Objective To study the clinical characteristics by using CT, MRI and biochemistry test on the X linked adrenoleukodystrophy (X ALD) Methods The clinical, neuro imaging and determinations of plasma very long chain fatty acids (VLCFAs) of 12 cases with X ALD were analysed Results The main clinical features consisted of the childhood onset, progressive auditory, visual and/or intelligent impairment, behavioural changes, epileptic seizures and melanodermia. CT or MRI scans demonstrated that the demyelinating lesions were located on the bilateral white matter in occipital, posterior parietal and temporal lobes. The levels of hexacosanoic acid (C 26:0 ) and the ratio of C 26:0 to docosanoic acid (C 22:0 ) were increased. Conclusions ALD is an inherited disease as an X linked trait. The childhood X ALD is characteristiced by progressive auditory, visual and intelligent deterioration. The abnormalities of CT or MRI scan and the levels of the plasma VLCFAs are crucial to the diagnosis of X ALD.

0.05) while other indicators did not. All the data were simply related to each other. The primary influencing factors to NDS score 1, in decreasing order of impact were volume of infarction, position of infarction, hs-CRP and FBS. While the primary influencing factors to NDS score 3 at the end of 1 month treatment, in decreasing order of impact, were NDS score 1, size of infarction, FG, hs-CRP and TC. Conclusions Volume of infarction and hs-CRP are very important determining factors in both NDS score 1 at the beginning of the treatment and NDS score 3 at the end of 1 month treatment. However, in determining NDS score 3 at the end of 1 month treatment, the impact of FG is greater than hs-CRP. The other influencing factors include FBS, TC and so on. Therefore we conclude that it is helpful to recover from neurologic deficit through lowing these influencing factors directly by medication.

Objective To explore clinical effects of laparoscopy applied in the female patients with infertility. Methods 468 cases of female infertility patients were diagnosed and treated by laparoscopy and 168 cases received follow-up survey. Results Among those infertility patients, the patients of normal pelvic cavity and the abnormal one were 49(10.47% ) and 419( 89.53% ). Among those patients of abnormal pelvic cavity .fallopian tube disease in 276 cases(65.87% ) was at the first place. The constituent ratio of endometriosis, ovary tumor, polycystic ovary, uterine myoma, female genital tract malformation and pelvic tuberculosis was 14. 80% ,5. 97% ,4. 30% ,3. 82% , 3. 34% and 1.91% .respectively. The patients of primary infertility and the secondary ones were 208 and 260 cases. In secondary infertility patients 69.23% (180/260) of patients were caused due to fallopian tube diseases, and the constituent ratio was higher than that in primary infertility 46.15% (96/208) (x2 = 14.05 ,P <0.05),while in primary infertility, the constituent ratio of endometriosis and normal pelvic cavity were 20.19% ,15.38% ,which were higher than that in secondary infertility respectively(x2 = 11. 78,11. 16, all P < 0.05). The pregnancy rate of 168 cases followed-up was 45.24% (76/168).47.37% ,84.21% pregnancy occurred within 6,12 months with laparoscopy. The shortest and longest time of pregnancy was 2 and 30 months, respectively. The median was 8months. Conclusion Laparoscopy playd an important role in diagnosis of infertility and improvement of pregnancy rate.

Objective To construct a genetically-stable double auxotrophic,in which the uracil and leucine were mutated, using the Candida parapolymorpha ATCC26012 as materials. Methods Based on the physical and genetic engineering methods, the chromosome of the C.parapolymorpha strain was modified, where the ura3 and leu2 genes were directly mutated,to obtain the uracil and leucine double auxotrophic strain. Then the constructed strain was identified by the analysis of its biological properties, such as genetic stability, the change of the genes, and the physiologic and biochemical characteristics. Results The uracil and leucine double auxotrophic strain is obtained by screening. The biological identification results show that the obtained strain is genetically stable and the targeted genes are directly altered. In addition, the physiologic and biochemical analyses indicate that the auxotrophic can utilize various kinds of carbon and nitrogen nutrient sources, and its growth is good. Conclusion The successful construction of double auxotrophic mutant strains facilitated the genetic studies on C.parapolymorpha to meet various investigational purposes. Moreover, the constructed auxotrophic strains can be applied as advantageous host cells to express multiple proteins/antigens simultaneously, which is of great significance in the development of vaccines.

Objective To summarize the nursing methods for patients with chronic congestive heart failure treated with local renal nerve block. Methods 10 cases of patients with chronic congestive heart failure were treated with renal nerve block. The blood and urine electrolytes, plasma neuroendocrine hor-mones, the 24-hour urine volume were measured before and after the renal nerve block to calculate the rate of excretion of urinary sodium. The changes of the heart rate and blood pressure and the improvement of the dyspnoea, swelling and other symptoms of heart failure were monitored continuously before and after the re-nal nerve block. Results There was a significant increase in the 24-hour urine volume and the rate of excretion of urinary sodium in the patients with heart failure after the renal nerve block (P<0.05),and there was a significant decrease in the amount of plasma neuroendocrine hormones after the renal nerve block (P<0.01);there was no signifieant changes in the heart rate and the average blood pressure with improvement of dyspnoea, swelling and other symptoms of heart failure. No significant complications were found. Conclusions The nursing measures taken by the nurses in the clinical application of local renal nerve block as a new treatment modality to the treatment of patients with chronic congestive heart failure are safe, effective and feasible.
