which can be conducive to comparison between different operators and results at various times; MUP count and recruitment reaction type, which can be easily affected by subjectivity of operators and examinees, can be used to differentiate whether an examinee disguises or not. The indexes used to objectively judge muscle strength remain to be further investigated.

Traditional Chinese medicine is a treasure of Chinese culture, absorbing the wisdom of the Chinese people. Continuous application of new technologies makes traditional Chinese medicine research advance with the times. After several years of development, high-throughput transcriptome study has become a mature research tool in biology. This paper reviewed the advances in medicine transcriptome study, and compared two sequencing platforms, Roche's GS FLX platform and Illumina's HiSeq 2000 platform. Moreover, this paper introduced medicine transcriptome analysis process, with Panax quinquefolius and Lonicera japonica for examples, showing the characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine transcriptome studies. High-throughput transcriptome studies facilitate traditional Chinese medicine research with overall understand of functional genes, give clear elucidation of metabolic pathways, lay molecular foundation for the traditional Chinese medicine research and offer modern interpretation for traditional Chinese medicine theory. However, the current study faces several difficulties, including weak molecular basis, high sequencing cost and staff shortages in data anaysis. In the future, with the development in sequencing technology, the combination of transcriptome and other genomics, such as proteome and metabolome, will lay a solid foundation for the new high-throughput screening and developing model for the traditional Chinese medicine industry.
