OBJECTIVETo study the effect of total flavanones of Sedum sarmentosum (SSTF) on the apoptosis of rat hepatic stellate cells (HSC-T6) and its mechanism.

METHODDifferent concentrations of SSTF and HSC-T6 cells were co-cultured for different period of time. The MTT assay was used to detect the inhibitory effect of SSTF on the proliferation of HSC-T6 cells. The flow cytometry Annexin-V/PI double staining method was adopted to detect SSTF's effect on HSC-T6 cell apoptosis. Western blotting and Real-time PCR methods were applied to observe the effect on the protein and mRNA expressions of apoptosis-related cytokines Bcl-2, Bax and Caspase-3.

RESULTSSTF significantly inhibited HSC-T6 cell proliferation and induced cell apoptosis in a dose and time dependent manner. According to Western blotting result, SSTF promoted apoptosis by inhibiting Bcl-2, Bax and promoting the protein expression of Caspase-3; according to a further Real-time PCR study, Bcl-2 mRNA levels can inhibit Bcl-2 and promote Bax and Caspase-3 expressions.

CONCLUSIONSSTF has the effect of promoting the apoptosis of HSC-T6 mainly by inhibiting Bcl-2 and promoting protein and mRNA expressions of Bax and caspase-3.

In order to meet the requirements of the multi-physiological signal measurement of the 3D-TV health assessment, try to find the suitable biological acquisition chips and design the hardware system which can detect different physiological signals in real time. The systems mainly uses ARM11/S3C6410 microcontroller to control the EEG/EOG acquisition chip RHA2116 and the ECG acquisition chip ADS1298, and then the microcontroller transfer the data collected by the chips to the PC software by the USB port which can display and save the experimental data in real time, then use the Matlab software for further processing of the data, finally make a final health assessment. In the meantime, for the different varieties in the different brain regions of watching 3D-TV, developed the special brain electrode placement and the experimental data processing methods, then effectively disposed the multi-signal data in the multilevel.

To explore the prevalence of hepatitis B virus (HBV) in multiple myeloma (MM) patients, as well as to compare the clinical characteristics and outcome between HBV infected and non-HBV infected patients. Methods:The serology markers of HBV were detected in 363 MM patients and 11227 cases of healthy controls through chemiluminescence. HBV-DNA was measured via real-time quantitative chain reaction. Results:Sixteen out of 363 MM patients (4.4%) were HBsAg-positive, showing significant difference with healthy controls (2.4%). No statistically significant differences were observed in terms of sex, age, type of monoclonal (M) protein, International Staging System (ISS) stage, stem cell transplantation, and risk stratification between HBsAg-positive and HBsAg-negative patients. No significant effect of HBV infection was found on the OS of MM patients. HBV reactivation was observed in two HBsAg-positive MM patients who were treated with combination chemotherapy, including bortezomib and dexamethasone. The replication of HBV could be inhibited by anti-HBV drugs. Conclusion:A higher prevalence of HBV infection was revealed in MM patients. Close monitoring of HBV replication should be conducted in MM patients with HBV infection before and during the courses of chemotherapy.

Objective To analyze the factors related to the occurrence of complications in performing CT-guided percutaneous lung biopsy with 18 G-Bard Magnum needle. Methods CT-guided percutaneous lung biopsy with 18 G-Bard Magnum needle was carried out in a total of 58 patients. The postoperative complications were recorded, and the related factors causing complication were analyzed. Results Successful puncturing was achieved in all patients with a technical success rate of 100%. Postoperative complications included pulmonary hemorrhage (n=11,19.0%), a little amount of bleeding in needle tract (n=7,12.1%), hemoptysis (n=3,5.2%), hemothorax (n=1,1.7%), and pneumothorax (n=10,17.2%). Chi-square test showed that the occurrence of pulmonary hemorrhage bore a close relationship to the lesion’s diameter, the distance between the lesion and the chest wall, the lesion’s location and times of puncturing (P<0.05). The occurrence of pneumothorax was closely correlated with the age, the distance between the lesion and the chest wall, the presence of perifocal emphysema, the lesion’s location and times of puncturing (P<0.05). Univariate analysis indicated that the postoperative complications were liable to occur in the patients whose imaging examination showed perifocal emphysema and lung hilar lesion, and who had more than two independent risk factors (P<0.05). Conclusion CT-guided percutaneous lung biopsy with 18 G-Bard Magnum needle is an accurate and safe technique with relatively higher positive diagnosis rate, but this technique should be carefully used in patients who has perifocal emphysema, or lung hilar lesion, or more than two independent risk factors.(J Intervent Radiol, 2015, 24:792-796)

Objective To study effects of early non-invasive ventilation (NIV) application in treating elderly patients with acute left ventricular failure induced respiratory failure. Method Totally 32 elderly patients with acute left ventrieular failure induced respiratory failure, admitted from August 1997 to February 2007, received NIV treatment, and were retrospectively studied. There were 22 male and 10 female, aged (81.5?8.6) yearsdd. The changes of rahs, respiration rate, heart rate, arterial blood gas, cardiac function before and after NIV application were compared. According to the application time of NIV, 32 patients were divided into two groups: group A (early NIV application group, n=17) and group B (non-early NIV application group, n= 15). The time to improve the symptoms, the application time of NIV, cure rates, tracheal intubation rates and mortality were compared between the two groups. Results Thirty of the 32 patients survived, cardiac function was improved from New York classⅣtoⅠ～Ⅱ, respiratory rate, heart rate and blood pressure significantly decreased, PaO_2 and SaO_2 significantly increased and PaCO_2 significantly decreased. Objective To investigate the serum levels of tumor markers CEA,CA724,PGⅠ,PGⅡ,PGI/PGII and SF in gas-tric cancer.Methods The serum levels of CEA,CA724,PGⅠ,PGⅡ,PGI/PGII and SF were detected in 46 healthy con-trols,45 atrophic gastritis patients and 39 gastric cancer patients.Serum levels of CEA,CA724 were measured by ELC meth-od,PGⅠ,PGⅡ by time resolved fluorescence immunoassay (TRFIA)and SF by immunoturbidimetry(ITM).Results ①Compared to the healthy controls,the statistical contrast of serum levels of CEA,CA724,PGⅠ,PGⅡ and PGI/PGII except SF was significant in gastric cancer patients(P<0.05),only PGⅠ,PGⅡ,SF had significant difference in atrophic gastritis patients (P<0.05).Compared to atrophic gastritis patients,the serum levels of CEA,CA724 were significantly higher,but PGⅠwas lower in gastric cancer patients(P<0.05).②When CEA,CA724,PGⅠ,PGⅡ,PGI/PGII and SF were used to di-agnose gastric cancer individually,the sequence of the area under ROC curve was CEA,SF,CA724,PGI/PGII,PGⅡ and PGⅠ.Only the areas of PGⅠ,PGⅡunder ROC curve had significant statistical difference (P<0.05).③The sensitivity,speci-ficity,PPV and NPV were different when these indexes were used to diagnize gastric cancer individually or incorporatedly. Conclusion The serum levels of tumor markers CEA,CA724,PGⅠ,PGⅡ,PGI/PGII and SF had important reference value for the diagnosis of gastric cancer although the diagnostic value was different individually or incorporatedly;the content of serum PG and the ratio of PGI/PGII were closely related to the gastric mucosa.
