Objective To study the effects of valsartan and triptergium glycosides on the abnormal expression of connective tissue growth factor(CTGF) in rats with diabetic nephropathy. Methods Sixty male SD rats were randomly divided into normal control group, diabetic nephropathy group(DN group),diabetic nephropathy treated with valsartan group(VAL group) and diabetic nephropathy treated with triptergium glycosides group(TG group).Diabetic nephropathy model was established by intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin(STZ) in DN group,VAL group and TG group. The rats were sacrificed after 2,4,8 and 12 weeks. The body weight, blood glucose, renal function and urinary albumin excretion rate(UAER) were measured, and the expression of CTGFmRNA in kidney was detected by RT-PCR. Results Compared with control group, the levels of blood glucose, blood urea nitrogen, serum creatinine and UAER were significantly increased in DN group(P

?AIM: To retrospectively analyze the surgical strategies and outcome of traumatic lens dislocation.?METHODS: Retrospective study. Clinical data of 105 cases ( 105 eyes ) diagnosed with traumatic lens dislocation from April to June 2014 in our hospital were recruited. According to position of dislocated lens and complicated situations, different surgical approaches were performed, including intracapsular lens extraction, phacoemulsification, vitrectomy through pars plana and lensectomy. Meanwhile, vitreo-retinal or anti-glaucoma surgeries were performed in complicated cases. Preoperative and postoperative LogMar ( Logarithm of the Minimum Angle of Resolution ) visual acuity were compared by paired t-test. Perioperative complications including expulsive choroidal hemorrhages and recurrent retinal detachment were recorded and assessed.?RESULTS: All 105 dislocated lenses were removed completely. Visual acuity of 91 eyes ( 86. 7%) were significantly improved postoperatively. The visual acuity of most patients was 0. 1-0. 3 ( 42 eyes, 40. 0%) and 1 patient’s visual acuity with lens subluxation reached more than 0. 8 postoperatively. Expulsive choroidal hemorrhages occurred in 1 eye intraoperatively and 1 eye postoperatively. Recurrent retinal detachment was observed in 2 eyes postoperatively.? CONCLUSION: According to position of the lens dislocation, personalized surgery strategy is critical for therapy of traumatic lens dislocation. Expulsive choroidal hemorrhage is one of most several complications and should be managed properly.

Ferulic acid (FA) was loaded into liposomes via calcium acetate gradient with (80.2 +/- 5.2)% entrapment efficiency. The average sizes of blank liposome and FA liposome were about 155 nm and 154 nm, respectively. The zeta potential of blank liposome and FA liposome were (13.14 +/- 1.67) mV and (4.12 +/- 0.05) mV, respectively. Unilamellar vesicles were present in freeze-fracture electron microscopy. In the pharmacodynamic studies, the protective effect of liposomal ferulic acid on tBHP-challenged U937 cells was measured with the morphology of cell injury, mitochondrial transmembrane potential alternation and cell viability assay used as index. The results of MTT assay, microscopy indicated that FA liposomes exhibited greater antioxidant activity than FA solution on U937 cell.

Objective:To investigate the workplace violence and compassion fatigue of nurses in emergency department and to explore the relationship between the two. Methods:The general information questionnaire, workplace violence scale and professional quality of life scale were used to investigate 957 emergency department nurses of 28 Level II hospitals and above. Results:The scores of each dimension of the professional quality of life scale for nurses in the emergency department were: compassion satisfaction score was 29.91±7.82, the burnout score was 26.63±5.66, and the second trauma score was 23.17±5.94. The total score of compassion fatigue is 49.80±10.42. The incidence of workplace violence was 77.6%. Workplace violence was negatively correlated with compassion satisfaction ( r=-0.250, P<0.01) , and positively correlated with burnout, secondary trauma, and total compassion fatigue ( r=0.349、0.340、0.384, P<0.01) . Whether there is only non-physical violence in the compassion satisfaction, burnout, secondary trauma, compassion fatigue total score is not statistically significant. Conclusion:Compassion fatigue is more serious in emergency department nurses, and the incidence of workplace violence is higher. Workplace violence has a positive effect on compassion fatigue. Nursing managers should actively prevent workplace violence and improve the working environment, thus reducing empathy fatigue.

OBJECTIVETo explore the relationship between sample size and variance of means for personal noise exposure in weaving workers as to contributing evidence for establishing personal noise exposure measurement guideline.
METHODSA personal noise exposure measurement database from a group of weaving workers was used in the randomized re-sampling data analysis. The sampling cases were one number selecting from one to fifteen at each randomized re-sampling procedure. The randomized re-sampling was one thousand times from original personal noise exposure measurement database to get one thousands of re-sampling database. One thousands of L(Aeq.8 h) mean were calculated by re-sampling databases. The variation of randomized re-sampling means was analyzed for different re-sampling numbers.
RESULTSThe change for narrow trend of maximum, minimum, 95 percent number, 5 percent number of L(Aeq.8 h) mean was faster when randomized re-sampling number was smaller in variation vs randomized re-sampling number curve analysis. After that, the change for narrow trend of L(Aeq.8 h) mean was smooth for increasing the randomized re-sampling numbers. The 95% - 5% of L(Aeq.8 h) mean was about half for randomized re-sampling four cases (3.30 dB) vs one case (7.40 dB), and about one third for seven cases (2.44 dB), and about one fourth for eleven cases (1.85 dB).
CONCLUSIONThe sample size in personal noise exposure measurement guideline could be selected from four to eleven.

Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica 2007;42(5):550-556
In this study, wheat germ agglutinin (WGA), tomato lectin (TL) and asparagus pea lectin (AL) were covalently coupled to conventional poly lactic-co-glycolic acid (PLGA) nanoparticles using a carbodiimide method to take the bioadhesive properties. The influences of the amounts of activating agents and lectins, as well as the activating time and incubating time on the effect of lectin conjugating were investigated to optimize the preparation conditions. The mean diameters of the performed nanoparticles with or without lectin conjugation ranged from (140.7 +/- 5.7) nm to (245.6 +/- 18.3) nm. The yields of lectin conjugating and the lectin surface concentrations on nanoparticles were determined by Lowry's methods, and were calculated to be (18.97 +/- 2.9)% - (20.15 +/- 2.4)% and (9.46 +/- 1.45)--(10.05 +/- 1.19) microg x mg(-1), respectively. The in vitro bioadhesive activities of nanoparticles were evaluated by pig gastric mucin (PM) binding experiments. After incubation at room temperature for 60 min, the equilibria of binding between nanoparticles and PM reached. The percentages of the bulk PM which had interacted with different lectin-conjugated PLGA nanoparticles were 15.5%, 12.1% and 11.8%, respectively. The conjugation of lectin enhanced the interaction about 2.4 - 3.2 fold compared with that of the non-conjugated one. A mathematical model was used based on the Langmuir equation, and the rate constants of interaction (k) were calculated to be 2.373 x 10(-3), 1.536 x 10(-3) and 1.714 x 10(-3) (microg x min/mL)(-1), respectively. These interactions could be competitively inhibited by their corresponding sugars of lectins. The results suggested that lectin-conjugated PLGA nanoparticles greatly promoted the interaction with PM in vitro compared with the conventional PLGA nanoparticles, thus would improve the bioadhesion on gastrointestinal mucosa after oral administration resulting in a prolonged residence time in the gastrointestinal tract.
