Objective The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation of high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP) and fibrinogen with carotid artery arteriosclerosis of patients with cerebral infarction. Methods One hundred and thirteen patients with cerebral infarction were assigned as study group, and 102 healthy persons as control group. The levels of serum hsCRP and Fib in the two groups were measured. The carotid artery arteriosclerosis and carotid intimal-medial thickness (IMT) were examined by color Doppler and B-ultrasound. Results The value of IMT between study group and control group was statistically significant. The positive rates of carotid artery arteriosclerosis plaque and vulnerable plaque in study group were significantly higher than those in control group (all<0.05) . The level of serum hsCRP was significantly higher in study group than that of control ( <0.05) . The level of serum Fib between study group and control group was not statistically significant ( >0.05) . Conclusion The level of hsCRP was closely related to the degree of carotid artery arteriosclerosis and the occurrence and development of cerebral infarction. But the level of Fib was not closely related to the degree of carotid artery arteriosclerosis.

Objective To explore the effects of intra-jugular vein dual lumen catheter lock heparin in different concentrations on the coagulation function, hemorrhagic tendency and catheter thrombosis risk in hemodialysis patients, and to investigate the reasonable lock heparin cuncentration. Method Ninety end stage renal disease (ESRD)patients receiving regular hemodialysis were enrolled and randomly assigned into 3 groups(n=30):Group A(pure heparin lock solution,6250 U/m1),GrouP B(medium heparin lock solution,1040 U/ml)and Group C(low hepafin lock solution,625 U/ml).The coagulation indexes were determined in short term.Complications such as bleeding, thrombosis, infection and thrombocytopenia were monitored. Results Prothrombin time(PT),actiwtted partial thromboplastin time(APTT)and thrombin time (TT)were significantly prolonged in Group A(P<0.01);only APTT was signifieanlly prolonged in Group B:however,no significant changes were observed in Group C.Hemorrhage risk was much higher in Group A than that in Group B and C (26.7%vs 10%and 0.P<0.05).Catheter thrombosis incidence was significantly higher in Group C than that in Group A and B(23.3%vs 0and 10%,P<0.05).Only 1 suspected catheter related infection was found in Group C,and 2cases of moderated thrombocytopenia in Group A. Concltrsion Moderate concentration of lock heparin solution has the best balance of hemorrhagic and thrombotic risk, and should be recommended to most of regular hemodialysis patients.

AlM: To monitor long - term changes of matrix metalloproteinase-2 ( MMP-2 ) in human tears fluid after laser in situ keratomileusis ( LASlK) .
METHODS: Thirty - two myopia cases ( 64 eyes ) underwent uneventful LASlK were enrolled in the study. Tear fluid were collected and MMP-2 expression was analyzed by Western - bolt assay preoperatively and postoperatively on 15d, at 1, 3mo, and 1a.
RESULTS:LASlK increased the concentration of MMP-2 in human tear fluid. At 15d postoperatively, the magnitude of MMP-2 was 1. 4 times that of preoperative, thereafter subsided, but didn't return to preoperative level by 3mo ( P < 0. 05 ). Up to 1a after surgery, the concentration of MMP-2 almost recovered (P>0. 05).
CONCLUSlON: MMP- 2 is significantly expressed in human tear fluid after LASlK, then subsided with time, but didn't return to preoperative level by 3mo and almost recovered up to 1a, indicating wound healing of LASlK would continue up at least 3mo after surgery and almost recovered 1a postoperatively.
4.Research advances on relationship between suppressor of cytokine signaling 3 and myeloproliferative neoplasms.
Journal of Experimental Hematology 2010;18(4):1101-1104
Suppressor of cytokine signaling (SOCS) is a protein family negatively regulating signal transduction pathway of a certain class of cytokines and growth factors. More than 20 members have been found in SOCS family, SOCS3 is one of them and has been studied hottest and most clearly. Recent studies demonstrated that SOCS3 abnormalities were found in patients with myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN), suggesting that SOCS3 plays a significant role in the pathogenesis, development and metastasis in MPN. In this review, the advances of research on relationship between SOCS3 and MPN were summarized, including general profile of SOCS family; structure, function and regulation of SOCS3, relation of SOCS3 to MPN and so on.

