1.Questionnaire analysis of related factors of male pattern alopecia and clinical efficacy of finasteride therapy in 320 patients

Objective To study the related factors of male pattern alopecia(MPA) and efficacy of finasteride as well as to survey the related factors influencing the life quality of patients with MPA.Methods Questionnaire with dermatology life quality index(DLQI) and center for epidemiologic studies depression scale(CES-D) were adopted to assess the life quality and psychological changes of 320 outpatients with MPA.The 320 patients with MPA of Hamilton grades Ⅱ-Ⅶ took finasteride tablet of 1mg/day for over 4 months in this clinical tria1.We analyzed the related factors of MPA,tested the related indexes,and observed for changes of hair growth and adverse reactions.Results DLQI and CES-D scores of the 320 MPA patients obviously increased.Many factors including inheritance and psychological influence were correlated with MPA.The total efficacy rate after treatment for over 4 months was 80.8%.Conclusion Hair loss significantly affected the life quality of patients with MPA and brought negative effects on the patients' psychology,which can worsen hair loss.Therefore,appropriate psychotherapy and other treatments should be given to them.MPA is a kind of disease caused by multiple factors and oral administration of finasteride(1mg) is effective and safe for treating MPA.
2. Analysis of brain structural network of patients with mild cognitive impairment based on DTI

Objective: To construct brain structural network based on DTI data,so as to investigate whether the brain structural network of with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) patients has small-world property,also to observe the changes of relevant characteristic parameters. Methods: Brain DTI data of 26 MCI patients (MCI group) and 27 healthy elders (NC group) were collected. The images were preprocessed with PANDA software, and the cerebral cortex was divided into 90 regions using automated anatomical labeling (AAL) template. Diffusion tensor tractography was implemented using deterministic fiber tracing algorithm, and the white matter fiber connection network was constructed with the fiber number (FN) between 2 brain regions as the threshold T value. T value was set in the range of 1-5, step length was 1, then the characteristic parameters of the brain network at different T value were calculated, including average path length (Lp), aggregation coefficient (CP), global efficiency (Eglobal) and local efficiency (Elocal). The network was considered to be a small-world network if γ=C/Crand>1 and λ=L/Lrand≈1 (rand representing relative random networks) or δ=γ/λ>1 were satisfied. The differences of brain structural network characteristic parameters were compared between 2 groups. Results: When 1≤T≤5, MCI group and NC group both met the criteria of γ>1 and λ≈1; LP of MCI group were all higher than those of NC group (all P<0.05), no statistical difference of CP was found between 2 groups (all P>0.05). When 1≤T≤4, Eglobal of MCI group were all lower than those of NC group (all P<0.05), when T=2, Elocal of MCI group was lower than that of NC group (P<0.05). Conclusion: The brain structural network of MCI patients has small-world property, but its small-world characteristics are impaired.
3.Detection of Skp2 mRNA gene expression using fluorogenic probe quantitative RT-PCR method in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma.

OBJECTIVE:
The current study was designed to examine the expression of Skp2 gene in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC) and to investigate the role of Skp2 gene in tumorigenesis and progression of LSCC.
METHOD:
FQ-PCR method was used to examined the expression of Skp2 gene in 40 LSCC and 10 normal laryngeal mucosa tissues, and relationship between its expression and clinical biological factors of patients with LSCC was analyzed.
RESULT:
The median copy number of Skp2 mRNA expression in LSCC was 6622.54 copy/microg RNA, the median copy number of Skp2 mRNA expression in normal laryngeal mucosa tissues was 0 copy/microg RNA, there was a very significant difference between them (P < 0.01); The positive rate of Skp2 mRNA expression in LSCC and adjacent normal laryngeal tissue were 50%, 0, respectively (P < 0.01). The median copy number of Skp2 RNA expression in LSCC with cervical lymph node metastasis was 617138.4 copy/microg RNA, the median copy number of Skp2 mRNA expression in LSCC without cervical lymph node metastasis was 0 copy/microg RNA, there was a very significant difference between them (P < 0.05); The positive rate of Skp2 mRNA expression in LSCC with and without cervical lymph node metastasis were 100.00%, 35.48%, respectively (P < 0.01).
CONCLUSION
Skp2 gene might have relation with the cervical lymph node metastasis of LSCC. FQ-PCR is an accurate assay to detecting expression of Skp2 mRNA in patient with LSCC. The level of Skp2 mRNA expression might be a new and more accurate marker, and it can be used to predict cervical lymph node metastasis of LSCC.

4.The preliminary study of ESWAN in diagnosis of uterine fibroids

Objective To explore the diagnostic value of ESWAN in uterine fibroids by analyzing the ESWAN signal of uterine fibroid. Methods Conventional MRI and ESWAN were carried out in thirty-seven patients with uterine fibroids.The differences of ESWAN indexes between uterine fibroids and myometrium were analyzed by paired t-test.The value of ESWAN on diagnosing uterine fibroids was analyzed by receiver operating characteristic curve(ROC curve).Results The magnitude value,phase value,R2* value and T2*value of uterine fibroids were 1 661.69 ± 45.24,(0.006 7 ± 0.007 7)Hz,(26.69 ± 1.04)Hz and(34.68 ± 1.73)ms,respectively.The magnitude value,phase value,R2* value and T2* value of myometrium were 1 790.95 ± 49.04,(0.013 1 ± 0.011 8)Hz,(22.35 ± 0.84)Hz and(42.53 ± 2.16)ms.The magnitude value,phase value and T2* value of uterine fibroids were lower than those of myometrium (P=0.008,P=0.659 and P=0.002).While the R2* value of of uterine fibroids was higher than that of myometrium(P=0.001). The area under curve(AUC)of magnitude value,phase value,R2* value and T2* value were 0.604,0.553,0.666 and 0.662.Conclusion ESWAN can show the differences between uterine fibroids and myometrium ,while the ability to independently diagnose uterine fibroids was modest.
