Objective To explore the clinical features of acute retroperitoneal colon perforation. Methods A retrospective analysis and summary were made on the clinical data of 20 cases of various retroperitoneal colon perforation. Results All of the 20 cases had been misdiagnosed preoperatively. Eighteen cases received surgical treatment, of which 5 cases underwent one-stage tumor resection, 5 cases had two-stage tumor resection and anastomosis;of 8 cases with traumatic perforation,7 were treated by simple suture, 1 case underwent two-stage colonic anastomosis; 2 cases died, all the 2 cases were treated conservatively. Conclusions There are many differences between retroperitoneal colon perforation and intra-abdominal perforation in clinical symptoms, signs and supplementary examinations. Diagnosis of retroperitoneal colon perforation is difficult and the rate of misdiagnosis is high, so this condition must be highly regarded.Surgery is the best option to treat this disease.

AIM:To introduce and evaluate two methods for sample size calculation in doseresponse research.METHODS:The methods used for sample size calculation in dose-response research include Cochran-Armitage trend(CAT) test proposed by Jun-mo Nam and the Unified contrast(CUC) method proposed by Chang. This paper takes the example of binary data, uses the two methods to calculate the required sample size and evaluate the power by simulation under the assumption that the response rate had a linear relationship with dosage under the logit scale.RESULTS:When the probability of response followed a linear trend on the logit scale, the sample sizes estimated from the two methods are approximately equal in various parameter's settings. The simulated power of CAT test was close to the expected one, however, the simulated power of CUC method was obviously affected by the values of contrast coefficient,if a contrast whose coefficients parallel the expected response, the CUC method was more powerful. CONCLUSION:When the probability of response follows a linear trend over dosage on the logit scale, the two methods reach almost the same result,in such circumstance, the Chang's unified contrast method will obtain an increasing power.

OBJECTIVETo discuss the operation method and characteristic of correcting upper eyelid depression by transposition of orbital septum fat.
METHODSDuring the double eyelid surgery, we set.the lateral orbital septum fat completely free, while the bottom is still connected with the middle orbital septum fat. We separate a tunnel from the middle to the inner side in orbital septum, and the separated orbital septum fat is transposed to the inner side of orbital septum by the tunnel with suturing fixation.
RESULTSFrom March 2008 to October 2013, 51 cases with upper eyelid depression were treated successfully. Patients were followed up for 3 months to 3 years (average, 7. 5 months) with sustained aesthetic results.
CONCLUSIONSOrbital septum fat transposition can successfully correct the upper eyelid depression. It should become a regular procedure in blepharoplasty.

The prevalence of obesity has increased worldwide in recent decades. Genetic factors are now known to play a substantial role in the predisposition to obesity and may contribute up to 70% of the risk for obesity. Technological advancements during the last decades have allowed the identification of many hundreds of genetic markers associated with obesity. However, the transformation of current genetic variant-obesity associations into biological knowledge has been proven challenging. Genomics and proteomics are complementary fields, as proteomics extends functional analyses. Integrating genomic and proteomic data can help to bridge a gap in knowledge regarding genetic variant-obesity associations and to identify new drug targets for the treatment of obesity. We provide an overview of the published papers on the integrated analysis of proteomic and genomic data in obesity and summarize four mainstream strategies: overlap, colocalization, Mendelian randomization, and proteome-wide association studies. The integrated analyses identified many obesity-associated proteins, such as leptin, follistatin, and adenylate cyclase 3. Despite great progress, integrative studies focusing on obesity are still limited. There is an increased demand for large prospective cohort studies to identify and validate findings, and further apply these findings to the prevention, intervention, and treatment of obesity. In addition, we also discuss several other potential integration methods.
