Aim To observe whether the inhibition of PI3K/PKB signal pathway by LY294002[PI3K pathway inhibitor] could improve the sensitivities of human gastric carcinoma cell line SGC7901 and SGC7901/VCR to anti-cancer drugs. Methods The sensitivities of SGC7901 and SGC7901/VCR to chemotherapeutic drug VCR were detected by MTT.The MDR1 and XIAP mRNA expression levels were evaluated by semi-quantitative RT-PCR,and their protein levels were detected by immunocytochemistry. The PKB and phospho-PKB protein levels were detected by Western blot and the apoptosis ratio was detected by flow cytometry. Results 2?10-5mol?L-1LY294002 enhanced the sensitivities of SGC7901 and SGC7901/VCR cells to VCR(P

Objective To assess the clinical results of antiglide plate in the treatment of the Danis Weber type B aged ankle fracture. Methods Totally 36 aged cases of Danis Weber type B ankle fracture received ORIF (open reduction with internal fixation) with antiglide plate. Their functional results were evaluated according to the ankle scoring system. We also observed the complications, including failure of fixation, infection, wound dehiscence, and need for hardware removal. Results The clinical results were satisfactory, with the excellent and good ratio of ankle score being 91.6%. Conclusion Since the antiglide plate has theoretical advantages over the conventional lateral plate, it is recommendable for stabilization of Danis Weber type B ankle fractures.

Electronic case report forms (eCRFs) instead of the traditional paper case report forms (pCRFs) are increasingly used by investigators and sponsors of clinical research. We include a total of 14 phase III studies (8 pCRF, 6 eCRF) to compare paper and electronic data documentation both quantitatively and qualitatively in clinical studies. The result suggests that adaptions of electronic data capture (EDC) in clinical trials have the advantages in optimization of data capture process, improvement of data quality and earlier clinical decision compared to paper-based methods. Furthermore, the successful implementation of EDC requires accouplements with corresponding data management processes and reallocation of resources.

Due to a great amount of data in clinical trials, the data cleansing needs to adopt a variety of measures, including the latest developed visual check approach. According to the different types of clinical data and the different stages in the course of clinical data management, this study reviews 8 types of visual graphics that show the relevance and trend among the data. The series of graphics can rapidly detect abnormal data, monitor clinical research in real-time, make the data management process much easier and improve the clinical trial efficiency and data quality.

China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2015;40(13):2508-2517
As one of the important active components of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), plant origin active proteins have many significant pharmacological functions. According to researches on the plant origin active proteins reported in recent years, pharmacological effects include anti-tumor, immune regulation, anti-oxidant, anti-pathogeny microorganism, anti-thrombus, as well as hypolipidemic and hypoglycemic activities of plant origin were reviewed, respectively. On the other hand, the analytical methods including chromatography, spectroscopy, electrophoresis and mass spectrometry for plant origin proteins analysis were also summarized. The main purpose of this paper is providing a reference for future development and application of plant active proteins.

Objective To study the adsorption performance of chitosan in printing and dyeing wastewater treatment. Methods The influence factors such as chitosan concentrations(0-500 mg/L),pH value(1-13),temperatures(20-50 ℃)and time(0.5-2.5 h) were considered in the test. Results When the concentration of chitosan was 200 mg/L,pH value was 2-5,time was 0.5 h and at the room temperature, the absorption could show a good result. The deeolorizing rate could reach above 90%.Conclusion The chitosan concentrations,pH value, time and temperature affect the adsorption performance of chitosan in printing and dyeing wastewater treatment.

Objective To explore the diagnostic merits of the average apparent diffusion coefficient(ADCav) for leukoencephalopathy in neonates and children. Methods One hundred and fifty-six neonates and children with central nervous system signs or symptoms were classified into 6 groups according to their ages(1 d-0.05).Contrast to the normal, the ADCav of leukoencephalopathy in neonates and children decreased. With increasing age, there showed a linear downtrend in each group. Conclusions The ADCav rises in neonates and children with leukoencephalopathy. The ADCav variation precedes changes in routine MRI.

AIM To investigate the effect of fenofibrate and simvastatin on the serum free fatty acids of alcoholic fatty liver in rats. METHODS The rat model of alcoholic fatty liver was reproduced by chronic ethanol ingestion plus olive oil diet. The model rats were divided into three groups as follows: finofibrate treatment group(finofibrate 80 mg?kg -1 po, once a day),simvastatin treatment group (simvastatin 4 mg?kg -1 po, once a day)and control group without either above-mentioned treatment. Experimental rats were treated for four weeks and then sacrificed for blood sampling. Serum free fatty acids were analyzed by gas chromatography. RESULTS Fenofibrate significantly ameliorated the decrease in polyunsaturated fatty acids induced by ethanol [oleic acid:(38.212?7.788) ?g?L -1 vs (31.620?6.142) ?g?L -1,linoleic acid:(37.269?8.065) ?g?L -1 vs (30.254?9.063) ?g?L -1,arachidonic acid:(11.646?2.601) ?g?L -1 vs (9.012?1.236) ?g?L -1] accompanied by the improvement of the fat infiltration of the liver, but demonstrated no effect on the increase in serum saturated fatty acids by ethanol. In the contrast, simvastatin can aggravate the decrease in polyunsatrurated fatty acids and significantly increase the levels of satrurated fatty acids in serum induced by ethanol along with the pathological aggravation of alcoholic fatty liver. CONCLUSION The results of present study revealed that fenofibrate and simvastatin exerted different effect on the serum free fatty acids of alcoholic fatty liver. Polyunsatrurated fatty acids in the serum play an important role in the pathogenesis and treatment response of alcoholic fatty liver.

The way of "extracting-salting-chromatography" was used to purify the phycoerythrin and phycocyanin from Porphyra yezoensis in process scale-up.First,by comprehensive comparison of efficiency, the Sephadex G-25 was selected from four resins (Sephadex G-25、G-100、S-300 and CL-6B) as the best choice used in crude extract desalting of phycobiliprotein. Then the preparation process of phycobiliprotein was scaled-up with raw material(Porphyra yezoensis) increased from 1g to 20g,and finally to 400g.The results indicated that the yields of purified phycoerythrin and phycocyanin (absorption spectra purity above 3.2) increased during according to process scale-up,with 0.323% phycoerythrin and 0.148% phycocyanin obtained from 400g frozen Porphyra yezoensis blades respectively. It is no doubt that the process involved in the experiment is a potential way for large scale preparation of phycobiliproteins of high purity.

Objective To optimize the extraction method of salviae miltiorrhizae madix et rhizoma in Huoluo-Xiaoling granules. Methods According to the contents of Salvianolic acid B and Tanshinone Ⅱ A, the extraction method was established by comparing different solvents (water and 70% ethanol)and extracting modes (compound extraction and single herb extraction). Then orthogonal design was used to determine the optimum extraction method. Results Considering the contents of salvianolic acid B and tanshinone Ⅱ A, 70% ethanol extract was better than water extract and compound extraction was better than single herb extraction. The optimum extraction condition was 70% ethanol in eight times of the herbs weight, extracted for 1h by 3times. Conclusion The extraction method was simple and stable.
