Objective To appraise the diagnosis value of pleural membrane biopsy on pleural effussion.Meth- ods 218 patients with pleural effusion who were had pleual menbrane biopsy were retrospectively analyzed.Among them 165 cases were done only once,42 cases were done twice,11 cases were done three times.They were done 271 times of biopsies.Results The pleural membrane biopsy always masculine gender rate was 72.0%,1 pleural mem- brane biopsy succeeds the masculine gender rate was 59.6%,after the masculine gender rate which 2 pleural mem- branes biopsies succeeds was 69.7%.The illness complication formation rate was 8.7%.Conclusion Pleural mem- brane biopsy is a simply,safe and higher diagnosing-rate method.The different spot pleural membrane biopsy may cnhance diagnosis rate.

AlM:To compare the clinical results of different surgical methods for diabetic antipathy.
METHODS: Eighty cases ( 102 eyes ) with diabetic antipathy were selected in our hospital from January 2012 to December 2013. Thirty-eight cases (48 eyes) in group A received joint surgical treatment, 42 cases (54 eyes) in group B took staging of surgical treatment. The clinical effect was observed in both groups.
RESULTS: The vision after surgery was improved than that of before surgery in two groups, there were no significant differences ( P > 0. 05 ). A postoperative complication rate was 16. 7% in group A and 22. 2% in group B, showed no significant difference (P>0. 05).
CONCLUSlON: Surgery and staging joint surgery are both feasible for diabetic retinopathy patients, can, improve the visionr. Both of them are worthy of clinical application.

Objective: To investigate the developmental toxicity of 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene in zebrafish embryos. Methods: AB wild-type male and female zebrafish were selected to mate and spawn, then the eggs were cultured with Holt buffer solution. Six dose groups ( 0.4, 0.8, 1.0, 1.2, 1.6, 2.0 μg/mL ), a solvent control group and a cosolvent control group, were set up with 20 embryos each. Malformations and death of embryos were observed at 48, 72 and 96 hpf ( hours post fertilization ), the mortality and 50% lethal concentration ( LC50 ) were also calculated. Results: At 48, 72 and 96 hpf, the LC50 of 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene on zebrafish embryos were 1.668, 1.043 and 0.895 μg/mL, respectively, with a downward trend. After 72 hpf, when the concentration reached 2.0 μg/mL, all the zebrafish died. In the range of 0.4-2.0 μg/mL, the mortality of zebrafish at 48, 72 and 96 hpf increased with the increase of 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene concentration ( all P<0.05 ); the malformation rate of zebrafish embryos at 48 hpf increased with the increase of 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene concentration ( P<0.05 ). Zebrafish embryos exposed to 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene led to yolk sac edema, pericardial edema and spinal curvature. Conclusion 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene can affect the development of zebrafish embryos, which will lead to lethal and teratogenic effects.

Objective To study the current situation of emergency nurses' structural empowerment,competency,job satisfaction,and their correlative factors.Methods Literature review, interview and questionnaire were used to establish the emergency nurses' structural empowerment and competency model.300emergency nurses were structurally empowered,and their quality of care and job satisfaction was compared before and after.Results The quality of care and job satisfaction after structural empowerment was (98.45 ±1.36) and (98.19 ± 2.63 ),both of which were higher than that before structural empowerment (95.33 ±2.47) and (93.81 ± 4.54),and the differences were statistically significant (t =-4.468,16.136,respectively; P ＜ 0.05).After structural empowerment,there was great improvement in emergency nurses' selfevaluation,as well as their ability of critical thinking,receiving information,communication and health education,while there was little improvement in their ability of social support,logical reasoning and innovation.Conclusions Establishing structural empowerment and competency model for emergency nurses helps them position themselves and promote their development,as well as provides reference to select and train professional nurses for hospitals.

BACKGROUND:Microencapsulated cels are commonly used as a tool to overcome immune rejection after subarachnoid transplantation. However, the effect of microencapsulation on the secretion of human pheochromocytoma cels is unclear.
OBJECTIVE:To observe the growth and secretion of primarily microencapsulated cultured human pheochromocytoma cels in artificial cerebrospinal fluid.
METHODS: The human pheochromocytoma tissues were digested successively to isolate human pheochromocytoma cels that were then cultured in artificial cerebrospinal fluid. Primary cels were covered with alginate-polylysine-alginate microcapsules, and then the cel morphology was observed with inverted phase contrast microscope. Levels of met-enkephalin and norepinephrine in cel culture medium were detected by enzyme-labeled immunosorbent assay (ELISA). We used cel counting kit-8 colorimetric assay to obtain the growth curve of human pheochromocytoma cels in artificial cerebrospinal fluid.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Microcapsulated human pheochromocytoma cels were in suspension and the process outgrowth increased slowly. Compared with non-microcapsulated cels, the proliferation rate of microcapsulated cels increased significantly. ELISA results revealed a significant increase in the levels of met-enkephalin and norepinephrine secreted from the microencapsulated cels compared to the non-microcapsule group. There was a wide variation in contents of met-enkephalin and norepinephrine from different tumors. These findings indicate that microencapsulated human pheochromocytoma cels can survive wel and have good secretion function in artificial cerebrospinal fluid, and human pheochromocytoma cels from different tumor tissues have stable secretory function.

