This study is to observe the inhibition of etoposide on allergic contact dermatitis (ACD) and explore its possible mechanism of action. Dinitrofluorobenzene was used to induce the allergic contact dermatitis in mouse ear. Three groups of animals were orally administrated with different doses of VP-16 (5, 10, and 20 mg x kg(-1)), separately, for six days. The degree of skin inflammatory reaction was observed by optical microscope. Expression of intercellular adhesion molecule (ICAM-1) was detected by immunohistochemical staining. Radioimmunoassay was applied to measure the serum level of tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) and interleukin-10 (IL-10). VP-16 significantly decreased inflammatory cell infiltration and the degree of infiltration reaction, and decreased the level of TNF-a in serum and the expression of ICAM-l in skin. VP-16 can significantly inhibit allergic contact dermatitis induced by DNFB. This therapeutic effect of VP-16 on murine ACD may be due to inhibiting expression of some cytokines.

Objective: To analyze the prevalence and related factors of suicide ideation among nurses in different levels of hospitals in Shandong Province, and to analyze the relationship between them. Methods: From June to July 2020, 1644 nurses in Shandong Province were surveyed by multi-stage stratified cluster sampling. The suicidal ideation of nurses was investigated by suicidal ideation screening. Social support and mental health were measured by the perceived social support scale (pass) and kessler10 scale respectively. The simple coping style scale (SCSQ) was used to evaluate the coping styles of the subjects when they encountered problems. Logistic regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of suicidal ideation, Amos software was used to establish the path model of suicidal ideation related factors, and the maximum likelihood estimation was used to test the path model coefficient. Results: The incidence of suicidal ideation among nurses in secondary hospitals during their career was 8.44%, and that in tertiary hospitals was 11.66%. There was no significant difference in suicidal ideation among nurses at all levels in secondary hospitals (P>0.05) . The main factors related to suicidal ideation were unmarried and others (OR=0.362, 95%CI=0.155, 0.844, P=0.019) , social support (OR=1.084, 95% CI=1.059, 1.109, P=0.000) and mental health status (OR=0.921, 95% CI=0.890, 0.953, P=0.000) . The suicide ideation of skilled nurses in tertiary hospitals was higher than that of other levels (P<0.05) . The related factors of suicide ideation mainly included unmarried and others (OR=0.369, 95% CI=0.214, 0.636, P=0.000) , night shift (OR=1.889, 95%CI=10.57, 3.377, P=0.032) , general self-rated social status (OR=2.377, 95%CI=1.031, 5.483, P=0.042) , physical disease (OR=2.747, 95%CI=1.601, 4.714) , P=0.000) , Social support (OR=0.960, 95%CI=1.042, 1.077, P=0.000) and mental health status (OR=0.942, 95%CI=0.922, 0.963, P=0.000) . Social support and mental health have a direct effect on suicidal ideation. Self-assessment of social status, social support and physical disease can affect suicidal ideation by affecting mental health. Conclusion: It is necessary to pay more attention to the mental health status of nurses at different levels in different hospitals during their career, improve their social support level, and improve their cognition of the practice environment.

Chinese Journal of Traumatology 2014;17(4):198-203
OBJECTIVETo evaluate whether the self-blood has influence on the molding process of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) bone cement, and to make sure whether it is valuable for the clinical practice.
METHODSAn in vitro study was performed to evaluate the prolonging-effect of self-blood on PMMA bone cement. The effect of prolonging was evaluated by the dough time (TD) and operable time (TO). Moreover, hardness test, squeezing value test and peak temperature test were also conducted to complete the evaluation of this program.
RESULTSThe self-blood, especially the plasma, could greatly prolong the handling time of PMMA bone cement without affecting its basic characteristics including hardness, leakage level and peak temperature. On the other hand, we found that in some abnormal conditions, for example with hyperlipemia, self-blood though can also prolong the handling time, would cause some side-effects.
CONCLUSIONWe report a new effective way to prolong the handling time of PMMA bone cement by adding moderate amount of self-blood. But "individualized medicine" should be noticed because some abnormal conditions like hyperlipemia would cause undesired side-effects.

