Objective To study the relationship between serum lactadherin (MFG-E8),sialic acid (SA) level and coronary heart disease (CHD) occurrence and development.Methods 166 patients in our hospital were selected from June 2014 to November 2015,and then according to the result of coronary angiography divide the subjects into control group (n=56,the result of coronary angiography completely normal) and CHD group,including stable angina 48 cases (StA subgroup),unstable angina 30 cases (UA subgroup) and acute myocardial infarction 32 cases (AMI subgroup).The serum level of MFG-E8 was detected by ELISA method,the serum level of SA,hs-CRP and lipid index were detected by biochemical analysis.Gensini score showed the severity of coronary stenosis.The correlation analysis between detecting parameters was carried out by Spearman method.Results Compared with the control group,the patients with CHD have a higher level of serum SA and a lower level of MFG-E8 (both P<0.05).The AMI subgroup has a lower level of serum MFG-E8 than StA and UA subgroups,and the AMI subgroup has a higher level of serum SA than StA and UA subgroups (all P<0.05).The correlation analysis showed that the serum SA has a positively correlation with the level of TG,hs-CRP,and Gensini score,and has a negatively correlated with the level of MFG-E8 (all P<0.05).The MFG-E8 has a negatively correlated with the level of TG,hs-CRP,and Gensini score (all P<0.05).Conclusion MFG-E8 and SA play an important role in the development of CHD,and combined detection of serum MFG-E8 and SA may be helpful in the clinical diagnosis and risk assessment of patients with CHD.

Objective To investigate the distribution status of coal-burning fluorosis (endemic fluorosis) areas in Luoyang and to provide scientifc evidence for making strategies in prevention and control. Methods In 2006, a household per village was chosen to carry the general survey so as of disease condition, living habits and housing structure among 941 coal-burning pollution fluorine sickness natural villages in Yanshi, Mengjin, Xin'an, Luanchuan counties and Geely area which were under the jurisdiction of Luoyang. In the general survey, the sampled village having a population of more than 500 person was considered as a major survey village, and water fluoride, 8 - 12 year-old child fluorine spot on tooth and the urinary fluoride were surveyed. Water fluoride and the child urinary fluoride determination used the fluoride ion selective electrode method, and the children's dental fluorosis used Dean method. Results The endemic fluorosis of Luoyang existed 742 in endemic fluomsis villages, compared with history, a decrease of 199 in number. Ninety-six point seven per cent( 142 543/147 419) of the households were consuming smoke-free coal. Households using intact kitchens accounted for 93.6%( 137 919/147 419). Of which 63.0%(86 889/137 919) of kitchens were mixed up with bedrooms. Total 125 060 people were using coal- fired furnace for heating, of which 87.8%(109 802/125 060) had smoke-free facilities, 12.2%(15 258/125 060) had none. Among 52 endemic villages with population of more than 500 people surveyed, a total of 183 water samples were collected, 2 had water fluoride exceeding 1.0 rag/L, the highest water fluoride being 1.04 rag/L, averaging 0.39 mg/L Sixteen villages had a prevalence rate of dental fluorosis for children less than 30.00%, accounting for 30.8% (16/52), 36 endemic villages the prevalence of dental fluorosis detection rate of more than 30.00%, accounting for 69.2%(36/52). Twenty-thrce villages had a dental fluorosis index greater than 0.6, severe dental fluorosis was not found. Real-time measurement of 1408 urine samples of children aged 8 - 12 showed that urine fluoride highest value 6.88 nag/L, the minimum value of 0.10 mg/L, geometric mean 1.10 mg/L. The prevalence rate of dental fluorosis for children was 36.06%. Conclusions In Luoyang city, numbers of coal-burning endemic fluorosis villages are less than before, children's dental fluorosis has significantly declined, however some people still use kitchens connecting with bedrooms and lack smoke-free facilities, they need to be educated to change lifestyle and improve furnace to reduce soot fluoride pollution.

OBJECTIVETo compare the effect,safety,and advantage of flexible fixation with paperboard and pad versus short leg plaster in treating the fifth metatarsal base fracture,and establish the standard of diagnosis and treatment of the fifth metatarsal base fractures in flexible fixation with paperboard and pad.

