In this article we present the types of wireless sensor network (WSN) and their application in the medical field,including patient monitoring,disability assistance,emergency rescue and biological monitoring.Then we propose the challenges that WSN has to face in medical field concerning the development issue of safety,energy consumption and reliability.Finally,foreground of the WSN technology is prospected.
2.The study and development of retrograde cerebral perfusion technique

RCP is a new technique of cerebral protection that perfuses oxygenated blood from the venous system to cerebral tissue. When the corporeal circulation is arrested during the cardiovascular operation ,this method can be applied to delivery blood full of oxygen to cerebrum so as to prolong the tolerance time of cerebral tissue to ischemic injury and then gain abundant time for operation. Simultaneously,this method can reduce the reperfusion time of cerebrum significantly for a stroke patient so prolong the treatment time window of stroke and improve the treatment effect ion of medicine. This report summarizes the development and clinical application of this technique in recent twenty years and prospects its development direction in the future.
3.Effect of combination of neural stem cells transplantation and collagen gel scaffold on apoptosis of brain cells in rats after spinal cord injury

BACKGROUND:Studies have shown that neural stem cells isolated from embryonic rat cerebral cortex can proliferate and differentiate into neurons, astrocytes and oligodendrocytes in col agen gels.
OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effect of neural stem cells combined with col agen gel on the apoptosis of nerve cells in the brain of rats after spinal cord injury.
METHODS:Forty-five spinal cord injury rat models were made through spinal cord hemisection and randomly divided into three groups. At 1 week after modeling, rats in the celltransplantation group were injected al ogeneic neural stem cellsuspension into the injured site, rats in the combination group were administered with al ogeneic neural stem cells/col agen gel suspension into the injured site, and rats in the model group received no treatment. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:From 1 to 8 weeks after injury, the Basso, Beattie and Bresnahan (BBB) locomotion scores in the combination group were significantly higher than those in the other two groups (P<0.05). Hematoxylin-eosin staining showed that at 1 week after transplantation, there were a few necrotic cells and Bcl-2 positive cells, but a large amount of Bax positive cells in the three groups. Then, the number of Bax-and Bcl-2-positive cells was reduced gradual yin the three groups. At 8 weeks after transplantation, the number of Bax-positive cells was significantly higher in the model group than the other two group (P<0.05), but the number of Bcl-2-positive cells were dramatical y lower (P<0.05). Meanwhile, there were no necrotic cells in the three groups. These findings indicate that neural stem celltransplantation combined with col agen gel scaffold can arrest apoptosis of nerve cells in the brain of rats after spinal cord injury, and promote functional recovery after spinal cord injury.
4.Influence of a self-designed multiple organ preservation solution on apoptosis of renal cortical cells during hypothermic storage

Objective:To observe the influence of a self-designed multiple organ preservation solution,namely Shanghai multi-organ preservation solution(SMO),on the apoptosis of canine renal cortical cells during cold storage and the related mechanism.Methods: Canine kidneys were freshly perfused and separately stored with cold(0-4℃) SMO,hypertonic adenine citrate solution(HC-A),and University of Wisconsin solution(UW solution)(the latter 2 as control).At defined time points during storage,the morphologic changes of renal cortical samples were observed;apoptosis of renal cortical cell was determined by TUNEL;changes of malonldialdehyde(MDA) in cortex homogenate were measured by thiobarbituric acid method;and the activity of superoxide dismutase(SOD) was determined by xanthine oxidase method.Results: Pathologic assessments indicated that the kidney damage was similar in 3 groups within 24 h.The kidney tubular cell swelling and necrosis in SMO group and UW group were slighter than those in HC-A group after stored for 2 days.With the prolongation of storage time,apoptosis increased in all groups,with the apoptotic index of SMO group significantly lower than that of HC-A group(P

The connective tissue growth factor is a member of an emerging gene family known as the CCN family, which is an exocrine-type cysteine-rich polypeptide, and i t is also the downstream effector of the transforming growth factor? 1 and mediates the growth and migration of the vascular smooth muscular cell and the endothelium. The connective tissue growth factor plays an important role in the angiogenesis during wound repair, but its mechanism in tumor angiogenesis is sti ll poorly understood. The breast is abundant in connective tissue matrix, especi ally higher in breast carcinoma, so the connective tissue growth factor probably plays an important role throughout the biological course of breast carcinoma.
6.Thomsen-Friedenreich-related antigen and tumors