Chinese Medical Journal 2004;117(8):1200-1203
BACKGROUNDSilicon gel is unfavourable for cell attachment and growth. This study was to study if pretreating the surface of silicon gel with chemical agents affects the proliferation of epithelial cells.
METHODSSilicon gel was made and treated with either mixed acid solution (containing 232 g/dm(3) of H(2)SO(4) and 8 g/dm(3) of K(2)Cr(2)O(7)) or 300 cm(3)/dm(3) peroxide for 5, 10, and 15 minutes or 10, 15, and 20 minutes, respectively. The cultured corneal epithelial cells were seeded onto those silicon gels and kept for 13 days. Immunohistochemical investigations were then carried out for integrin (alpha 6 or beta 4) and actin.
RESULTSGrowth of the epithelial cells in silicon gels treated with mixed acid solution for 10 minutes and 15 minutes was much significant than that in the untreated gels. After a 12-hour culture, a small number of corneal epithelial cells were proliferated on the surface of the silicon gels that had been treated with peroxide for 15 minutes. After a 3-day culture, those cells were further proliferated and fused together. The corneal epithelial cells did not grow well in the silicon gels treated with peroxide for 10 or 20 minutes. Immunostaining revealed the expression of actin and integrin alpha 6 or beta 4 on the silicon gels that were treated with mixed acid solution for 10 minutes or peroxide for 15 minutes.
CONCLUSIONSilicon gels treated either with mixed acid solution for 10 or 15 minutes or with peroxide for 15 minutes improves cell proliferation.

Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2007;21(2):50-51
OBJECTIVE:
Study for surgical approaches on anterior skull base tumors.
METHOD:
All 37 cases with anterior skull base tumors were surgically treated. Twenty-one cases were treated with anterior craniofacial approaches: Frontal subcranial combined with total maxillectomy in 8 cases or/with orbital exenteration in 5 cases, combined with lateral rhinotomy in 1 cases, combined with naso translocation with medial maxillectomy in 7 cases. Partial or total maxillary swing combined with naso pyramid translocation in 13 cases. Frontonasal, fronto-orbital and midface degloving in one case respectively.
RESULT:
Of the 27 malignant cases the 3 and 5-year survival rates were 81.9% (22/27) and 62.9% (17/27) respectively, and one tumor free case living well more than 9 years. There were no recurrence in 10 cases with benign tumor.
CONCLUSIONS
Various craniofacial approaches except lateral rhinotomy provide directly satisfactory tumor exposure and facilitate enbloc resection of the naso paranasal sinus tumor with intracranial extension. Partial or total maxillary swing combined with naso pyramid translocation is good for tumor involving the skull base without intracranial invasion. The fronto-nasal pyramid translocation is good for removal of the upper part of nasal tumor with intracranial extension on well developed frontal sinus. The fronto orbital approach is proper for removal of fronto-sphenoid tumor and midface degloving may be used in selected cases.

