3.Effects of nanoparticles to bone cells and potential applications in orthopedics
International Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2013;36(4):235-238
Biomaterials are commonly applied in regenerative therapy and tissue engineering in bone.Generally, nanoparticles interact distinctively with bone cells and tissue, depending on their com-position,size,and shape. Therefore, detailed analyses of nanoparticle effects on cellular functions have been performed to select the most suitable candidates for supporting bone regeneration. This review will highlight potential nanoparticle applications in bone.We found that mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) display exceptional regenerative potential. The delivery of genetic material with nanoparticulate carriers offers the possibility of overcoming certain disadvantages of standard protein delivery approaches. Moreover, nanoparticles are already clinically applied in cancer treatment. Thus, corresponding efforts could lead to new therapeutic strategies to improve bone regeneration or to treat bone disorders.

Objective To validate scientificalness, practicability and useful values in medical care of Zhang-Lu index(ZLI).Me-(thods) ZLI=weight(g)+250/height(cm)?head circumference(cm)?2 was computed and compared with the conventional body weight for gestational age based data of body height, body weight and head circumference measured from 858 neonates in Benxi. Results The ZLI of the first 3 days of fullterm appropriate for gestational age(AGA) was higher than reference from national neonatal physical growth science research association. The difference was significantly(P
5.Case reports of two children with neurofibromatosis type 1
China Tropical Medicine 2023;23(6):672-
Abstract: Objective To report the clinical characteristics and genetic test results of two children with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1), and to provide reference for the comprehensive diagnosis-treatment and follow-up plans of NF1 patients based on the existing diagnosis and treatment progress of NF1. Methods Two children with NF1 admitted to the Department of Children's Medicine, Haikou people's Hospital in May and June 2022 were selected to analyze the clinical data of their clinical manifestations, laboratory examination, genetic test results, diagnosis and treatment and follow-up retrospectively. Results Two children had typical clinical manifestations, such as café-au-lait spots, axillary freckles, intraocular iris hamartoma. Venous blood was collected from case 1 and his parents for NF gene test, and a new mutation of c.4084C>T in the NF1 gene was found, and their parents did not have the pathogenic gene; the venous blood of the children in case 2 was tested for whole-exome gene analysis, and a heterozygous nonsense variant c.910C>T:p.R304 on the NF1 gene was found, , which was verified by Sanger sequencing to be inherited from his mother, his mother has café-au-lait spots and brain glioma, and has undergone surgery to remove the brain glioma, but has not undergone chemoradiotherapy or targeted therapy. No neurological malignancies were detected in either of the two children at follow-up until July 2022. Conclusions The clinical manifestations of NF1 are relatively typical, genetic testing is conducive to determine its classification, and regular follow-up review can help to detect and treat malignant tumors early, thus improving the patient's quality of life.

International Eye Science 2005;5(6):1110-1113
AIM: Using functional magnetic resonance imaging, to inspect v sual cortex physical reactions stimulated by rotating grating, and to its components. METHODS: On 1.5T MR scanner, GRE-EPI imaging sequence was carried on 9 h discover ealthy volunteers, the visual cortex response data were processed after delinearation by SPM99.RESULTS: Different components of rotating grating excited different areas of the visual cortex. Dramatic response in the central part of the occipital lobe, which was related to white light stimuli, located at primary visual cortex. Response area in bilateral Broadaman 19 areas was related to vision-motion function. And weak response area in the central part of the occipital lobe was related to shape perception.CONCLUSION: Rotating grating conclude plenty of visual information, and it excites different areas of the optic center as a stimuli. fMRI is a valuable equipment to study the physiology of visual cortex.

Objective To study the countermeasures for preventing medical disputes-induced group events by ana-lyzing the related papers. Methods Distributions of publication years, institutions of authors, and subjects in pa-pers on medical disputes-induced group events in 2006-2013 covered in Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform and CNKI were analyzed by bibliometrics. Results A total of 676 papers on medical disputes-induced group events were published in 2006-2013 .Their authors were mainly from medical educational institutions or medical and health institutions. The number of papers on medical tangles, relation between physicians and patients, legal con-struction, reasons for medical disputes was significantly larger than that of those on the third partymechanism and medical liability insurance .Conclusion Certain advances have been achieved in study on medical disputes-induced group events. However, there is a room for their improvement, further studies are thus needed.

Chinese Journal of Radiology 2009;43(4):397-401
Objective To assess the feasibility of intestitial MR lymphangiography (MRL) with subcutaneous injection of a commercially available,non-ionic,extracellular paramagnetic contrast agent,to visualize lymphatic vessels in patients with primary lymphedema. Methods Forty lower extremities in 31 patients with clinically advanced stages of primary lymphedema were examined with magnetic resonance lymphangiography.A 1 ml mixed liquor of gadobenate dimeglumine and mepivacainhydrochloride were injected subcutaneously into the dorsal aspect of both feet For MRL,a 3D fast spoiled gradient-recalled echo T1-weighted images with a fat saturation technique (T1 high resolution isotropic volume excitation,THRIVE) were performed after subcutaneous application of the contrast material To outline lymphatic vessels, source images were used to reconstruct images of MIP.The SNR and CNR of enhanced lymphatic vessels and veins were measured and calculated respectively. The significance of the differences of the data comparisons was assessed using an unpaired student t teat. Results Of the 40 lower extremities, the beaded appearance of dilated lymphatic vessels was detected in 36 lower legs (90.0%) and 17 upper legs (42.5%).The numbers of the dilated lymphatic vessels displayed in all segments of lower extremities added up to 365 and its mean diameter was (3.4 ± 0.1) mm on MRL MIP image. The average SNR and CNR were 257 ±130,207 ± 113 in the dilated lymphatic vessels and 218 ± 129,152 ± 113 in the vein respectively, which was statistically significant (SNR t = -2.649,CNR t = -3.404,P <0.01).Contrast enhancement was observed in 30/40 inguinal lymph node groups (75.0%).In 26 lower extremities (65.0%) collateral vessels with dermal back-flow areas between lymphatic vessels were seen. Conclusions As a novel tool to image the pathologically modified lymphatic vessels in patients with clinically advanced stage of primary lymphedema, magnetic resonance lymphangiography is a safe, useful technique.

Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 1981;0(04):-
Objective To investigate the occurrence of p16 gene methylation in the population chronically exposed to arsenic in Inner Mongolia, and to study the molecular mechanisms of carcinogenesis associated with arsenic exposure. Methods The study group was composed of 40 cases of typical arseniasis selected from the epidemic area, and the two control groups consisting respectively of 40 non-arseniasis cases selected from the same epidemic area, and 40 healthy persons enrolled from non-epidemic area.Methylation of p16 gene in the blood specimens were analyzed for all the subjects with MS-PCR techniques, and statistical analysis was performed using chi square test. Results The positive rates of p16 hypermethylation in blood specimens were 65.0%,47.5% and 20.0% respectively in study group and two control groups, and the rate of hypermethylation increased with the increase in arsenic exposure with drinking water in epidemic areas. The positive rate of p16 hypermethylation showed significant differences(P
