2.Ionizing radiation activates the HIF-lα-Survivin pathway in human lymphoma cells

Objective To determine the levels of radiation-induced expressions of HIF-1α and Survivin in three human lymphoma cell lines with or without HIF-1a specific antagonist or HIF-1a siRNA transfection and to explore the possible mechanism of cell radioresistance.Methods Namalwa,Ramos,Raji cells were irradiated with X-rays with or without the combination of echinomycin (EC),a HIF-1α specific inhibitor,or transfection of HIF-1α siRNA.Then the expression levels of HIF-1α and Survivin proteins and mRNAs were determined by Western blot and real-time PCR,respectively.Results After irradiation,the expression level of HIF-1α protein was up-regulated at 10-20 h followed by up-regulation of survivin protein at 24 h (t =7.53-31.31,P < 0.01 ) in three lymphoma cell lines.Radiation-induced up-expression of survivin protein was significantly reduced by either HIF-1α inhibition or EC treatment (t =7.21-32.81,P <0.01 ).However,radiation failed to induce up-erpression of survivin at both mRNA and protein levels after transfection with HIF-1α siRNA.Conclusion HIF-1α-Survivin pathway is activated in human lymphoma cells after radiation,which might be involved in the cell radioresistance.
3.Relationship between Resistant Index and Ovarian Function after Radical Hysterectomy with Ovarian Transposition in Young Women with Cervical Cancer

Objective To investigate the relation of resistant index and function of transposited ovaries following radical hysterectomy in young women with early stage of cervical cancer.Methods A total of 22 young women(aged from 26 to 40 years old)with early stage of cervical cancer(FIGO Ⅰ a or Ⅱ a)were studied from Aug.1997 to Sep.2004 in the Affiliated Hospital of Inner Mongolia Medical Collage.Ovarian transposition was performed at the time of radical hysterectomy and pelvic lymphadenectomy in 12 cases who received postoperative radiotherapy;the rest 10 cases did not receive postoperative radiotherapy.Ovarian function was evaluated by serum FSH,LH,E_2 and B-ultrasonography in all of the cases.Results There was a statistically significant difference between the radiotherapy group and the non-radiotherapy group in serum E_2,FSH,LH levels and RI at the 24th month postoperatively.RI had a negative correlation with E_2 and positive correlation with FSH.Conclusion Ovarian transplantation can preserve the endocrine function of ovary for young women with cervical cancer.RI has a negative correlation with E_2 and positive correlation with FSH.RI is the important index of supervising ovarian function.Postoperative radiotherapy can influence RI and ovarian function.
4.Change of paravertebral muscle in patients with lumbar degenerative disease

BACKGROUND:Lumbar paravertebral muscles play an important role for lumbar spinal stability. Increasing studies emphasize on the change of paravertebral muscles in patients with lumbar degenerative disease and therefore have important clinical significance for the rehabilitation training of paravertebral muscle in patients with lumbar degenerative disease. <br> OBJECTIVE:To review the research progress of the change of paravertebral muscle in patients with lumbar degenerative disease and to look into the future development prospects. <br> METHODS:A computer-based online search of PubMed and WANFANG DATA between 1986 and 2014 was performed with the key words“lumbar vertebra, paravertebral muscle, psoas major, multifidus muscle, cross sectional area, muscle atrophy, fatty infiltration, muscle biopsy, MRI, electromyography”in English and Chinese, respectively. The clinical and experimental studies addressing the changes of paravertebral muscle in patients with lumbar degenerative disease were included. According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 48 literatures were included into the final analysis, 8 Chinese and 40 English. <br> RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The change of paravertebral muscle in patients with lumbar degenerative disease includes muscle atrophy and fatty infiltration. The changes of paravertebral muscles are often detected with B-ultrasound, CT, MRI, EMG and muscle biopsy. Due to the differences of sample size, age and study method, there are different results, even conflicting. So some limitations of sample size, age and study method are needed to obtain accurate results. In addition, further studies wil focus on the verification of which nerve specifical y dominants lumbar paravertebral muscles.

Procalcitonin (PCT)is a biomarker of early bacterial infection,and it can reflect severity of infection,and regarded as a prognostic factor.Community acquired pneumonia(CAP) is the main mortality and morbidity cause of children under 5 years old.The diagnosis of CAP mainly depends on clinical symptoms and chest radioactivity and regular blood test,and absent of specific indications,and mainly depends on clinicians experiences.The diagnosis and prognosis values in children CAP have been proved by many clinical trials.This paper reviews the clinical value of PCT on children CAP.
6.A Study of“Chinese Culture Aphasia”in Present College English Teaching in China