Chinese Journal of School Health 2022;43(1):129-132
Objective:
To obtain the prevalence of hyperuricemia among primary and secondary school students in Shandong Province, and to provide data support for the prevention and treatment of hyperuricemia in children and adolescents.
Methods:
The stratified cluster random sampling method was used to collect the data of 3 609 primary and secondary school students in urban and rural areas in Shandong Province, including the blood uric acid, waist circumference, height, and weight.
Results:
The average blood uric acid value of primary and secondary school students was (316.17±82.57)μmol/L, and the total detection rate of hyperuricemia was 17.4%. The detection rate of blood uric acid was 18.9% and hyperuricemia[(338.26±90.30)μmol/L] of boys were higher than those of girls[(294.25±67.29)μmol/L,15.9%], and the difference were statistically significant( t/χ 2=16.60, 5.48, P < 0.05). The detection rate of blood uric acid (21.6%) and hyperuricemia [(353.24±78.98)μmol/L] in urban areas was higher than that in rural areas, and higher in coastal areas[(376.80±85.46)μmol/L, 26.6%] than inland; the differences were statistically significant ( t =14.54, 15.27, χ 2=48.15, 132.53, P <0.01). The differences in the blood uric acid value and the detection rate of hyperuricemia between different ages were statistically significant ( t/χ 2=11.79, 18.11, P <0.01). The detection rate of blood uric acid increased with the increase of obesity, waist circumference, blood pressure, blood lipids and blood sugar, and the difference were statistically significant ( χ 2=999.95, 561.08 , 447.57, 196.37, 115.08, P <0.01).
Conclusion
The detection rate of hyperuricemia among primary and secondary school students in Shandong Province is relatively high. The hyperuricemia is related to gender, age, BMI, waist circumference, blood pressure, blood lipids and blood sugar. Highrisk groups should have regular physical examinations to actively improve their unhealthy lifestyles and reduce the incidence of hyperuricemia.
8.A relationship between cyclooxygenase-2 expression and tumor angiogenesis in experimental rat liver carcinogenesis.
Chinese Journal of Hepatology 2006;14(9):676-679
OBJECTIVETo explore the relationship between the expression of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and angiogenesis in hepatocellular carcinoma.
METHODSForty Wistar rats were divided into two groups: a model group (30 rats) and a normal group (10 rats). Hepatocellular carcinoma was induced with 0.01% diethylnitrosamine (DEN) in the model group rats. The rats were sacrificed in batches at the 6th, 12th and 18th week of the experiment. Histological sections of liver tissues were made using routine methods. The expressions of COX-2, VEGF, VEGFR-2/KDR, and MMP-2 protein in the liver tissues were evaluated using immunohistochemical methods.
RESULTSIn liver sections from the model group there were marked pathological changes (steatosis, cell infiltration, cirrhosis and liver cancer). The expressions of VEGF, VEGFR-2/KDR, and MMP-2 in those liver tissues were remarkably increased during the hepatocellular carcinogenesis. Microvessel density (MVD) was also obviously raised during the process of the cancer development. There was a direct correlation between the MVD and VEGF/KDR/MMP-2 (r=0.858, 0.788, 0.684, respectively; all P less than 0.01). There was also a direct correlation between the COX-2 and VEGF/KDR/MMP-2/MVD (r=0.771, 0.599, 0.690, 0.788, respectively; all P < 0.01).
CONCLUSIONCOX-2 can promote tumor angiogenesis during rat hepatocellular carcinogenesis. This may be one of the mechanisms in which COX-2 promotes carcinomas.

Methods:The clinical data of 11 patients with intracranial complications with ear symptoms as the first manifestation in Department of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Qilu Hospital of Shandong University(Qingdao) from December 2014 to June 2022 were collected, including 8 males and 3 females, aged from 4 to 69 years. All patients had complete otoendoscopy, audiology, imaging and etiology examination, and the diagnosis and treatment plan was jointly developed through multidisciplinary consultation according to the critical degree of clinical symptoms and imaging changes. Among the 11 patients, 5 cases were treated with intracranial lesions first in neurosurgery department and middle ear lesions later in otolaryngology, 3 cases of meningitis, were treated with middle ear surgery after intracranial infection control, 1 case was treated with middle ear lesions and intracranial infection simultaneously, and 2 cases were treated with sigmoid sinus and transverse sinus thrombosis conservatively. They were followed up for 1-6 years. Descriptive statistical methods were used for analysis. Results:All the 11 patients had ear varying symptoms, including ear pain, pus discharge and hearing loss, etc, and then fever appeared, headache, disturbance of consciousness, facial paralysis and other intracranial complication. Otoendoscopy showed perforation of the relaxation of the tympanic membrane in 5 cases, major perforation of the tension in 3 cases, neoplasia in the ear canal in 1 case, bulging of the tympanic membrane in 1 case, and turbidity of the tympanic membrane in 1 case. There were 4 cases of conductive hearing loss, 4 cases of mixed hearing loss and 3 cases of total deafness. Imaging examination showed cholesteatoma of the middle ear complicated with temporal lobe brain abscess in 4 cases, cerebellar abscess in 2 cases, cholesteatoma of the middle ear complicated with intracranial infection in 3 cases, and sigmoid sinus thrombophlebitis in 2 cases. In the etiological examination, 2 cases of Streptococcus pneumoniae were cultured in the pus of brain abscess and cerebrospinal fluid, and 1 case was cultured in streptococcus vestibularis, Bacteroides uniformis and Proteus mirabilis respectively. During the follow-up, 1 patient died of cardiovascular disease 3 years after discharge, and the remaining 10 patients survived. There was no recurrence of intracranial and middle ear lesions. Sigmoid sinus and transverse sinus thrombosis were significantly improved. Conclusion:Brain abscess, intracranial infection and thrombophlebitis are the most common otogenic intracranial complications, and cholesteatoma of middle ear is the most common primary disease. Timely diagnosis, multidisciplinary collaboration, accurate grasp of the timing in the treatment of primary focal and complications have improved the cure rate of the disease.
