Objective To explore causes of fever in patients after the surgery for congenital heart disease(CHD), and put forward corresponding prevention and control measures.Methods Clinical data of patients undergoing sur-gery for CHD in the department of pediatric surgery of a hospital between January and May 2013 were analyzed ret-rospectively,the whole process of operation and postoperative nursing were observed,environmental hygiene moni-toring was performed at the same time.Results 26 patients all had fever after operation,fever in 21 cases (80.77%)was caused by non-infectious factors,5(19.23%)by infectious factors (ventilator-associated pneumonia in 4 cases,type I incision infection in 1 case).6 cases were absorption fever,20 were abnormal fever,difference in patients’age,duration of invasive manipulation (ventilator,urinary catheter,gastric tube)between two groups of patients were all statistically significant (all P <0.05),patients in the absorption fever group were with older age and short invasive manipulation time.Bacteriological detection rate in 26 patients was 76.92% (n=20),a total of 58 specimens were detected,7 were positive (from sputum specimens of 4 patients),5 isolates (71 .43%)were Pseudomonas aeruginosa .A total of 52 environmental specimens were collected for detection,the qualified rate was 80.77% (n =42).Conclusion Non-infectious factors are the main causes of postoperative fever in patients with CHD,health care workers should enhance the awareness of sterilization,standardize all kinds of medical manipula-tion,and reduce postoperative fever.

Intraocular lens ( IOL) implantation is the major method to replace the cataract lens. How to improve the biocompatibility of IOL has been the focus of current research. Major reactions after the IOL implantation include endophthalmitis, corneal endothelial edema, iritis, uveitis, and posterior capsule opacification, etc. At cellular level, macrophages, monocytes, fibroblasts and lens epithelial cells can be detected on the surface of IOL. Their adhesion, proliferation migration, and transformation may be induced by the operation related cytokines released into the aqueous humor. Detailed analysis of cytokines profile after IOL implantation may be beneficial to explore the mechanism of posterior capsule opacification.

AIM: To explore the mechanism of the therapeutic effect of hypobaric hypoxia on allergic asthmas guinea pigs. METHODS：After the model of asthma was established with ovalbumin(OA) challenge in OA sensitized guinea pigs, the animals were randomized into the asthmas group(AG), the alleviative group(ALG) and hypobaric hypoxia treated group(HHTG). The levels of plasma cortisol and endothelin(ET), ET in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid(BALF) were determined by radioimmunoassay. The pulmonary pathological changes were observed with optical microscope. RESULTS:(1) Infiltration of eosinophils (EOS) in alveolar septum was found in AG and ALG, while it was reduced in HHTG. (2) The level of plasma cortisol was significantly higher in AG than in normal control group(NCG) (P＜0.01).But it was significantly lower in ALG than in NCG(P＜0.01), there was no difference in plasma cortisol level between HHTG and NCG. (3) The content of ET in plasma was significantly higher in ALG than that in NCG, AG and HHTG(P＜0.01), and ET level in BALF was significantly higher in AG than that in NCG, ALG and HHTG(P＜0.05),however, no significant difference was found among the latter three groups, respectively. CONCLUSION: After the treatment with hypobaric hypoxia, the ET levels of the plasma and BALF were decreaced and the content of plasma cortisol was increaced, and infiltration of EOS in alveolar septum was decreaced in asthmatic guinea pigs.That may be one of the mechanisms by which hypobavic hypoxia prevents and cures asthma.

In recent years,the research of non-contact biomedical monitoring has continuous development and progress.This review gives an overview of the research status of heart,lung and brain non-contact monitoring methods.The correlation techniques of capacitance electrocardiogram,magnetic induction,radar non-contact monitoring of heart and lung,and non-contact monitoring of brain are analyzed comprehensively.Capacitance electrocardiogram monitors the heart and lung activities useing effect of change in capacitance between the electrodes.Magnetic induction monitors the heart and lung activities useing the Maxwell principle,while radar monitoring the heart and lung activities uses the Doppler effects.Non-contact monitoring of brain adopts the magnetic induction tomography imaging technology.Then elaborate related research at home and abroad,and summarize the advantages and disadvantages of these monitoring methods on the basis of the analysis of monitoring principles.Finally foreground that may dominate this area of new equipment for heart,lung and brain non-contact monitoring in the future is expected.

Objective To study the genetics pattern of bronchial hyperresponsiveness and serum total IgE in asthma pedigree. Methods Twenty-eight asthma families were collected, including 124 individuals, 72 with asthma and 52 without. Forty-five normal subjects of three generations without consanguinity among one another, 22 male and 23 female, were chosen as controls, excluding those with family history of asthma and hypersensitivity. Serum total IgE by ELISA and bronchial hyperresponsiveness (BHR) were detected in asthma pedigree members. Genetics pattern of BHR and serum total IgE was analysed. Results The frequency distribution of BHR was bimodal. Individuals with higher level of total IgE occupied 40 of BHR-affected. Conclusion BHR may be controlled by a single major gene. BHR and total IgE may be under separate genetic control.
