Scientific research is important for the improvement of the health-care techniques,and is certainly important for the health of women and children of the whole society.With the development of medical science,research ability of maternal and child healthcare professionals is deemed essential.And the evaluation of their research ability,stimulation,and creativity have been important topics to address.Here we introduce an evaluation system for research capacity of maternal and child healthcare professionals established in our hospital,which is the fruit of constant exploration and practice for several years.It is proved to be practical,simple and feasible.The establishment methods,practices and experiences of the evaluation system are presented in this paper.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the clinicopathological characteristics of anthracosilicosis complicated with lung cancer.

METHODSTissue specimens from 16 autopsy cases of 0(+) anthracosilicosis complicated with lung cancer were retrospectively studied by hematoxylin-eosin, histochemical, and immunohistochemical staining.

RESULTSAll of 16 patients were male. The patient's age ranged from 46 to 57 years (average: 52.8 years). The dust-exposure time were over 25 years. The pneumoconiosis and dust fibrosis of different degrees in the lung were found. The positive detected rate of coal silicotic nodules was 93.75% (15/16). Among 16 cases of lung cancer, there were 5 cases of squamous cell carcinoma, and 5 cases of small cell undifferentiated carcinoma, 3 cases of bronchioloalveolar carcinoma, 2 cases of adenocarcinoma and 1 case of adenosquamous carcinoma. The typical pathological changes of anthracosilicosis complicated with lung cancer were: the cancer tissue was located at the side of coal dust fibrous focus and fibrosis lesion, or mixte with silicotic lesion. CK, EMA and CEA were positively expressed in most of the tumor cells, while vimentin was positive in the fibrocyte of dust fibrosis.

CONCLUSIONSThe occurrence of some lung cancer may be related with fibrosis. The dust-exposed workers can suffer from lung cancer which is histologically identical to the general lung tumor. PCNA and Ki67 may be a prognostic index for anthracosilicosis with lung cancer, while vimentin may be a marker for the examination of dust fibrosis in anthracosilicosis.

Abstract: Objective To construct a shuttle vector pHT315-AaCPR100A with two spore-producing-dependent promoters and the target gene AaCPR100A in Escherichia coli-Bacillus thuringiensis. Methods The forward promoter of Cry3A, named Pro-1 (+), was amplified by PCR using pSVP27A plasmid as the template, and the target gene AaCPR100A was amplified using Aedes aegypti RNA reverse conversion cDNA as the template. The plasmid pHT315 was linearized by digestion with Hind Ⅲ and Sal Ⅰ. The forward promoter and the target gene were inserted into the linearized vector pHT315 successively by in-fusion cloning according to the transcription direction. The synthesized plasmid containing the Cry3A reverse promoter sequence was used as the template, and the Pro-1 (-) reverse promoter was amplified by PCR. The intermediate vector containing the forward promoter and the target gene was linearized by EcoR I restriction enzyme, and the reverse promoter was inserted downstream of the target gene by in-fusion cloning in the direction of transcription. Results By agarose gel electrophoresis, the forward promoter, target gene AaCPR100A and reverse promoter bands were clear and of good quality, which could be used for in-fusion cloning experiments. The two spore-producing-dependent promoters and target gene fragments were connected by In-fusion cloning. The recombinant vector pHT315-AaCPR100A was verified by PCR. The forward promoter, target gene fragment and reverse promoter were successfully amplified in the recombinant vector. Nucleotide sequencing verified that the sequencing results of the bidirectional promoter sequence and the target gene sequence were basically consistent with the sequence alignment results, which met the requirements of the construction of vector elements and proved that the recombinant vector was successfully constructed. Conclusions Based on the above results, this study proves that the recombinant shuttle vector with two spore-producing-dependent promoters can be successfully constructed by in-fusion cloning technology, laying the foundation for the construction of engineered Bacillus thuringiensis expressing dsRNA of AaCPR100A.

