1.Effect of isoflurane on pulmonary surfactant synthesis in cultured primary alveolar type Ⅱ cells

AIM To determine the effect of isoflurane(Iso) on pulmonary surfactant(PS) synthesis in cultured primary ATⅡ cells. METHODS ATⅡ cells were isolated from adult rat lungs and used for the experiments after 32 h in primary culture. Iso 0.28 and 2 8 mmol?L -1 was added into the media of normal and H 2O 2 (75 ?mol?L -1 )-treated cells, and the cells were further incubated for 2 h. The cell proliferation was measured with MTT method and PS synthesis with 3H-choline chloride incorporation. RESULTS Iso had no effect on the proliferation of ATⅡ cells, but markedly decreased PS synthesis in normal alveolar type Ⅱ cells, and aggravated the decrease of PS synthesis induced by H 2O 2. CONCLUSION Iso may decrease PS synthesis of alveolar type Ⅱ cells in vitro , and aggravate the damage of the cells under peroxidation condition.
2.Effects of isoflurane on Na-K-ATPase activity of cultured primary alveolar type Ⅱ cells

Objective To explore the effect of isoflurane on Na-K-ATPase activity in cultured primary alveolar type Ⅱ(ATⅡ) cells with or without being injured by H 2O 2.Methods ATⅡcells were isolated from adult rat lungs and incubated for 24h and divided into six groups. Group 1 served as control and received no treatment. Group 2 and 3 ATⅡ cells were exposed to 0.28 or 2.8mmol/L isoflurane. In group 4 cells were exposed to 75?mol/L H 2O 2. In group 5 and 6 cells were exposed to both 75?mol/L H 2O 2 + 0.28 or 2.8mmol/L isoflurane. Each group was incubated for another 2h after the addition of isoflurane and /or H 2O 2. The Na-K-ATPase activity of ATⅡcells ,the LDH activity and the MDA concentration of fluid culture medium were measured by biochemical methods.Results Isoflurane markedly decreased Na-K-ATPase activity in normal ATⅡ cells, but aggravated the decrease in Na-K-ATPase activity induced by H 2O 2. Isoflurane had no effect on LHD activity and MDA concentration of fluid culture medium of normal ATⅡ cells ,but significantly increased LHD activity and the MDA concentration of of fluid culture medium of ATⅡ cells injured by H 2O 2.Conclusions Isoflurane can inhibit Na-K-ATPase activity of ATⅡ cells in vitro, and aggravate the damage of ATⅡ cells caused by oxidants.
3.Investigation on the level of hopelessness,anxiety and depression in hospitalized patients with cancer

Objective To investigate the suicide related psychological status of cancer patients in hospital. Methods 508 cancer patients in the Affiliated- Tumor- Hospital- of- Guangxi- Medical- University were recruited and using the hospital anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) and Beck Hopelessness Scale (BHS) for evaluating cancer patients′anxiety, depression, hopelessness. According to age, the patients were divided into three groups, comparing the differences in three groups′scores of anxiety, depression, hopelessness. Results Of all the respondents, there were 38.7% (172/445) patients with anxiety, and 26.3% (117/445) patients with depression, and 59.1% (263/445) patients with different degrees of hopelessness. In the comparison of three groups of patients, anxiety scores existed differences (U=7.083,P < 0.05), the average score of anxiety in patients below 40 years was 6.84±3.73, 40-49 years old patients with anxiety average score was 7.17±3.75, 50-60 years old patients with anxiety average score was 6.14±3.79. But depression scores and despair scores had no statistic difference among the three groups(U=2.417 and 0.166, P > 0.05). Conclusions Many people have anxiety / depression in cancer patients, most cancer patients have varying degrees of hopelessness. The health care workers should get attention to these suicide related psychology, take appropriate intervention, in order to avoid the occurrence of hospitalized cancer patients committing suicide.
4.Investigation of hospitalized patients with cancer of the current sense of hopelessness

Objective To investigate the status of hospitalized cancer patients sense of hopelessness.Methods 508 cancer patients in the Affiliated Tumor Hospital of Guangxi Medical University were recruited and divided into the youth group and the middle aged group.Beck Hopelessness Scale (BHS) was assessed to compare the depression degree between the youth group and the middle aged group.Results In general,without a sense of hopelessness in 182 patients (40.9%),mild hopelessness in 178 patients (40.0%),moderate hopelessness in 68 patients (15.3%),severe hopelessness in 17 patients (3.8%).However,no statistical difference was significantly different on the depression degree between the youth group and the middle aged group,while significat difference existed between patients with different dwelling places and treatment time.Conclusions Most cancer patients have different degree of hopelessness.Duration of treatment,dwelling conditions and other factors can affect the patients sense of hopelessness.
5.Investigating the autistic traits in children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder

