Objective To detect the possibility of brain damage in the epileptic children with single episodes.Methods The serum and cerebrospinal fluid(CSF)levels of neuron-specific enolase(NSE)in 20 cases with single episodes within 24 hours after seizures and 38 cases of controls were determined respectively by electrochemiluminescence,and the levels of S-100? protein(S-100?) and myelin basic protein(MBP)were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.Results The levels of NSE in serum and CSF in epileptic group were(15.01?5.14) ?g/L and(7.84?2.62) ?g/L,respectively,and controls were(10.33?2.48) ?g/L,(3.95?1.58) ?g/L.The levels of S-100? in serum and CSF in epileptic group were(0.39?0.15) ?g/L and(0.59?0.20) ?g/L,respectively,and controls were(0.11?0.05) ?g/L,(0.29?0.19) ?g/L.The levels of MBP in serum and CSF in epileptic group were(0.23?0.09) ?g/L and(0.33?0.07) ?g/L,respectively,and controls were(0.23?0.06) ?g/L,(0.31?0.07) ?g/L.The serum and CSF levels of NSE,S-100? in epileptic group within 24 hours after seizures were significantly higher than those in control group(all P0.05).Conclusions The levels of NSE and S-100? in serum and CSF can reach higher levels within 24 hours after seizures,neuronal damage may result from single episodes.

Purpose:To evaluate the clinical effect of late-course hyperfractionated (LCH) radiotherapy and conventionally fractionated (CF) radiotherapy for local advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Methods:From August 1995 to April 1998, 74 patients with inoperable stage Ⅲ NSCLC were randomized into two groups: CF and LCH. 37 patients in CF group received a fraction of 2 Gy daily, 5 days per week, to the total dose of 65～70 Gy /6.5～7 weeks. 37 patients in LCH group were treated with the same fractionation as CF group to the dose of 40 Gy, and then followed by LCH radiotherapy: 1.2Gy, twice daily, with the interval of 6 hours between fractions, to the total dose of 64 Gy/6 weeks. Objective To investigate the effect of stellate ganglion block ~SGB) on formalin-induced nociceptive behavior of rabbits, the expression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor ~BDNF) of dorsal root ganglia ~DRG) and the concentration of serum interleukin-8 ~IL-8) in rabbits. Methods Twenty-four rabbits were used in this study. Catheters were inserted closely to right stellate ganglia of the animals, which were randomly divided into control group ~A), SGB group ~B) and pain model group ~C). Group B and C were administered with an injection of 0.5ml of 3% formalin into the right front paw subcutaneously, group A 0.5ml saline by the same way. 0.5ml of (0.25)% bupivacaine was administered via the catheter in group B at 10 minutes before injection, while group A and C were given 0.5ml of saline at the same time. Nociceptive behavior was observed for 60 minutes after injection, and assessed by weighted pain score. Serum IL-8 was measured radioimmunologically at 10 minutes ~T_0) before injection, 10 ~T_1), 60 ~T_2) and 120 minutes ~T_3) after injection. The expression of BDNF in the right DRG of cervical 7, 8 and thoracic 1 was investigated immunohistochemically at 120 minutes after injection. Results Formalin-induced nociceptive behavior in phase Ⅱ was relieved following SGB. Objective To investigate the application of ultrasound visualization in instantly evaluation and supplement therapeu-tics in the treatment of uterine fibroids and adenomyosis with high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU ) .Methods 57 patients with 67 uterine fibroids and 31 patients with 41 adenomyosis were treated with JC-200 HIFU treatment system and monitored the blood flow change in the lesion with B-ultrasound .Evaluated the curative effect with ablation ratio and ablation ratio after supplement therapeutics .Results The average ablation ratio of 57 uterine fibroids was(84 .6 ± 16 .1)% and the increased to(87 .0 ± 10 .7)% af-ter supplement therapeutics to 9 lesions with blood flow in the border of all .The changes were no significance(P>0 .05) .The aver-age ablation ratio of 31 adenomyosis was(62 ± 22 .7)% and increased to(74 ± 14 .7)% after supplement therapeutics to 11 lesions with blood flow in the border of all .The changes were statically significance(P<0 .05) .Conclusion Ultrasound visualization could be used to evaluate the area and extent of ablation with HIFU therapy ,it can clear lesions remaining parts and guiding the supple-ment therapeutics to improve the ablation ratio .Ultrasound visualization provided an evidence of therapeutics in the early period .

Objective To study the effect of glucocorticoid on serum interleukin(IL)-1,IL-6,transforming growth factor-?_1(TGF-?_1) and tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNF-?) in children with primary nephrotic syndrome(PNS).Methods The levels of cytokines on serum were compared in 3 different patho-type,and IL-1,IL-6,TGF-?_1 and TNF-? in serum were detected using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) in 25 children with PNS before and after treatment with glucocorticoids.Results Significant difference of IL-1,IL-6,TGF-?_1 and TNF-? were found between the two group before and after the treatment(P0.05).The level of TGF-?_1 in MCD was lo-wer than that in MsPNG,FSGS before and after the treatment(P0.05),and the level of it in FSGS was higher than that in MsPNG after the treatment(P

In cardiac myocytes, Ca2+ sparks origining from a single RyR or a few RyRs are triggered by a single L-type Ca2+ channel or occur spontaneously. Ca2+ sparks constitute the elementary local Ca 2+ release events from the SR. Ca2+ sparks occur at Z-lines and randomly distribute at different locations, the characteristics of the kinetics are regulated by many factors. In addition, ICa.T, Na+/Ca2+ exchange, ICa (TTX) and IP3 are other putative sources of Ca2+ that trigger SR Ca2+ release.
