Objective] Metabolomics is a genomics research methods, has good prospects in the study of mechanisms of acupuncture. In this paper, the progress of the research on the mechanism of the action of metabolism in the mechanism of acupuncture and moxibustion were reviewed. [Methods] Retrieve acupuncture mechanism studies, which use metabolic technology in nearly 15 years, and to summarize. [Results]Nearly 15 years metabolomics research techniques and tools developed rapidly. But the acupuncture metabomoic studies were still based on the research of animal experiments mainly, relative clinical research less. [Conclusion] With the deepening development of metabolomics studies, the metabolic characteristics of various diseases will gradually clear. Acupuncture clinical mechanisms research combined with metabolomics technology will have broader prospects. But the research strategy of metabololic technology on acupuncture clinical efficacy is yet to be further explored and improved.

[Objective]To determine the content of Polygonum multiflorum thunb. Polysaccharide and the refined. [Methods] The sulfuric acid-phenol method was used. [Results] ?_ max = 486nm. The linear rang was 10.5~94.5?g?L -1 .And the average recovery was 101.23%(n=5,RSD=3.03%). The content of Polygonum multiflorum thunb. Polysaccharide was 14.28% and the refined was 19.03%. [Conclusion] The method was simple, rapid and reliable.

[Objective]To study the inhibitory effect of the extract of Rhizoma Amorphophallus,we set up the Kunming mices which were vaccinated with H22 tumor as experimental model, and explore the possibility mechanism of them.[Method]We adopted the mices vaccinated with H22 tumor as experimental model to observe the influence of different extracts on the antitumor ratio, and the cooperating antitumor effect together with 5-Fu.Using flow cytometry to detect the effect of petroleum ether extract on apoptotic cells.Using immunohistochemical method to observe the influence of this extract to the expression of Survivin and Bax(Bcl-2 associated protein x).[Result]The extract of petroleum ether of Rhizoma Amorphophalli had inhibitory effect of the growth on mice vaccinated with H22 tumor, and the possible mechanism was the downregulation of Survivin expression and upregulation of Bax expression to induce apoptosis of tumor cell.

ObjectiveTo determine the protein and mRNA expression levels of interleukin-17 (IL-17) and proportions of Th17 cells in peripheral blood of patients with atopic dermatitis (AD),and to analyze their clinical significance.MethodsVenous blood samples were obtained from 63 patients with AD and 30 normal human controls.Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay was performed to measure the plasma level of IL-17 protein, real time fluorescence reverse transcription (RT)-PCR to detect the mRNA expression level of IL-17 in peripheral blood, flow cytometry to determine the percentage of Th17 cells in peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMCs).Spearman's rank correlation analysis was performed to assess the relationship of peripheral blood Th17 cell percentage and IL-17 levels with disease severity in patients with AD.Results The percentage of Th17 cells in PBMCs was 1.83% ± 0.47% in patients with acute AD,significantly higher than that in normal human controls (0.85% ± 0.45%,t =4.128,P < 0.01 ) and in patients with chronic AD ( 1.12% ± 0.69%,t =2.439,P < 0.05).There was a significant increase in the plasma level (98.37 vs.63.75 ng/L,U =168,P < 0.05) and mRNA expression level of IL-17 in peripheral blood in patients with AD compared with normal controls. Both the Th17 cell percentage and plasma IL-17 level were positively correlated with eczema area and severity index(EASI) score in patients with AD (r =0.681,P < 0.01;r =0.427,P < 0.05).ConclusionsThere is an elevated proportion of Th17 cells and an abnormal expression of IL-17 protein and mRNA in peripheral blood from patients with acute AD,which are positively correlated with disease severity, implicating the possible roles of IL-17 and Th17 cells in the pathogenesis of AD.

The development of TCM acupuncture represents a internationalized and modern trend. A recent study with the title of "Acupuncture for chronic knee pain: a randomized clinical trial" published in Journal of the American Medical Association on October 1st, 2014, which raised doubts on acupuncture efficacy as well as traditional manipulation and acupoint theory, makes some negative impact and challenges on the development of acupuncture. From the view of future development of acupuncture, the potential influence of this research on acupuncture development is proposed, and by combining acupuncture theory, some discussions and doubts on the research design and outcome explanations are made. Additionally, enlightenments of this research on further clinical research are summarized.

Apoptosis refers to the programmed death process of cells modulated by genes. It plays an important role in promoting the evolution of organisms, regulating the development of multiple systems, and maintaining the stability of internal environment. The major apoptosis pathways include mitochondrial pathways, death receptor pathways, and endoplasmic reticulum pathways. With the rapid development of the scientific research on acupuncture, it’s revealed that cell apoptosis should be closely related to the action of acupuncture. So far, the major apoptosis factors involved in relevant researches are P53, Bcl-2 family, Cyt-C, Caspase, Fas/Fasl, TNFR1/TNF-?, and FADD-Caspase8, and PERK, etc. Via influencing these apoptosis factors or genes, acupuncture can produce various effects in improving tissue ischemia, protecting neural cells, reducing inflammation, and correcting endocrine disorders. This article summarized and reviewed the apoptosis pathways and key factors related to the action of acupuncture, to provide some beneficial references for future studies.