This study aimed to analyze the etiology of the encephalitis outbreak in Longyan, Fujian Province, China in 2010, in order to provide valuable information for this prevention and control of this disease. Pathogens were confirmed from cerebrospinal fluid samples with fluorescent RT-PCR, virus isolation (RD cells), and neutralization tests. Then, the VP1 fragments or whole genome nucleotide sequences were determined for four virus strains using PCR. Homology was assessed using the MegAlign software, and a phylogenetic evolutionary tree was drawn using Mega 4.0 software. The results confirmed that the etiology of the outbreak was the ECHO6 intestinal virus, and the nucleotide sequence of the VP1 segment indicated that the C2 subtype was responsible. The genome sequence consisted of 7407 nucleotides, and resembled the genome of other ECHO and CoxB viruses with homology levels of 78.5%-87.3%. The encephalitis outbreak in Longyan in 2010 was caused by the ECHO6 C2 subtype intestinal virus, and its complete genome sequence length is similar to the standard strain (U16283) with a sequence homology of 80.4%.

OBJECTIVETo develop a new method of PET and CT cross-modality medical image fusion based on out-location frame.

METHODSPET/CT cross-modality medical images were obtained based on the out-location frame and the external fiducial marker on the frame was used for rigid medical image registration. A variation model based on the wavelet transform was used for image fusion.

RESULTSThe CT images were displayed by grey scale and overlaid with the PET images displayed by chromatic scale to obtain the image after registration and fusion.

CONCLUSIONThe method of external markers registration can be effective and accurate in achieving PET and CT image fusion.

Objective To Screen serum protein markers related to CRF and establish a diagnosis model,exploring and discussing its significance in serodiagnosis by comparing differences of serum protein spectrum expression between patients with chronic renal failure (CRF) and control group.Methods The trial included 62 CRF patients and 28 control ones.Serum samples were tested by surface enhanced laser desorption/ionization-time of flight-mass spectrometry (SELDI-TOF-MS).The data were analyzed to screen serum proteomic biomarkers.By bioinformatics analysis,decision classification tree models were to be established and tested.Results A total of 19 effective protein peaks were significantly different between CRF and normal control (P＜0.001) at m/z range of 1 500 to 30 000,among which 18 showed low expression and 1 showed high expression in CRF.CRF and normal control were obviously different in the clustering;By bioinformatics analysis,a CRF-normal controls of the diagnostic decision tree model was developed,which was 87.8% in with prediction accuracy rate of 87.8% sensitivity of 87.1% and a specificity of 89.3%.Condusion Diagnostic decision tree model provides a more accurate prediction and solid experimental evidence for early clinical diagnosis.

OBJECTIVETo analyse the clinical features and prognostic factors of small breast cancer patient (T < or =2 cm) with multiple axillary lymph node metastasis (N > or =4).

METHODSThe data of 118 small breast cancer patients (T < or =2 cm) with multiple axillary lymph node metastasis (N > or =4) surgically treated from 1993 to 2003 were retrospectively analysed by SPSS 13.0 software.

RESULTSThe overall 5-year survival rate was 75.0% in this series. It was found by single-variant Kaplan-Merier analysis that the stage, adjuvant chemotherapy and adjuvant endocrine therapy significantly influenced the outcome of the patients. For patients with 4-9 or > or =10 metastatic axillary lymph nodes, the 5-year OS was 89.5% and 59.8%, respectively (P = 0.009). It was 82.1% and 53.3% in the patients with or without adjuvant chemotherapy (P = 0.001), respectively. For patients with or without adjuvant endocrine therapy, the 5-year OS was 89.2% and 61.9% (P = 0.001). Multi-variant Cox regression analysis showed that the stage, adjuvant chemotherapy and adjuvant endocrine therapy were independent prognostic factors.

CONCLUSIONSmall breast cancer with multiple axillary lymph node metastasis usually has a tendency of metastasis with a poor prognosis, especially in those with > or =10 metastatic axillary lymph nodes. The stage, adjuvant chemotherapy and adjuvant endocrinetherapy were independent prognostic factors. Reasonable multi-modality therapy may be able to improve the outcome of these patients.

OBJECTIVETo gain a clear idea of the function of middle ear and hearing in cleft palate with secretory otitis media after pressure equalization tube insertion.

METHODS53 cleft palate cases with secretory otitis media including 62 ears were divided into treatment and control groups. They were examined by tympanogram and hearing threshold.

RESULTSHearing threshold in treatment group after PE tube insertion respectively was 23.3 dB and 23.4 dB in the near future and at a specified future date. It was normal. But there were still 64% tympanogram B and C.

CONCLUSIONSPE tube insertion could solve hearing problem, but could not improve the function of middle ear.