OBJECTIVE To explore the correlation between hands pollution and nosocomial infection, and to raise measures to keep hand hygiene.METHODS To evaluate the condition of hand pollution and hand washing, the relationship between hands pollution and nosocomial infection, and measures to improve hand hygiene.RESULTS Most nosocomial infections were transmitted by the hands pollution, bacteria of which were thought to be the main microbial population of nosocomial infection.Handwashing was considered to be the most important intervention to prevent nosocomial infections. However, the present studies indicated that there was not enough handwashing practice among the medical personnel, lacking the consciousness of the importance of hand cleaning, misunderstanding the standard hand cleaning steps, like the length of washing time and the choose of hand disinfectant, and inadequately providing the hospital condition for cleaning work, all these played an important role in declining the efficiency of hand disinfection in hospital.Medical workers could achieve their goal through the improving of the above aspects of work.CONCLUSIONS Hands pollution is closely related to nosocomial infection.Handwashing can reduce nosocomial infections.

Objective To assess left ventricular (LV) global systolic function in patients with essential hypertension with normal geometric LV by 3-dimensional ultrasound speckle tracking imaging(3D-STI). Methods Fifty patients with essential hypertension were enrolled in this study, 29 normal subjects matched with age and sex were selected as control groups. LV global longitudinal peak systolic strain (GLS), radial peak systolic strain (GRS), circumferential peak systolic strain (GCS), LV global 3-dimentional radial peak systolic strain (3DGRS) were measured in all subjects by 3D-STI from the apical full-volume image and compared between groups. LV ejection fraction (LVEF) was acquired from 3D-STI.Results Compared with controls, LV GLS, GRS, GCS and 3DGRS were significantly reduced in patients with hypertension ( P < 0.05 for all). A Pearson correlate revealed that LV GCS, GLS and GRS corresponded with LVEF( r1 =0.930, P1 <0.001; r2 = 0.705, P2 <0.001; r3 =0.474, P3 =0.001,respectively) in patients with hypertension, and LV GCS, GLS correlated with LVEF( r1 = 0. 838, P1 <0. 001; r2 = 0. 697, P2 < 0. 001, respectively) in normal subjects. Conclusions LV global 3D strain decreases in patients with hypertension in the early period,3D-STI could evaluate the early change of heart function in patients with hypertension. LV circumferential movement plays a major role in the LV 3D movement and impacts on LVEF.

Objective:To compare the clinical effect of 0.02% atropine eye drops once every two days and 0.01% atropine eye drops once every day in myopia control and adverse reactions in children. Methods:A randomized controlled study was performed. The 231 Han nationality myopic children wearing full-corrected single-vision spectacle lenses enrolled from June 2016 to June 2017 in The First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University and Henan Eye Hospital were divided into two groups by random number table, with 110 children in the 0.02% atropine group and 121 children in the 0.01% atropine group. The subjects were treated with 0.02% atropine eye drops once every two days or 0.01% atropine eye drops once every day to each eye before bedtime for one year.Ninety-two cases and 101 cases were followed up for one year in the 0.02% and 0.01% atropine group, respectively. The right eyes were selected as experimental eyes, and the spherical equivalent refraction (SER), axial length (AL), amplitude of accommodation (AMP), pupil diameter (PD), anterior chamber depth (ACD), and corneal curvature were recorded at baseline and 12 months after treatment.Discomfort symptoms were also observed during the 1-year follow-up.The study protocol was approved by an Ethics Committee of The First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University (No.2016-35). Written informed consent was obtained from guardians prior to any treatment. Results:After 1 year of treatment, the mean SER change was (-0.46±0.49)D and (-0.48±0.46)D, and the mean AL change was (0.38±0.21)mm and (0.39±0.19)mm, and the mean AMP change was (-1.49±0.29)D and (-1.61±0.26)D, and the mean PD change was (0.72±0.44)mm and (0.70±0.40)mm in the 0.02% atropine group and 0.01% atropine group, respectively. There was no significant difference in the change of SER, AL, AMP, PD between the two groups (all at P>0.05). There were 21 cases (19.1%) in the 0.02% atropine group and 25 cases (20.7%) in the 0.01% atropine group that represented mild photophobia in bright sunlight, which disappeared in 12 and 13 cases during 1-6 months respectively. The photophobia symptoms of the remaining children were alleviated. There existed 5 cases (4.5%) and 6 cases (5.0%) in the two groups that developed mild near blurred vision that lasted no more than 1 month. Conclusions:Compared with 0.01% atropine eye drops once a day, 0.02% atropine once every two days has the same efficacy on controlling myopia progression in children with no more adverse reactions.