METHODSFrom June 2010 to March 2013,59 patients with the fifth metatarsal base fracture were treated with paperboard and pad fixation or short leg plaster. Patients were enrolled and divided into paperboard and pad treatment group (paperboard group) and short leg plaster treatment group (plaster group) randomly according to the random number table. In paperboard group,there were 29 cases including 9 males and 20 females with an average age of (51.79±11.40) years old; the average course of injury was (11.59±6.58) hours. In plaster group, there were 30 cases including 9 males and 21 females with an average age of (52.13+17.34) years old ;the average course of injury was (11.03±7.06) hours. According to whether the fracture line across the articular surface, in paperboard group there were 14 cases of type A,15 of type B; in plaster group,16 of type A, 14 of type B. According to the degree of dislocation,in paperboard group there were 16 cases of degree I ,13 of degree II ; in plaster group,20 were degree I ,10 were degree II. Fracture was restored according to the type in manual. Patients in paperboard group were treated with paperboard and pad, and patients in plaster group were treated with short leg plaster. Fracture was fixed for 4 to 6 weeks according to fracture healing. On the 2nd, 4th,6th, 8th week and 3rd, 6th month after fixation, patients were followed up, and the foot function score was used to evaluate the function of injured foot. X-ray of injured foot was taken on the 2nd, 4th, 6th and 8th week were used to assess fracture healing.

RESULTSAll patients got complete follow-up. The X-ray result showed that all fracture reached at clinical healing on the 8th week after fixation without skin ulcer,nonunion and displacement of fracture. From the 4th to 8th week after fixation, paperboard group had a higher X-ray score than plaster group, but the difference between two groups had no statistically significance. Repeated analysis result showed that there was interact at different time point and between groups,the difference had statistically significance (P<0.01). The foot function score showed that at all time point, paperboard group had a higher score than plaster group, and on the 2nd, 4th, and 6th week, it had statistically significant difference(P<0.01) between two groups. On the 6th months after fixation,the excellent and good rate of paperboard group was 93.10%, higher than that of plaster group, which was 86.67%. But it had no statistically difference(P=0.483) between two groups.

CONCLUSIONUsing paperboard and pad fixation to treat the fifth metatarsal base fracture has the advantage of simplicity operating,reliable fixation, satisfactory effects, easily obtainable material.

Objective To investigate the levels of miR-1 9a and miR-1 9b expressions in cancer tissues and serum of patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC),and evaluate the potential of miR-1 9a and miR-1 9b as biomarkers of NSCLC.Methods Real time-PCR was used to detect the expressions of miR-1 9a and miR-1 9b in serum of normal people and patients with NSCLC and in cancer tissues and their corresponding non-tumor tissues. The diagnostic value of miR-1 9a and miR-1 9b for NSCLC was assessed by receiver operator characteristic (ROC) curve.Results The expression levels of serum miR-1 9a and miR-1 9b were significantly higher in patients with non-small cell lung cancer than in normal people (P <0.05 ).The expressions of miR-1 9a and miR-1 9b in NSCLC were much higher than in the adjacent normal tissues.For miR-1 9a the area under ROC curve was 0.989,and the sensitivity and specificity were 95.1 and 94.0.The area under ROC curve for miR-1 9b was 0.983,and the sensitivity and specificity were 93.4 and 94.0.Conclusion The high expressions of miR-1 9a and miR-1 9b are found in cancer tissues and serum from NSCLC patients.Therefore,they may be used as noninvasive biomarkers for diagnosis and prognosis of NSCLC.

β-Amyrin synthase (β-AS) genes of Glycyrrhiza uralensis from 6 different regions were analyzed by PCR-SSCP and sequenced, then the correlationship between β-AS SNP and regions of Glycyrrhiza uralensis were determined. According to the 1 coding single nucleotide polymorphism on the first exon of β-AS gene at 94 bp site, Glycyrrhiza uralensis could be divided into 3 genotypes. In these genotypes, the percentage of 94A type in genuine regions was much higher, and it had significant differences with the percentage in non-genuine regions (P < 0.001). The results of the experiment proved that different β-AS genotypes at 94 bp site from different regions may be one of the important reasons to result in the genuineness of Glycyrrhiza uralensis.

Objective To explore the therapeutic value of modified endoscopic submucosal dissection with ligation (ESD-L) for small tumors originated from gastric muscularis propria.Methods Total of 60 patients with tumors originated from gastric muscularis propria,which was confirmed by endoscopic ultrasonography and smaller than 12 mm and were recruited to the present study.The conventional ESD technique was used to dissect the tumor to the depth of muscularis propria.Then the bottom of the tumor and the beneath muscularis propria were ligated fully with a nylon loop.Further dissection was applied till the whole tumor was isolated.Results All 60 lesions were dissected completely with perforation occurred in 10 cases,which were managed successfully with metal hemoclip.Pathologic diagnosis was obtained in all lesions,and no recurrence was found during the follow-up.Conclusion Modified technique of ESD-L is effective for complete resection of small tumors originated from gastric muscularis propria,which can also decrease the risk of stomach perforation.

