1.Stress analysis of cervical spine C4-C6 under frontal impact load.
Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2014;31(1):124-127
In order to check the neck response and injury during motor vehicle accidents, we developed a detailed finite element model for human cervical spine C4-C6. This model consisted of cortical bone, cancellous bone, annulus, nucleus, ligaments and articular facet, and it also set up contact in the contacting parts for simulating the movement perfectly under frontal impact. This model could be used for stress and strain distribution after the frontal impact load was applied on this model. During the process of frontal impact, the most displacement simulated data were in the interval range of experimental data. The experimental results showed that this model for the human cervical spine C4-C6 simulated the movement under the frontal impact with fidelity, and reflected the impact dynamics response on the whole.

Objective To survey and analyze characteristics of brucellosis epidemic in Dalian City for the purpose of setting up prevention and control measures for the disease. Methods In 2007, the basic situation of people of 7-60 years old and in close contact with livestock was surveyed in Dalian according to the "Surveillance standard for brucellosis"(GB 16885-1997). Blood was collected in brucellosis suspicious or high-risk groups for the laboratory examination, using rose bengal test for qualitative detection and test-tube agglutination test(SAT) method for quantitative detection of serum antibodies; At the same time, brucellosis cases found in the routine monitoring and confirmed in and this survey in the department of endemic disease prevention in the center for disease control and prevention of Dalian City underwent questionnaire surveys. Results All 1563 people were epidemiologically surveyed of brucellosis, 1310 were male, 253 female, livestock care givers accounted for 56.05% (876/1563). 240 blood samples were serologically surveyed, the detection rate was 3.75%(9/240). This survey confirmed 2 cases of brucellosis patients, 3 cases confirmed in routine monitoring. 3 cases were infected via contacting infected brucellosis cows, and the 2 cases were imported. Conclusions To strengthen the quarantine of livestock and timely treat the infected livestock should be the key of control of brucellosis. At the same time, professionals of livestock should be educated to protect themselves.

-6.00D), selected randomly and consecutively, were examined by ICGA and FFA synchronically.ResultsThe result of early phase of FFA showed hypofluorescence of the background in 25 eyes, while of late phase showed subretinal neovascularization (SRNV) in 10 eyes and streak formation in 40 eyes. The result of ICGA showed choroidal retrobulbar arteries in 8 eyes, hypofluorescence of the background in 35 eyes, SRNV in 8 eyes, and streak formation in 52 eyes.ConclusionThe iconographic characteristics of ICGA and FFA of high myopia include hypofluorescence of the background, SRNV and streak formation. ICGA can give more exact information on the lesions of choroid in high myopia. The synchronic examination of ICGA and FFA may act as a guide to the therapy for high myopia.

Kyrgyzstan is a mountainous country in the northeastern part of Central Asia which shares borders to the southeast with China. Due to their extreme environment and climate, there are a diverse range of species of plants. Many of the plants used in Kyrgyz folk medicine have not been studied using modern scientific techniques. This paper introduced the basic situation of medicinal herbs in Kyrgyzstan by comparing the differences traditional use between China and Kyrgyzstan, and looked for traditional medicinal plant research to provide basis for the development and cooperation of China and Kyrgyzstan.
