Objective To investigate diagnose accordance rate of thyroid function tests .Methods Clinical data of 15 579 patients suspected with thyroid diseases ,treated during 2011 and 2013 ,were collected ,who were divided into hyperthyroidism group ,hypot‐hyroidism group ,normal group and other diseases group .Proportions of each type of patients were calculated .In each group ,100 pa‐tients were randomly selected to analyze the diagnose accordance rate of thyroid function tests .Results Among all of the 15 579 pa‐tients ,the proportion of hyperthyroidism(24 .73% ) ,hypothyroidism(9 .83% ) and other thyroid diseases(7 .56% ) were statistically different with the proportion of normal thyroid function (57 .89% ,P< 0 .05) .The diagnose accordance rates of thyroid function tests were 81 .00%‐99 .00% .Conclusion Thyroid function tests could be helpful for the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of thy‐roid diseases ,but still with probability of missed diagnosis .

The injury of anal sphincter complex during childbirth can result in long-term anal incontinence problems.Recently, several new techniques in ultrasound have been used to evaluate the function and injury of anal sphincter, such as tomographic ultrasound imaging, volume contrast imaging and speckle reduction imaging. The diagnosis rate of the injury of anal sphincter complex has been improved rapidly. The development of 2D and 3D ultrasound in evaluating function and injury of postpartum anal sphincter complex were reviewed in this article.

Endometrial lesions are common gynecological diseases in women, including submucosal fibroids, endometrial polyps, endometrial hyperplasia and endometrial cancer, etc.Endometrial hyperplasia is one of the precancerous lesions, and early diagnosis can effectively reduce the rate of malignancy.Ultrasound elastography has been gradually used in gynecology. The classification, principles of ultrasound elastography and its application in diagnosis of endometrial lesions were reviewed in the article.

Objective To evaluate the clinical diagnosis and treatment of acute renal infarction. Methods Two cases (3 sides) of acute renal infarction were reported. The patients were 1 male and 1 female, with the age of 62 and 54 years.Case 1 presented acute left flank pain, and enhanced CT showed a non-enhanced area in the upper and mid pole of the left kidney. The diagnosis of focal renal infarction was made and treated with low-molecular heparin (6000 U ).Case 2 presented acute both right abdominal and flank pain, and enhanced CT showed right renal artery embolism and right renal complete infarction.Digital subtraction angiography (DSA) and catheter thrombolytic therapy was applied.4 months later, the patient presented acute left flank pain, and enhanced CT showed a low density area in left kidney without enhanced by contrast, and DSA and catheter thrombolytic therapy was applied again. Results In case 1,contrastenhanced MRI showed a still low signal area like enhanced CT after 2 days of treatment. The renal function remained normal in the follow-up of 36 months. In case 2,the right kidney resorted to moderate blood flow but became atrophy later. In the follow-up of 4 months,a recurrent focal infarction was confirmed in left kidney by enhanced CT.The left kidney also resorted to moderate bloodflow after DSA and catheter thrombolytic therapy. The renal function became normal after follow-up of 10 months and no new infarction was observed. Conclusions The diagnosis of acute renal infraction could be made by enhanced CT or MRI.Early diagnosis and location of the infraction renal artery is critical for recovery of the impaired renal function.Acute renal infraction should be suspected in patients with unexplained persistent and steady flank or abdominal pain in emergence department.

Thyroid disease is characterized by unusual levels of thyroid hormones, which results in either hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism. The pathology of a particular type or stage of thyroid disease is very complicated, and always linked to a variety of biological functions. Although the mortality rate is not high, thyroid dysfunction could lead to metabolic and immunological disorders that can subsequently cause discomfort. To date, many drugs are suggested to have curative effects on thyroid disease, however, drug toxicity and long treatment periods encourage the search for more promising ones. Prunella vulgaris L. (Labiatae) is a popular herb that has shown great potential for improving human immunity and organ protection. It has been extensively used in the treatment of many diseases but its ability to treat specific diseases has not been fully reported. In this review, a literature search regarding herbs and herbal recipes for treating thyroid disease were carried out, organized, and summarized. In addition, this study conducted a literature search on the current situation and progress of P. vulgaris treatment for various diseases. Finally, this study discussed studies regarding P. vulgaris treatment of goiter, and the mechanism of treatment through the regulation of apoptosis. Accordingly, a combination therapy of herbs and Western medicine can provide significant therapeutic effects in the clinical treatment of thyroid disease. Furthermore, the association between P. vulgaris and various diseases suggests that P. vulgaris is rich in a variety of active substances that can fight oxidation and participate in the regulation of apoptosis, thus having a protective effect on the thyroid. Here, a comprehensive literature review regarding the application of herbs or herbal recipes in the treatment of thyroid disease was presented. It is concluded that there is strong evidence for further research regarding the use of P. vulgaris in the treatment of thyroid diseases.