Objectives To investigate the relationship of sex difference with serum bisphenol-A (BP-A),adiponectin and metabolic syndrome (MetS)in elderly patients with isolated systolic hypertension(EISH).Methods A retrospective study of the clinical data was conducted in 540 subjects from the Cardiology and Geriatric Department in the Affiliated Hospital of Shanxi Medical University,Changzhi Municipal People,s Hospital and the Department of Cardiology of Shanxi Medical University,First Clinic Hospital from January 2010 to December 2013.Elderly patients with EISH were divided into male group(n=270)and female group(n=270).Meanwhile 560 older health persons were severed as controls,including 300 females and 260 males.The changes of BP-A and adiponectin (Ad) concentration were measured.The blood lipid,insulin resistance index (HOMA-IR),blood pressure,body mass index,heart rate variability and ultrasonic change of heart and blood vessel were tested regularly.Results The level of serum BP-A[(0.89±0.10)ng/L vs.(0.57±0.04)ng/L]and [(0.64±0.10)ng/L vs.(0.55 ± 0.08)ng/L] were higher in male EISH vs in male control,and in female EISH than in female control (F =23.76,23.86,all P ＜ 0.01),respectively.The levels of adiponectin were lower in male EISH vs control[(4.9±1.4)ng/L vs.(10.5±2.7)ng/L and in female EISH vs control(6.0±1.3) ng/L vs.(11.5±3.3)ng/L),F=13.10,16.20,all P＜0.01.Root mean sequare of the successive normal sinus RR interval difference(rMSSD)were lower in male/ female EISH than control groups(F=13.10、13.70,P ＜0.01).Serum BP-A level was positively correlated with the bocly mass index and systolic pressure (r =0.38,0.54,P ＜ 0.01),and was negatively correlated with serum Ad and rMSSD(r=-0.46,-0.42,P＜0.01).Conclusions Obvious gender difference in changes of serum BP-A exists in older patients with EISH.Network cytokines may take part in the pathophysiological process of the obesity related hypertension.

Maple syrup urine disease is a common amino acids metabolic disease. In most patients, onset occurs in the neonatal period and infancy. In this study, the case of a school boy with acute encephalopathy due to late-onset maple syrup urine disease is summarized. The boy (8.5 years) was admitted because of acute encephalopathy after suffering from infection for two days at the age of eight and a half years. Metabolic acidosis, hyperuricemia and decreased protein level in cerebrospinal fluid were found by general laboratory tests. Magnetic resonance imaging of the brain revealed signal intensity abnormalities in the bilateral cerebellum dentate nucleus, brainstem, thalamus, putamen, caudate nucleus and cortex of the cerebral hemispheres. On T1WI and T2WI scanning, hyperintensive signal was found. Blood leucine and valine were significantly elevated. Urinary 2-hydroxy isovaleric acid, 3-hydroxybutyric acid, 2-keto isovaleric acid, and 2-keto acid also increased. Both the blood amino acid and urine organic acid profiles led to the diagnosis of maple syrup urine disease. In the acute period, the patient was treated with a large dose of vitamin B1, glucose, L-carnitine and a protein-restrict diet. The patient's condition improved significantly after five days of treatment, and he recovered completely two days later. Afterwards, treatment with vitamin B1, L-carnitine and a protein-restrict diet (1 g/kg/day) was continued. One and a half months later, blood amino acids and urine organic acids returned to normal. Magnetic resonance imaging of the brain also indicated a great improvement. It was concluded that inborn metabolic disease should be considered in the patients with an onset similar to acute encephalopathy. Early diagnosis and proper treatment can prevent brain damage and improve prognosis.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the effect of verapamil on the proliferation of normal gingival fibroblast (NGF) in vitro.

METHODSNGF was isolated and cultured. The 5th passage of NGF was incubated with 0, 0.1, 1, 10, 100 micromol/L verapamil respectively. Methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium (MTT) assay and flow cytometry were used to detect cell proliferation and cell cycles.

RESULTSIncubated with 100 micromol/L verapamil for 66 h, the A value of normal gingival fibroblast was significantly lower than those without verapamil groups (P < 0.01). Incubated with 100 micromol/L verapamil for 18 h, 69% of cells were at the G(0) - G(1) phase, 27% were at the S phase. For control group (without verapamil) 41% of cells were at G(0) - G(1) phase and 49% cells were at S phase. There was significant difference between the two groups (P < 0.001).

CONCLUSIONS100 micromol/L verapamil inhibited proliferation of normal gingival fibroblast by a cell-cycle arrest.