Objective To investigate the autistic symptoms or autistic trait in the children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder(ADHD) for facilitating the development of appropriate interventions.Methods Sixty-two 6-12-year-old high-functioned autism spectrum disorder (ASD),ADHD and typically developing (TD) children were assessed respectively using Chinese-version social responsiveness scale (SRS),and ADHD core symptoms were assessed in the ADHD children at the same time.Results ASD group>ADHD group> TD group on the SRS total raw score and the five dimensions scores as well(P<0.01).ASD,ADHD and TD group scored respectively 92.43±19.17,65.66±19.86 and 38.40±10.68 on the SRS total scale.The SRS total raw score of ADHD group exceeded the TD group for 2.55 standard deviant (SD) and with social communication (2.00 SD) and autistic mannerism (2.71 SD) deviating the most.22.58% (14 out of 62) children with ADHD scored above the threshold on the SRS total raw score which was significantly higher than that in the TD group(P<0.01).There were nonsignificant differences in the ADHD core symptoms between ADHD± children (with the SRS total raw score ≥85)and ADHD-children(with the SRS total raw score<85) (P>0.01).Conclusion Children with ADHD appear more ASD symptoms than the TD children and a considerable proportion of them reach the SRS diagnostic cut-off point.
6.Effect of Jinwu Jiangu Decoction on IL-17,ACT1,TRAF6 in Synovial Cells of Rheumatoid Arthritis

Objective To investigate the effect of Miao medicine Jinwu Jiangu decoction containing serum freeze-dried powder on levels of IL-17,ACT1 and TRAF6 in human rheumatoid arthritis fibroblast like synoviocytes (RA-HFLS).Methods Rabbits were randomly divided into blank control group (recieving normal saline of the same volume),Jinwu Jiangu decoction high-dose,medium-dose and low-dose group (intragastrically administrated with Jinwu Jiangu decoction at doses of 14.4,4.8 and 2.4 g·kg-1,respectively),tripterygium glycosides group and prednisone group (treated with human equivalent dosage).RA-HFLS primary cell model was established in the experiment.ELISA method was used to detect effect of lyophilized powder on IL-17 secretion.Expression of ACT1,TRAF6 mRNA was detected by RT-PCR.Results Compared with the blank control gorup,IL-17 in the supernatant of each medication administration group was significantly decreased (all P<0.01),and it was decreased most significantly in Jinwu Jiangu decoction high-dose and medium-dose group.IL-17 was down-regulated more significantly in high-dose group than that in tripterygium glycosides group (P<0.01).Compared with the blank control group,TRAF6 and ACT1 mRNA expression level of each medication administration group were significantly decreased (all P<0.01),and in the high-dose group that were decreased most significantly,but not significantly different as compared with tripterygium glycosides group and prednisone group (P>0.05).Conclusion Freeze-dried powder of Jinwu Jiangu decoction can decrease the secretion of IL-17 and down-regulate expression of ACT1,TRAF6 with RA-HFLS.
7.A Meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials on Xipayi Mouth Rinse for the treatment of halitosis

Objective:To evaluate the effectiveness of Xipayi Mouth Rinse in the treatment of halitosis.Methods:PubMed/MEDLINE,China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) (1979-2015) and Weipu Database for Chinese Technical Periodicals (1989-2013) were systemically searched.The methodological quality of the included trials was assessed based on the Jadad scale and the available data were analyzed with RevMan software (version 5.3).Results:8 studies involving 608 participants satisfied the minimum criteria for Meta-analysis.The evidence showed that the Organoleptic Score (OS) of Xipayi Mouth Rinse compared with placebo for treatment of halitosis was [WMD =-0.43,95% CI (-0.57,-0.29)],plaque index (PLI) [WMD =-1.59,95% CI (-1.67,-1.51)];the OS of Xipayi Mouth Rinse compared with western medicine [WMD =0.16,95% CI (0.05,0.28)],PLI [WMD =0.10,95% CI(0.03,0.18)];the total efficiency of Xipayi Mouth Rinse compared with normal saline was[RR:1.64,95% CI(1.11,2.42)].Conclusion:The current clinical evidence showed that the effectiveness of Xipayi Mouth Rinse in the treatment of halitosis is higher than the Placebo,but lower than western medicine.

Intensity-modulated radiation therapy(IMRT) is currently the main treatment method for nasopharyngeal carcinoma. During radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma, factors such as body mass reduction, tumor regression, and organ displacement at risk can affect the precise implementation of radiation therapy. Applying adaptive radiotherapy (ART) technology to optimize the treatment plan at the appropriate timing can reduce the adverse effects caused by the above factors and enhance the accuracy of radiotherapy. There are no uniform standards for the necessity, timing, and case selection of ART. In this review, the research progress of ART in the radiotherapy of nasopharyngeal carcinoma in recent years was reviewed to provide a reference for further clinical application of ART in nasopharyngeal carcinoma.

The Major of Medical Imaging Technology (Radiotherapy Technology Orientation) in West China Medical School, Sichuan University, has been devoted to training therapists, dosimetrists, and physicists in tumor radiotherapy, and it is urgently needed to improve the practice ability of interns and standardize the teaching system. In view of the current status of the practice of students in radiotherapy technology, this article analyzes and summarizes the teaching staff construction, teaching contents, teaching methods, and other aspects, finds out the problems and challenges in the current teaching system, and puts forward suggestions for practice teaching reform.