[Objective] Via an empirical survey, this study is aimed to explore the imparting and mastering of Chinese cultural knowledge in China ’s present col ege English teaching, so as to offer some effective strategies for dealing with“Chinese culture aphasia”in current col ege English teaching in China. [Methods] Resorting to the research methodology of tests, questionnaires and interviews, it carries out an investigation of a number of col ege students and English teachers in Zhejiang Province into their mastering of Chinese cultural knowledge and its conveying in English as wel as the curriculum design of their col eges or departments. The relevant data derived from the research are analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. [Results] The subjects al demonstrate the phenomenon of“Chinese culture aphasia”concerning both its comprehension and its English translation to varying degrees. Besides, cross-cultural commu-nication is twofold, so it is indispensible for learners to study simultaneously their native culture,which is a solid cornerstone and the crucial foundation for foreign language learning, but has been seriously deficient in col eges’curriculum design and students’textbooks; integrating Chinese as one of the com-pulsory courses and establishing corresponding examining and evaluating systems incorporating formative assessment and summative assessment, are sure to cope with“Chinese culture aphasia”in present col ege English teaching in China effectively. [Conclusion] The research and solution above are expected to shed light on teaching syl abus formulations and curriculum designs, enhance students ’humanistic quality and their communication capabilities in reality, and consequently popularize the excellent Chinese culture.
7.Anti-NMDAR-encephalitis in children

Anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor encephalitis (Anti-NMDAR-encephalitis) in children is a type of autoimmune encephalitis associated with NMDA receptor.Its etiology and clinical manifestations are specific in children.This disease is associated with teratoma more in adult than in children.However,its etiology is more associated with infection and heredity in children.The pathogenesis is that the anti-NMDAR-antibody can combine with NMDAR of neurons selectively and reversibly.The clinical manifestations include psychiatric syndrome,language,motor,sleep and autonomic nervous disorders.Tumor resection and immtmotherapy are chief treatments.This disorder is often misdiagnosed as it is rarely reported in children.It is valuable to make early diagnosis and treatment.This paper reviews the mechanism,clinical features,diagnosis and treatment of antiNMDAR-encephalitis of children.
8.Evaluation of the protections of multivalent DNA vaccine of Streptococcus pneumoniae containing LytA gene

Objective:To evaluate the ability of the cooperative protection of the Strep to coccus pneumoniae multivalent DNA vaccine containing lytA gene(N-acetylmuramoyl-L-alanine amidase,LytA)and pspA'gene(N fragment of pneumococcal surface protein A,PspA)against intraperitoneal Streptococcus pneumoniae D39 infection.Methods The genomic DNA of the standard Streptococcus pneumoniae strain D39 was isolated.LytA gene fragment was amplified by polymerase chain reaction(PCR)and cloned into the eukaryotic expression vector pcDNA3.1(+),which was transfected into BHK-21 cells using Lipofectamine TM2000,and then the expression of LytA protein was detected with Western-blot.Furthermore,three formats of recombinant plasmid DNA vaccines(pcDNA3.1-LytA+pcDNA3.1-PspA',pcDNA3.1-PspA',pcDNA3.1-LytA)were used to inject intramuscularly BALB/c mice,with pcDNA3.1(+)plasmid and PBS as controls.The levels of antibodies against PspA'and LytA proteins were checked.Live times of intraperitoneal infection mice by Streptococcus pneumoniae D39 in BALB/c models were analysis.Results:The three DNA vaccines all producted high levels serum special IgG antibodies.The anti-LytA antibodies level elicited by the DNA vaccine pcDNA3.1-LytA + pcDNA3.1-PspA'was higher than the DNA vaccine pcDNA3.1-LytA(P0.05).The result of the effect on intraperitoneal infection by Streptococcus pneumoniae D39 in BALB/c mice models showed the median live times in pcDNA3.1-LytA + pcDNA3.1-PspA'group was longer than pcDNA3.1-LytA group and the control groups(P0.05).Conclusion:The multivalent DNA vaccine of Streptococcus pneumoniae containing LytA gene and pspA gene had no the higher performance protection than the DNA vaccine only containing pspA gene against Streptococcus pneumoniae.It is should be further evaluated that LytA gene is concluded as the one of advantages candidate antigens of the Streptococcus pneumoniae multivalent DNA vaccine.

10.A STUDY ON THE METHODS OF DETERMINING FIBRE CONTENTS IN GRAIN, FRUITS, VEGETABLES AND FEED STUFFS

Fibre contents of 29 samples of grain, fruits, vegetables and feed were analysed by the AACC method i.e. insoluble dietary fibre method (hereinafter referred to as the new method) with Tecator's fibre analyser and comparison was made with the crude fibre determining method (hereinafter referred to as the old method)advanced by Helnneberg, et al in 1860.The results showed that the fibre contents in 11 samples of grain, 6 of stalks and 12 of fruits and vegetables determined by the old method were only 9.41-34.63, 44.46-74.30 and 53.62-85.29% of that by the new method respectively. So the new method may be appropriate to determine the fibre contents in grain and food.