Objective To explore the behavioral dimensions of the open field test ( OFF),as a method for ethology in Kunming mice.Methods The behavior of adult,male,Kunming mice in OFF was recorded twice,for five minutes,with a one-week inter-trial interval.The following parameters were evaluated by factor analysis:percentage of time exploring in the central area (Ctime％); percentage of squares crossing in the central area (Ccross％) ; total number of squares crossing in the whole apparatus(Cross) ; total number of rears in the whole apparatus(Rear) ; and number of fecal boli(FB).Results There were good intercorrelation and intracorrelation between test and retest for Ctime％,Ccross％,Cross and Rear.Ctime％ and Ccross％ had significant loadings on “Anxiety” factor ( Loading％:43.34％,48.56％ ) ; Cross and Rear loaded on “locomotor-Exploration” factor ( Loading％:27.94％,29.30％ ) ; and FB loaded on “Emotionality” factor ( Loading％:21.95％,15.93％ ).A good correlation was found between test and retest for anxiety factor and locomtor-exploration factor.Conclusion Open field test,as a method for ethology in Kunming mice,comprise three behavioral dimensions:anxiety factor,OFF-activity factor(locomotor-exploration) and emotionality factor.

ObjectiveTo compare liver pathology changes of patients with Budd-Chiari syndrome (BCS) and intrahepatic portal hypertension (IPH) after portosystemic shunt surgery. MethodsFrom January 2010 to December 2011,liverbiopsy was taken during shunt surgery (9 BCS patients,4 IPH patients),and 6-9 months after surgery on follow-up.Collagen type Ⅳ ( Col Ⅳ ),procollagen m (PC Ⅲ ),matrix metalloproteinase (MMP-1),tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinase(TIMP-1) were tested using SABC (immuonohistochemistry) method,and HE staining to observe the morphology of liver tissue.Free portal vein pressure before and after shunt was measured. ResultsIn BCS group,Col Ⅳ,PC 1Ⅲ and TIMP-1expression downregulated after surgery (127 ±15) vs.(137 ±16),t =4.896,P-0.013; (115.2 ± 10.6) vs.(127.3±9.5),t=4.877,P=0.003; (119.2±11.3) vs.(131.2±l9.6),t=2.841,P=0.023.MMP-1expression did not change ( P ＞ 0.05 ),while MMP-1/TIMP-1was not significantly correlated with liver fibrosis (0.95 ±0.16) vs.(0.98 ±0.15),t =-0.710,P =0.504.In IPH group,the expression of Col Ⅳ,PCⅢ,MMP-1,and MMP-1/TIMP-1did not change significantly after surgery (P ＞0.05).Compared with that in IPH group the expression of PC Ⅲ,Col Ⅳ and TIMP-1downregulated significantly in BCSgroup (127±15) vs.(150 ±12),U=3.000,P=0.038; (115.2 ±10.6) vs.(128.1±2.8),U=2.000,P=0.023; (119.2 ± 11.3) vs.(131.4 ±2.5),U=3.000,P =0.038.By HE staining in BCS group there was significant intrahepatic congestion which alleviated after surgery.While in PHT group liver pathology did not change significantly after surgery.FPP in BCS and IPH patients significantly decreased after shunt surgery (25 ±8) vs.(41±8) cmH20,t=17.816,P=0.000;(31±8) vs.(45 ±9) cmH20,t =5.745,P =0.010 ). Drop of FPP of BCS group plays a key role in reversal of liver fibrosis.ConclusionsIn BCS group liver pathology improved after shunt surgery probably by removing the intrahepatic obstruction,but in IPH group liver pathology remained unchanged after shunt.

This study was aimed to optimize the near infrared (NIR) variable selection method based on multivariate detection limit (MDL). Using Qing-Kai-Ling (QKL) injection as object, three variable selection methods (interval par-tial least-squares, iPLS; backward interval partial least squares, BiPLS; moving window interval partial least squares, mwPLS) were used to establish the PLS models of baicalin in QKL injection, respectively. The prediction ability of different variable selection method was compared. MDL of all models were calculated in contrast to the MDL value of full spectra PLS model, to select optimal variable selection method. The results showed that different variable selec-tion methods had different prediction ability. Among them, iPLS had the best performance which determination coef-ficient of prediction (Rpre2) and the root mean square errors of prediction (SEP) were 0.996 5 and 602.3 μg·mL-1, re-spectively. All MDLs of different variable selection methods were reduced compared with the full spectra PLS model. The value of iPLS was the lowest comes to be 1.19 μg·mL-1. The results above indicated that the best variable se-lection method for baicalin in QKL injection was iPLS. MDL theory took the error of calibration and validation set and the leverage of external sample into account, which can comprehensively evaluate model detection performance compared to the classic chemical indicator parameters. This method was particularly suitable for the variable selec-tion method optimization of NIR quantitative model of low concentration sample such as Chinese herbal medicine.