The Thomsen Friedenreich(TF) related antigen is a group of tumor related carbohydrate epitopes expressed in several kinds of tumors, and it is closely related with the biological behavior and prognosis of tumor. TF antigen also has great significance in the diagnosis and therapy of tumors. This article reviewed the relation between TF antigen and several kinds of malignant tumors such as the tumor in digestive system, pulmonary carcinoma and mastocarcinoma.The diagnostic, therapeutic and prognostic value of the TF antigen is also primarily discussed.
7.Multi-organ preservation solution: progress in laboratory research and prospects of clinical application

UW solution has bean considered the gold standard for abdominal organ preservation. Celsior solution and HTK solution, with low potassium and low viscosity, are becoming more widely used in the preservation of the kidney, liver and pancreas, and are gradually accepted as an ideal alternative for UW solution. Recent studies have found that addition of trophic factors can attenuate hypothermic ischemic injury to the donor organ, thus improving the preservation outcome. This paper reviews the progress in laboratory research and looks foward to the clinical application of multi-organ preservation solution.
8.The clinical application of function-preserving pancreatic surgery in treating pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors

Objective To explore the clinical application of function-preserving pancreatic surgery for treating pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (pNENs).Methods Twenty-eight patients with pNENs treated by the function-preserving pancreatic surgery at Anhui Province Hospital from January 2002 to December 2015 were analyzed retrospectively.Results Among the 28 patients, enucleation surgery was performed in 18 cases, distal pancreatectomy was performed in 8 cases, and middle pancreatectomy was performed in 2 patients.Total average operation time was (197±68) min, and the blood loss was (106±99) ml.The postoperative pancreatic fistula was observed in 7 patients, seroperitoneum was in 4 patients, incisional infection was in 1 patient, pulmonary infection was in 2 patients, and all the patients were cured by conservative treatment.There was no death during perioperative period.The postoperative hospital stay was (13±6)d.Analysis of pathological examination and clinical symptoms showed that 24 cases were diagnosed as functional pNENs (including 23 with insulinoma and 1 with gastrinoma), and 4 cases were as non-functional pNENs.The tumor grade G1 was categorized in 19 cases, G2 was in 9 cases.The TNM was I stage in all patients.There were no vascular or nerve invasion or lymph node metastasis.The follow-up period ranged from 4 to 144 months.2 patients were lost, and other patients were all alive.No diabetes or hypoglycemia occurred.Conclusions The function-preserving surgery for pNENs was safe and feasible, especially for well-differentiated functional pNENs.
10.Study on inhibiting expression of IGF1R in hepatocellular carcinoma cells by constructing shRNA eukaryotic expression vectors

Objective To construct short-hairpin RNA (shRNA) eukaryotic express vectors targeting of insulin like growth factor-1 receptor (IGF1R) gene, and to explore the changes of adhesion, invasion and FAK protein expression of MHCC-97 H hepatocellular carcinoma cells with RNA interference. Methods The shRNA oligonucleotide fragments were designed and synthesized based on the sequence of IGF1R mRNA. Double strands were formed after annealing and inserted into pGCsi-U6-Neo-GFP vector. The recombinant was transformed into Stable 3, then plasmids were extracted and identified by restriction enzyme and sequencing analysis. The most effective vectors were selected by RT-PCR and Western blotting after transfecting 293T cells. The best one was used to transform MHCC-97H cells which were selected with G418 to obtain positive colons. The changes of adhesion, invasion and FAK protein expression in MHCC-97H cells were studied. Results The restriction enzyme analysis and sequencing analysis demonstrated that shRNA had been inserted into vectors, and their sequences were the same as the design. It was indicated by RT-PCR and Western blotting that the silencing efficacy of IGF1R was 88%. The ability of adhesion and invasion significantly decreased after IGF1R silencing in MHCC-97H cells, and so was the expression of FAK protein. Conclusion IGF1R pGCsi-U6-Neo-GFP shRNA can significantly decrease the abilities of adhesion and invasion in MHCC-97H cells, and inhibit the expression of FAK protein.
